Prince Of Persia The Sands Of Time: let’s start by showing yall the trailers shall?

Ok hot take I don’t understand the hate around this film, nor do I understand the hate around Jake Gyllenhaal.

People say he wasn’t the perfect person to play a Persian, which ok fair enough. But I actually liked him in this role.

Now granted this is coming from someone who’s never played any Prince Of Persia games, so what’s even the plot rundown?

So one says our main character Dastan
(played by Jake Gyllenhaal) and his adopted brothers

Garsiv (played by Toby Kebbell)

Tus (played by Richard Coyle)

Along with their uncle Nizam (Played by Ben Kingsley) raid a village that has a queen named Tamina (played by Gemma Arterton), they want her to marry Dastan, uh ew.

Why did they raid this village? Because according to Dastan they had been at war with this city for a long time, they had weapons they’d been wanting from them, so they planned to raid the city and take it over.

Also, this raid celebration happens on the day of their father King Sharaman’s (played by Ronald Pickup) birthday.

But unfortunately, when the king opens his main gift from Dastan which is this cloak, he starts burning to death uh oh, the king has been poisoned. Did Dastan kill him? All will be released in the spoilers, but now he’s on the run with Princess Tamina and this dagger of hers that Dastan stole.

This dagger where if u put special sand in it, and push the button on the back it will take u back in time to like 20ish seconds beforehand. So not that far back, but it does allow u to have a second redo at your mistake.

Also, the gang gets kidnapped by a gang run by Sheik Amar (played by Alfred Molina).

Anyway more will be revealed in the spoilers, for now, let’s get the rating out of the way, 10 out of 10.

Yeah, I don’t have any issues with this film, it’s gorgeous and the action is good-paced, plus I just like Jake Gyllenhaal. Warning spoilers ahead yall been warned ⚠️.

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revaluations, so what are the revaluations? Well turns out Dastan didn’t kill his father, it was Nasim. Yeah, what a shocker, no wait where have I heard this one before? A king who’s a kind-hearted generous king, who has a brother who’s jealous of him because he’s king while he’s not king.

Then the brother creates a ruse to kill his brother so he can become king, hmmmmmmmm nope this doesn’t sound familiar at all. What a unique take on the story.

Anyways Nizam hires assassins who are called the Hassassins, one of them who is the leader has a pet snake that comes out of his sleeves, he wants him to retrieve the dagger so he can use it to take it to this giant crystal in the grown called the Sands Of Time, where if he injects the knife into it will take him back in time.

Where he wants to go back and murder his brother before he was saved by him from being eaten by a tiger so he could become king instead of his brother, wow what a douchebag.

So after trying to warn his 2 brothers separately about Nizam, they both end up dying. Either that’s bad luck or planned bad luck.

Garsiv dies when they find Dastan in a raided small village, btw talking about a Disney film. This film has the balls to show someone’s decapitated head in its hut.

Disney huh? Anyway the brother gets shot in the chest by arrows by the Hassassins. The second brother Tus gets his throat slit by Nasim after Dastan shows him the powers of the dagger by stabbing himself and having his brother press the bottom of the dagger.

Again, Disney film? Anyways comes to the third act Nizam has found the passage to the Sands Of Time.

So the duo makes it down to the Sands Of Time, they get attacked by the leader of the Assassins, by Tamina shoving the guy’s snake mouth into his eye, yikes then Dastan stabs him.

So they locate Nizam and the floor beneath them starts falling when he injects the dagger into the crystal, Tamina falls to her death. Dastan holds onto Nizam, guess where the dagger takes them back to? At the beginning of the film when they are about to go back to the king to tell them the raid went well.

Ohhhhh, quick time to redo any mistakes now that they kinda alive, so he goes up to the crowd on the stars and tells Tus that the whole war against that city they raided was all set up by Nizam.

The town had no weapons as they expected. It was a peaceful town, and they attacked it. He asks Tus to believe him, and heck he quotes their father who said something to Tus privately.

So this convinces Tus to listen to him, as soon as Dastan turns his back on Nizam. He pulls out his 2 swords and tries to attack Dastan, Dunn Dunn Dunn!

Dastan knocks Nizam on the floor, Nizam is about to stab Dastan but Tus comes up and stabs Nizam, good riddance.

So then Dastan and Tus go to apologize to Tamina for the raid, both Dastan and Tamina take a walk and she somehow knows he used the dagger to be sent back in time.

The end happy ending, anyways hope y’all enjoyed this review, till next time.
