Clash Of The Titans 2010

Clash Of The Titans: so let’s firstly start with showing yall the trailer shall we?

Oh man I’ve been wanting to get around to reviewing this film….now a bit of a heads up what I have to say might offend true diehard

Clash Of The Titans fans.

Greek Mythology fans.

So I might end up angering some people…but so what? This is my opinion, and that’s all it is…u don’t have to agree or disagree with it.

Now before I get started I just want to say I’m a huge fan of Greek Mythology and I’m a fan of this film…it’s a guilty pleasure, yeah I know I’m probably gonna get hate for saying that but still..

But a major reason why I love this film is because they added my favorite Greek God Hades into this film…..now I do have a bit of a history lesson to start off with because I wanna clear any misconceptions people may have.

Hollywood has completely adopted the character of Hadea poorly, even in gaming and shows and films…he’s never been done justice. I will however play the Devil’s advocate here….even though I’m not a fan of how Hades is portrayed in media, I do like him here because he’s played by Ralph Fiennes….yes that’s right Voldemort himself.

Also, a small detail I do like about the gods in this film is they are all wearing gladiator armor…just like how the humans are In this film, Hade’s outfit is literally a blackened gladiator outfit that’s torn up slightly…while Zeus and the other gods are wearing bright silver gladiator armor….it’s honestly a nice little touch if u ask me..

Now remember how I said Hades is never represented accurately? Well, let me give y’all a bit of a history lesson about Greek Mythology…so in Greek Mythology books, Zeus’s father Kronos devoured his other siblings at birth…Hera, Hades, Poseidon, and Hestia, Kronos’s wife gave birth to Zeus after but tricked Kronos….she fed him a fake kid made of rocks…don’t know how he couldn’t tell the difference.

Anyway this gave Zeus enough time to figure out a plan to free his siblings from the inside of their father’s stomach….anyways let’s wrap this up this is getting too long and we’ve not gotten into the review yet, so long story short they get out of there dad. They team up together to defeat Kronos.

Hades is sent down to the underworld to watch over their father to make sure he never escapes his imprisonment, Hades is actually a reasonable god and Zeus is a prick…..so yeah now u get the geest of why Hades is my favorite?

But as stated here in this film he’s portrayed as the bad guy, oh goodie. But now it’s time to get the rating out of the way so we can get into spoilers.

Overall I actually found myself enjoying this film (even with its many flaws this film has).

So I’ll give this film a solid 8/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned.

So in this film, we follow our main character Perseus, we see him from when he was a baby. He was found in a coffin with his dead mom, he was raised by a fisherman. Also, this woman named Io (played by Gemma Arterton) has been watching him all his life.

Anyways one day when Perseus becomes a grown man played by Sam Worthington, he witnesses an attack happening to one of the statues of the gods. Hades shows up (played by Ralph Fiennes).

He causes the boat to be attacked which leads to the death of Perseus’s family. But he escapes and makes his way to the city of Argus.

Let’s skip a bit and give cliff notes.

Perseus finds himself at Argus.

Hades shows up and threatens everyone that the Kraken will show up in 10 days to kill everyone unless they give up the princess because they’ve insulted the gods.

Who’s this princess? Her name is Andromeda.

“Interesting” Yeah won’t lie Ralph Fiennes as Hades was perfect, he’s my favorite character in these 2 films.

Perseus gets recruited, 2 actors stick out we got

Mads Mikkelson

Nicholas Hoult

Actually speaking of the cast, this film just has a great cast if u ask me. We got besides Mads Mikkelson and Nicholas Hoult and Ralph Fiennes, we also have

Liam Neeson as Zues

Luke Evans as Apollo

LSO Rory McCann plays a background character in this film who gets killed off, but it’s cool that Sandor Clegane appears here as well.

Also, this woman who apparently watched over Perseus all over his life named Lo (played by Gemma Alterson) joins them after she tells Perseus his full back story.

Turns out he is the son of Zues and technically the son of this king named King Acrisius, he and the Romans led a Siege of Mount Olympus, and this made Zeus angry so to made an example of Acrisius. He transformed into him and had sex with his wife.

This led to giving birth to Perseus, and the king mad in a rage ordered the execution of his wife and a new born child. By putting them in a coffin and throwing them into the ocean, Zues got mad and zapped him with lightning which deformed him. Turning him into the creature only known as Calibos.

Yeah, this soundtrack is one of my favorite, speaking of Calibos. Hades hires him to hunt down Perseus and kill him.

So come to near the 3rd act and the 3rd act itself, after going into Medusa’s hideout and slaying her. This involved Perseus cutting off her head without him looking straight at her otherwise she would freeze him, also they needed her head to kill the Kraken.

Well, when I say they I mean he, because the team gets killed in there, except for Lo who stays outside.

After Perseus comes outside with the head, all of a sudden Calibos (back from his encounter earlier with Perseus, which led to his hand being cut off) comes back with a Vengeance and kills Lo.

Now it’s just the 2 of them left to fight each other, this fight is short BTW only lasting like 2 min. Yeah, what a shame, even though I like this scene I will admit it is flawed, especially since it heavily relies on a shaky camera.

So Lo dies and vanishes, Perseus goes back to Argus to save Andromeda who’s been tied up to a giant mechanism for the Kraken to eat her.

Zeus unleashes the Kraken “Release the Kraken”.

But uh oh Hades reveals he his evil plan that he’s been using Zues all along. That he’s using the Kraken to put fear in people since he feeds off people’s fear.

Perseus makes it back in time for the Kraken to come out of the water, he’s flying on his Pegasus. Hades sends his flying demons to attack Perseus. But Perseus makes it up to Andromeda and sticks Medusa’s head in front of the Kraken killing it like that within the span of 3ish min.

Wow just wow, talk about an anti-climatic scene, even I have to admit that.

But just then Hades comes out of nowhere and with the power of Perseus’s sword Zeus gave him, and Zeus’s lightning that’s coming down. The lightning hits his sword and he tosses it at Hades which just sends him back home.

“I’m a god, I’ll live forever” Hmmm u sure about that? Thinks the sequel recon would say otherwise.

He then leaves Andromeda on the side of a beach as he flies away with this gorgeous song playing in the background m

Zues shows up and essentially says ur the son of Zues and u will have help whenever u want it. And that he’s fine with Perseus living down here, he then gives him back Lo. The end.
