Non-Spoiler Plot Rundown
Phineas and Ferb’s summer takes a wild turn when they help Dr. Doofenshmirtz fix a machine, not realizing it’s actually evil and will open a portal to another dimension. Once they cross over, they find themselves in a dystopian version of their world—one where Doof is actually competent and tyrannical. While there, they also finally discover Perry’s secret: he’s a secret agent. This revelation causes emotional tension, particularly for Phineas, who feels betrayed. And it only escalates from there.

Final Thoughts
This is a rare perfect TV-to-movie transition. It keeps the humor, style, and heart of the original series while raising the stakes with an emotional story, a dark mirror world, and surprising character depth. Seeing Phineas and Ferb angry, hurt, and eventually forgiving Perry? It hits. And the alternate dimension stuff is such a fun sci-fi twist. Also: the song slaps.
Rating: 10/10
A dimension-hopping summer masterpiece.

Spoiler Breakdown – Act 3 Chaos & Catharsis
The final act is a war. Phineas and Ferb storm Perry’s secret base, use the dimensional portal to retrieve all their old builds (from rollercoasters to giant robots), and wage an epic battle against 2nd Dimension Doof’s army. Watching every invention they made over the summers return as war machines? Goosebumps. The payoff is massive.
Meanwhile, Cyborg Perry—2nd Dimension’s brainwashed enforcer—jams his spiked hand into an electric circuit, accidentally frying his programming. This reverts him back into an innocent Perry, and the 2nd Dimension Phineas and Ferb joyfully reunite with their platypus. Emotional damage: maxed out.
Then there’s the bittersweet ending: the gang has to say goodbye to Perry’s secret life. To protect reality, Carl (that’s the sergeant’s name!) wipes their memories. But not before Isabella kisses Phineas—a long-awaited moment that finally gives her closure. Perry watches silently, knowing he can stay… but only as a pet.
Phineas’ voice cracking as he says goodbye hits hard. And seeing Perry sacrifice that emotional connection to protect them? Devastating. But it’s also beautiful.
