Sonic The Hedgehog 2: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

So where to begin? Well I quickly wanna mention that in my opinion, this film feels like a tad bit of a downgrade in tone/comedy than the first film…I’ll explain what I mean by that in spoilers

So now let’s get the rating out of the way so we can get into spoilers, overall I’ll still say this film was enjoyable for most of the film….however, however I can’t stress enough that this film is a downgrade because there’s a stupid subplot that wasn’t even necessary….heck, I wish they cut it out…also there’s 1 specific cringe scene that just made me groan….which I guess also did happen in the first film as well…

About the only saving grace in this film was the introduction to Knuckles played by Idris Elba and Tails….oh and Jim Carry as Dr. Robotnik as always…

So overall I’ll give this film a solid 7.5/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned.

So this film starts with Ivo Robotnik still stranded on the mushroom planet, trying different ways (supposedly) to make coffee out of the mushroom stew, that’s gross. Also, he’s lost his mind, he’s talking to himself well more like monologuing to himself. He made an Agent Stone head out of Stone, haha funny.

There’s a deleted scene apparently where Dr. Robotnik gets stoned out of his mind from the mushroom he just drank, to the point he starts hallucinating that stone is alive and talking to him. Say what now?

Dr. Robotnik: agent stone?

Stone: yes Dr.?

Dr. Robotnik: what did u put in the coffee?

Stone: just s little something to relax u Dr. Why don’t sit down and enjoy it.

Lololo I wish that wasn’t cut out, anyway so he ends up building a beacon that sends out a cry for help, he powers it with The Sonic quill he has.

Also, he zaps his tongue with it again because I guess it’s an addiction to him, anyways this summons a portal of warriors that come through, and Robotnik is about to defeat them with Agent Stone. But just then Knuckles walks out of the portal (played by Idris Elba).

Both Robotnik and Knuckles make a deal to team up, he helps Knuckles get to Sonic because Knuckles knows that the Sonics tribe stole the Master Emerald, which has tons of power.

And he wants it back, oh Dr. Robotnik get to earth, and extend their partnership. Because Robotnik says he can help, Knuckles knows nothing about Earth and doesn’t know how to floss but I can teach u.

Yep, Jim Carry doing the floss, sigh that was outdated then and it’s outdated now, so they both go pay Agent Stone a visit who’s now working at a Cafe, where he makes Lattes with Dr. Robotniks face in the cream.

Seriously, dude, dude u needs a hobby, anyways he tells everyone to get out and that he’s closing shop, he then changes the walls into control panels and Dr. Robotniks reach, just then Dr. Robotnik shows up and introduces him to his new bald looks, new stache, new red outfit. Oh and Knuckles.

Anyways so Tom and Maddie are planning to go to her sister’s wedding, ugh I hate this subplot in the film. It’s all the way in Hawaii, so Sonic sends them there via one of the portal rings.

So now he’s left to protect the house with the dog, they both get up to wild stuff and cause some chaos around the house. Just then that night Robotnik shows up at Sonics house and introduces Knuckles to Sonic.

Right after Knuckles punches Sonic.

Sonic: u will never get my powers!

Knuckles: (grabs ahold of Sonic) Do I look like I need ur powers?

BTW hands down I’m glad they got Idres Elba to voice Knuckles, idk he has really grown on me. So just then Tails comes in and saves Sonic, and they drive away. Tails introduces himself as the tech guy, also his name is Tails because he can use his Tail to fly.

Ok, that’s a cool ability, btw if I remember correctly they got the same voice actor who voiced Tails in the games to reprise their role in this film as Tails. Now that’s fan service done correctly.

Anyways they head to a bar where they try to use a voice modulator to translate what the people are saying because I think they are speaking Hungarian.

But the modulator gets words messed up so they accidentally get themselves into a situation, they end up doing a dance-off to make it out alive.

The gang makes it to a snowy mountain where Robotnik and Knuckles show up, they escape by sliding down the mountain as if they are skiing. Knuckles follows them and Sonic makes a joke and says “Oh look it’s the Winter Soldier”.

Oh Hahahahahha nice Marvel reference,

So Sonic calls up Tom but the wedding is about to start, so he reluctantly answers his phone. Sonic asks him to throw a portal ring so they can teleport there.

