Killers Of The Flower Moon: Let’s start off with the trailers shall we? No really shall we?
So where do I even begin? Well firstly this movie is not gonna be meant for everyone….this movie is very heavy and very depressing…..this is based on a true historical story that happened….this movie is violent, gory at moments, and deals with a lot of death/murders….deals with hints of racism….so unless yall wanna watch a movie that will make ur day feel like crap…doubt this will be ur type of film….but if ur like me who just wanted to see the movie because it’s a biopic on a historical moment in history? Then u might enjoy it….
Also, did I forget to mention the biggest thing that might hinder if u enjoy this film or not or if y’all wanna go see the movie or not….it’s the fact that this film is 3 hours and 30 minutes long…Jesus lord yeah that nearly 4 hours long, let that sink in….for some of yall that might be too long which is understandable….for some yall that’s not too bad, for me ehhh It’s the ladder….it all depends…if the movie is enjoyable then the nearly 4 hours doesn’t feel like anything…but if it feels slow like LOTR then the time starts dragging for u…
So without further a due let’s get into the review shall?
So in this film our main character named Ernest Burkhart played by Leonardo DiCaprio comes back from the war and goes to visit his grandfather named William K. Hale played by Robert Dinero….anyways he asks Ernest if he can read which he responds is I I I uh uh I can read sir…yes, I can……and my reaction is no u definitely cannot…u took forever to respond and u stumbled ur words a bit…
Anyways he gives Ernest a job as a taxi driver…he accepts this, also we see our first Osage person die, and we see a guy foaming at the mouth with a bottle of wine near him on the floor Dunn dunn dunn…..so basically some Osage people have been dying left and right in suspicious manners…..heck we see a husband shoot his wife gun blank range outside in the front yard while she takes her baby in a carriage outside…..I did say this is a dark film…..so Anyway Ernest ends up meeting this Osage woman named Mollie (played by Lily Gladstone)….they eventually start hitting things off with each other throughout the multilingual times he riding her around….
Until one day she has him take her home with a box, she brings him to the front door and takes the thing that’s in the box….it’s a cowboy hat, she puts it on him….awww that’s cute, let’s see how long this lasts lol……anyways things keep getting worse, Mollie has family members that are married into white men, and her family keep dying…first it was one her cousins….then a sister…..oh and Mollie has a mother who hates her but loves her sister…what a great family huh?
She makes her disdain for Mollie well known….again what a loving family lol….
And the sister gets drunk all the time, plus hooks up with men constantly….oh how wonderful lol….don’t worry things become worse, so eventually the sister is found dead….on the side of a river bank, with her brains shot out…yeah, I forgot to mention this is a Rated R movie.
So come to the third act, DC gets info on all this happening so they send down a sheriff, btw fun fact this case is the case that created the FBI. It’s this investigation right here.
They send down a sheriff played by Jesse Plemons, who starts investing around. He finds out that Robert De Niro’s character is behind all this, he’s been the head mafia in charge.
Here’s the kicker or insult, he’s been behind the native American murders. All while playing up his persona of pretending to be their friends. Also, he forces his grandson played by Is Leonora DiCaprio to poison his native American wife named Mollie.
Why? So they can get her insurance, God this is awful, also yes he’s been willingly poisoning her and telling her she’s sick. Been taking care of her even though he’s been poisoning her, this is truly a heinous crime.
Anyways during the trial, all this comes to light. Mollie finds out, and asks her husband if he’s been poisoning her this entire time while knowing. He said yes. She decided to leave him.
Yeah good, luckily she survived, we get an end crawl via postscript that depicts the aftermath of the Osage murders. The film’s closing scenes include a radio broadcast that tells the story of the murders, the transcript tells of
Hale’s release from prison (shame)
Ernest Burkhart’s release from prison and his move back to Osage County (shame)
Mollie’s death from diabetes (good riddance)
Mollie’s burial next to her family (that’s sad)
The Osage murders not being mentioned in the newspaper after Mollie’s death (that’s ashame)
A modern-day Osage gathering (that’s great)
Well, that’s kinda a bleach ending if u ask me, anyways the end. Hope y’all enjoyed this review, sorry again for being Kate to this. But catch y’all next time.
