The Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King

Lord Of The Rings Return Of The King: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Ohhhhhhh boy I’m probably gonna get downvoted for my opinion on this franchise but here we got, got to be honest.

Ok, here it goes. I’m not a fan of the LOTR franchise, yeah I said it. Probably gonna get booed, but hear me out. Also, this is just my opinion, don’t allow my opinion to hurt the thing u love the most, not my goal for that to happen.

The issue I have with this series is the film franchise can be boiled down to this description, a group of middle-aged men just walk and walk and talk and talk and talk and walk and walk and talk and talk and walk and walk some more.

Even on paper that sounds boring, keep in mind that’s 3 films, yes I know there are action scenes and I’ll give u this. The action scenes are dope.

I do love the casting, they are perfect. I love the use of practical effects over CGI.

Love the soundtrack, it is absolutely gorgeous.

I’ll share with y’all some of my favorite soundtracks from this film.

Yes, that’s right the end credits song, don’t judge me I actually find this end credits song emotional. Or at least I always feel emotional when listening to it. So what’s the plot rundown y’all may ask?

Well while Sam, Frodo, and Gollum are continuing to head to Mount Doom, Gandalf and the B team make it to Saruman castle where it’s all flooded down on the floor, btw This scene well for some reason it’s cut out of the normal version of this film for some reason.

Yeah, they cut out Sarumans death scene in the normal version, if u want to see his death u have to had watched the extended version which is 4 and a half hours long.

There’s the scene, where Theoden gets Wormtongue to change sides. So he comes up behind Saruman and stabs him multiple times, Legolas for some reason shoots Wormtongue with an arrow and Saruman falls off the tower and gets emailed in a spike on a wheel, yikes.

Fun fact about this scene, so originally Peter Jackson wanted Christopher Lee to scream when being stabbed and start falling.

But Christopher Lee has killed tons of Nazis before, and he knew what a person does when they get stabbed in the back (literally), hence why in this scene when he’s being stabbed he just grunts softly and in pain.

I have major respect for Christopher Lee, he was an amazing actor.

Why was this deleted? No seriously? Because this scene is cool, maybe the extended cut is the way to go.

Anyways so now since this is the 3rd film and overeating ends here the B team makes it to Minas Tirith.

Where the king who’s there named Denethor II. He’s worthless and depressed because Boromir his son is dead and he’s sad his son is dead even though he has a second son named Faramir.

Father of the year, so he doesn’t help the team so our team is left to defend the city on their own with the guards, heck he sends his own son Faramir to war and doesn’t care if he dies or not.

Faramir comes back dead (kinda) so he’s done and tells everyone to leave now! Leave ur posts! Gandalf knocks him out with his staff.

Good, now it’s time to defend the city against the Orks, a war happens.

They are gonna have to be prepared because not just the Orks gonna come, the Nazguls along with their leader named the witch king of Angmar are gonna come and join the fight against them.

Allo while Frodo and Sam are getting close, though there’s some tension going on. Frodo is becoming corrupt because of the ring and Gollum has returned and is creating tension between Sam and Frodo.

Will the team survive? Will Frodo and Sam’s friendship make it out alive? All will be revealed.

But first the rating, overall eh? Idk I still don’t care, the action was fun but besides that. Also, I watched the extended cut. 4 and a half hours was too much. But I’ll be fair.

Also, don’t take this the wrong way, I’m not even saying these films are bad, not far from it. This series has had an impact on fantasy films.

I’m just saying these films are just not for me, so plz don’t take it personally. U like whatever u want to like, I ain’t gonna judge.

Also, I have massive respect for this franchise because without the books we’d never have gotten

Game Of Thrones

D&D

Let’s face it, those 2 IPs have LOTR to thank. LOTR walked so Game Of Thrones and D&D can run.

So overall I give it a solid 5/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned ⚠️.
____________________________________________________

Time to spoil the 3rd act, so come near the end of the war, Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas make their way into the mountains which are haunted by an army of ghosts.

He plans to unite them to help them fight against the war, how u may ask? Well, Elrond visits Aragorn and gives him this sword that was broken ages ago. This is the same sword that took our Sauron all those decades ago.

He also tells Aragorn that his daughter is dying, because the light is dying I guess. Meaning the goodness in the world, so they go to recruit the undead.

Also, Aragorn is heir to the king who wielded that sword.

Aragorn promises to set the ghosts free after they help them out, at first they laugh at them and diaper and cause the place to crumble. The 3 make it out of the mountains and the king’s ghosts come and say we will fight.

Ok good, so the army of the dead helps push back the army of Orks and there boats they have.

Also, Gandalf and Pippin try to go save Faramir because his dad thinks he’s dead so he’s gonna have his guards burn them both on a pile of wood.

Yep what a sad pathetic king, turns out Faramir is still alive but he ain’t hearing any of this, Pippin comes in with Gandalf on a horse, as the guards pour gasoline on them and set the wood on fire.

Pippin goes into the pile and shoves off Faramir, of course, Denethor II is attacking Pippin saying u will not take my son away from me!

Gandalf comes over and his horse kicks the king into the fire where he gets lit up and runs off to the cliff and jumps off.

Well so much for him, he died as he lived, pathetically.

Oh also during this battle The Witch King of Angmar comes down and tries to kill Merry.

Because he’s weak and no men can stop the Witch-king. But this woman named Éowyn steps up wearing armor, she’s the daughter of Theoden.

As the Witch King is about to kill her, he says no man can kill me. Then Merry stabs the king in the back which distracts him, then she takes her helmet off and declares. I am no man!

Then she stabs him in the face which kills him, well I say face but more like a black void.

Yay the day may seem to be saved, kinda also Theoden dies during the battle. He gets squashed by a giant elephant, uh oh.

They still have to go push back against the army that awaits Frodo at Mount Doom. So they head out.

So both Frodo and Sam are close after Sam saves Frodo from a giant spider. Gollum tries to attack them and gets tossed off a cliff, but this isn’t the end of him because he shows up and starts attacking Frodo, who is baffled by Gollum’s attack, he said that Sméagol promised to help them.

Gollum says coldly “Sméagol lied”

They both shove him off, they make it to the volcano but Frodo is too corrupt so he refuses to toss it in and puts the ring on.

Gollum comes in and jumps on invisible Frodo and starts attacking him, then he bites Frodo’s finger off, yikes.

So now Sméagol has the ring. All of a sudden Frodo attacks Sméagol and they both fall over. Luckily Frodo grabs on the ledge while Sméagol holding the ring falls into the lava with it.

Good riddance, so then the Eye of Sauron collapses along with the army of Orks. They back off since their master is dead.

The day is saved, after multiple endings later btw. Yeah this film has way too many endings, let’s see we have

Aragorn is crowned as king, along with Arwin.

Frodo finishing up a book he was writing.

Both Frodo and Bilbo ride to the docks to meet Gandalf where they say bye to Sam as they both are gonna go live with the Elfs with Gandalf.

Sam now has a wife and kids.

The end, like I said too many endings. Plz just sticks with one ending plz.

Anyway we then have the end credits to roll through, won’t lie I actually love these end credits. It’s emotional, again idk how. U be the judge for yourself.

Again I’m not crying, you are crying. Anyway I hope y’all either enjoyed this review or were open-minded minded to understand my perspective, anyways catch y’all next time. Sorry for this one being controversial.
