Borderlands: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Jack black again? Ugh hot take I’m getting tired of Jack Black, and his mannerisms.

He just overplays any role he’s in if u know what I mean, it’s gotten to a point where he ain’t playing a character. No, he’s instead playing himself in a role, so what’s the plot rundown?

Glad y’all asked, so apparently this woman named Lilith (Played by Cate Blanchett) gets hired by this guy named Roland (played by Kevin Hart).

Also, fair warning I’ve never played any of the Borderlands games, yes I know what a shocker. But what I do know is Kevin Hart was poorly miscast because in the games his character is tall. Here’s he’s scrawny.

Anyway they are hired to fo find this girl named Tiny Tina (Played by Ariana Greenblatt) who’s the chosen one, she is the key to opening up the vault that everyone is looking for.

Anyway they find her at a junkyard with her best friend Krieg (played by Florian Munteanu) and they also meet Claptrap (played by Jack Black) a small tin robot who just constantly makes jokes.

Anyways the gang teams up to get to the vault first before our main generic villain does, also they recruit the help of this woman Tannis (Played by Jamie Lee Curtis), who was a mother figure to Cate Blanchett character but she abandoned her when she was younger.

So she holds resentment toward Tannis, but she does join them to help on their quest.

Anyway, that’s all I’ll say for now before we get into spoilers. For now, let’s get the rating out of the way, overall I’ll say this is a pretty mid-film at best.

This film feels like it’s trying too hard to be a Guardians Of The Galaxy ripoff.

Again this is coming from a non-borderlands fan, but even I can tell the casting is off, some of the comedy is eh. Even though I didn’t hate Jack Black as claptrap, I will say his jokes do get annoying, I mean there’s a scene where he’s shitting out bolts and bullets.

Ans he doesn’t want them to look at him while he poops out bolts and bullets because he’s shy, then he wants them to look at him while he’s doing it because it’s making it easier for him.

Yes, that’s the whole joke, did y’all laugh at that? So I’ll give this film a solid 4/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned ⚠️.

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revaluations, so come the third act they locate the vault, the secret vault everyone is after. The villains show up, Tiny Tina tries using her chosen powers to open the vault but it’s not working. Wait is she not the chosen one? Will she not bring balance to the force?

Oh wait wrong franchise, no turns out it’s Cate Blanchett who’s the chosen one. So now she can fly? “They fly now!” Wait wrong franchise, “she can fly?” Also the wrong franchise.

So the team defeats generic bad guy and his team, after a bit of struggling of course. Cate Blanchett does open the vault before the villian kills Tiny Tina.

They eventually defeat the bad guy by stealing his protective forcefield device, activating his weapons, and then, with Tina’s help, leaving him in the Vault for the monster within.

Yeah turns out there’s a monster inside the vault, oopsie, It anyways a happy ending. Cate Blanchett has a family now and a purpose, yay I guess? The end. Hope y’all enjoyed this review, until next time.