He shows him he’s in the snowy mountains and about to go over a cliff, so Tom takes out a ring and throws it but he used the wrong ring, that’s the wedding ring.

He accidentally gave Maddie’s sister the portal ring. He goes up to her and tries to yank it from her but she’s acting all stubborn and saying I swear to God if u ruin this for me I’ll get u.

Anyway, he grabs the ring and tosses it, a pile of snow comes in with Sonic and Tails, and just then the USA agents come out of nowhere along with G.U.N, which stands for The Guardians Unites of Nations, yes I know it’s kinda a stupid name. Heck even Maddie’s sister points out how stupid the name is.

Anyways the husband who was about to marry Maddie’s sister reveals himself to be an agent.

This whole wedding was a trap for Sonic, sigh I really hate this subplot. Anyway Walter is there and he arrests Sonic, Tom, and Tails. So then Maddie and her sister have to save the day. They sneak past the agents. Take out some.

Go save Tom and Tails and Sonic. They tie up Walter to get him to listen, they tell him that Robotnik is back and needs to be stopped. He’s not believing them.

Anyways Robotnik and Knuckles have made their way to the lost temple where the Master Emerald is located. They make their way through booby traps, then they have to locate themselves through a maze.

Sonic and Tails make their way to the maze, they make it up to the emerald, but as soon as Knuckles gets up there Robotnik is about to back stab him in the back.

Just then Sonic and Tails show up and stop them, while they talk Ivo is In the background going up to the emerald and grabs it, using the power to himself which he uses to absorb the power.

Knuckles feels betrayed, the place starts coming down. Sonic drowns underwater but Knuckles saves him and drags him to a beach.

Sonic asks why Knuckles saved him. He says u were up to some tactic and had to know what it is. Sonic tells him there’s no tactic, he just was doing the right thing.

He offers Knuckles a chance to join him to stop Robotnik so both Sonic and Knuckles team up along with Tails. We cut to Wade interrogating Agent Stone who he tied up at his Cafe. He tries to interrogate him by saying I asked once I’ll only say it one more time, which cream cheese do u want on ur bagel?

Wade ur pathetic go get another job, but Robotnik shows up with a black and green suit, all Emerald out if u will. He uses his power to untie Agent Stone.

He goes outside where the military is surrounding him, Walter says we’ve cut all ur funding, let’s see how big of a man u r without money. He then says wanna see how much of a bigger man I am?

Then he creates a giant mech with his face on it.

Because every supervillain needs their face on their creation I guess

So he starts rampaging through the streets, Sonic and friends must stop him but he’s too powerful with the Master Emerald, luckily Knuckles makes it into the mech and punches the Master Emerald out of Robotnik.

So Sonic decides to use the Master Emerald, and he becomes Super Sane Sonic, glowing yellow. He can dismantle the mech by using his super speed to slice the head clean off the mech.

Ivo has one hand behind his back while he says to a floating yellow glowing Sonic “I’ve done some bad things, u done some bad thing. How about we let Bygones be bygones what do u say?”

Of course, he instead uses his mech to try to punch Sonic, but Sonic grabs the mech’s hand and stops him. Then he rams through the robot several times until it falls apart, as it’s about to fall, Dr. Robotnik says “That’s it we’re no longer friends”.

Oh ha ha, so Robotnik is dead? Spoilers no he isn’t. Anyway happy ending, now Knuckles is a part of the family. The 3 of them make an oath to protect the Emerald at all costs, and then they go play baseball.

Knuckles being the fish out of water he doesn’t understand baseball and is asking I don’t get why I’m mad at this ball?

They get him to hit the ball but he hits it far away so the game is done. They say let’s get some idea cream, Knuckles says “Ice cream! What is ice cream?”

So they head out to get ice cream and that’s how it ends, now it’s time to talk about the one-end credit scene which takes place during mid-credits.

It’s of the wreckage being retained by G.U.N, while Agent Stone dressed as a guard is there trying to find Robotnik. Just then Walter has one of his men walk up to him telling him they found files on this project called Project Shadow.

We then cut to Shadow in a tank and he wakes up, woooooohooooooo!
