Winchester Mystery House: I’m excited about this one, today we’re trying something different. We’re gonna take a look at my favorite historical moments in history, granted it’s a short list but still.
Today we’re taking a look at this famous house called Winchester Mystery House, yes that famous house.
Before I dive into what made that house so popular I do need to give some context to what was her family known for, her father created the Winchester rifle.
Yeah, there’s a fun fact for today, she ended up getting a phobia believing that the ghosts of the people who were killed with her family’s rifle are haunting her.
That’s all fascinating and all, but what makes this house so famous? Well glad y’all asked, for u see remember how I said Sarah Winchester kinda believed ghosts were haunting her?
Yeah, she truly believed that because a fortune teller told her if she stops building the house for the ghosts then she will die.
When did the house get built? Winchester House started construction beginning in 1884 and continued until she died in 1922.
Guess she was rich enough that she could even get enough workers to make this ginormous maze of a house, yeah she just kept building and building until she died.
Sarah Winchester died of congestive heart failure on September 5, 1922, at the age of 83. Some say she died because the spirits weren’t happy with her since at one point she did stop building when she got stuck in her elevator and had to be saved.
Which took away time, I’d more likely say she died from stressing herself out up the wazoo, but hey that’s just my thought.
Nowadays The Winchester Mystery House has become a tourist attraction, go there and join the tour. Witness the weirdness that is the Winchester home.
I’ve actually been there once, that was truly a bizarre experience. Inside u will see some bizarre things such as a door on the floor leading to the kitchen, with no stairs.
Yeah, a door that leads outside to no balcony or no stairs, so a one-way ticket to your death. Got it, well I guess u will be joining the ghost realm in that house.
A doorway to an attic with no latch or door, square-shaped spiral stairs, did I forget to mention the house is weird?
If ur ever in the area, I urge y’all to take the tour of the Winchester Mystery House. At the very least y’all will leave that day educated on something spooky and just downright sad.
Also yes there is a movie called Winchester, no I don’t recommend that film, it’s just a generic Hollywood horror flick, go watch a documentary on this place, that’s more intriguing. In fact here’s one.
Also here are some images,

Anyway hope y’all enjoyed the history lesson, till next time.
