Toy Story 2: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?
That’s right today we’re talking about this timeless classic. But first, let’s give a rundown of the plot, Andy is about to go to camp but he accidentally breaks Woody’s arm by having the threads barely holding it in tact, uh oh looks like he might need some stitches.
While this happens the mother is having a garage sale, Woody tries to go down there to save this toy named Wheezy (why’s he called Wheezy? Because his voice box got ruined).
So she’s selling him, but Woody ain’t about to let a toy get sent away, unfortunately, though he gets discovered by this chubby dude named Al McWhiggin.
He picks up Woody and steals him, Buzz tries to go after him but all he gets view of is the license plate. What they piece together is this Al McWhiggin works at a toy store where he dresses as a chicken, that is degrading.
So now the gang has to hunt down Woody to save him, where’s Woody being taken to? Easy on display in Japan for an auction.
Along with a couple of other toys who were a part of a TV show that Woody was a part of, their names are
Stinky Pete (voiced by Kelsey Grammer)
Jessie
Bullseye (the horse)
Stinky Pete shows Woody all the merch that came from his show, how they didn’t sell and now they are being taken to an auction in Japan.
BTW the gang makes their way to the toy store to try to find Woody, instead what happens is the gang gets separated. BuzzLightyear finds a mass row of BuzzLightyear toys.
He goes into a display container that has a new BuzzLightyear with a blue belt, this BuzzLightyear wakes up and is as delusional as BuzzLightyear was in the first film.
He puts our BuzzLightyear away in a box until the Starfleet Comand activates them, uh oh. Then this new BuzzLightyear bumps into the gang and goes with them.
Also, Zurg breaks loose and wants to get revenge on BuzzLightyear, will the gang be able to save Woody? Will they figure out they have the wrong BuzzLightyear? Will they stop the evil Emperor Zurg?
Find out in the spoilers, but first, let’s get the rating out of the way. Overall yeah I actually enjoyed this film a lot. When people talk about great sequels, this goes up there with great sequels.
Me personally this is where the franchise peaked, kinda went downhill a small bit after this but hey the last 2 films aren’t bad.
Also, I love the new characters we get introduced to here, so overall I’ll give Pixar Toy Story 2 a solid 10/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned.
____________________________________________________
Tim to spoil the 3rd act, so the gang makes it to Woody where turns out Woody doesn’t want to leave I guess, because.
Also, what’s Jessie’s story? She was abandoned by her owner, so she’s kinda resentful that Woody wants to leave and go back to his owner.
Also, the real BuzzLightyear shows up. Both BuzzLightyear argue “I’m the real BuzzLightyear! No am!”.
As the gang leaves, and Woody tries to get Jessie to leave with him back to Andy because he thinks she will be welcomed in, guess what Stinky Pete does?
He gets out his box and locks up the vent, dunn dunnn dunnn! What a twist, yeah turns out Pete is bitter. He is demanding them to get into their boxes so they can go to Japan. Because no one bought him and he stayed on the shelf.
So Woody and Jessie and Pete and Bullseye get packed up and taken to the airport, and now the gang has to follow them (time for Pizza Truck cameo). The gang rides it to the airport.
But right after encountering Zurg who shows up in the vents, we get a ha-ha funny recreation of the Empire Strikes Back where the new BuzzLightyear says u killed my father.
Zurg says no BuzzLightyear I am ur father, nooooooo! Our BuzzLightyear pushes him off the elevator and the new BuzzLightyear looks down and reaches his arm put and says Father.
Oh ha ha, oh they both do get a happy ending where they are both playing catch with a ball together. That’s cute, well guess that’s the end of blue belt BuzzLightyear.
So they get there, and sneak in through a dog cage (don’t ask me how that works).
They make it into the backroom where all the conveyor belts are and where the luggage is get taken into, it’s this giant maze of them.
Woody gets saved but Pete gets out and attacks Woody by unstitching his stitches, saying to him “Ur chance Woody u can go to Japan intact or in pieces, if he fixed u once he can fix u again, now get into the box!”.
Wow, Stinky Pete is evil, he’s then blinded by BuzzLightyear who’s using a camera with a flash on.
They then send him off to some random girl’s backpack where he’s now gonna be played with for all eternity hehehehe.
Anyways so Jessie wasn’t able to make it out of the box, she gets transfered onto the plane. So Woody and BuzzLightyear right Bullseye up to the plane that’s already moving.
Yeah, the stakes have officially gotten higher in this film, he then uses his cord to swing up to the plane, he sneaks in, and saves Jessie. They get off and climb down the wheel that’s about to close.
Uh oh, so Woody has one last ditch effort to use his cord to swing them across onto Bullseye’s back.
Jessie is uncertain because that episode was canceled before they figured out if Woody was able to make it by jumping across a cliff on Bullseye.
So time to test it here, it works. They swing onto Bullseye’s back and they then watch the plane take off, anyways they make it back to Andy’s
Oh, and Wheezy Is back, this time he’s been fixed so the film ends with a song sequence. Well, that’s a first for this franchise. Plz never again.
Anyways the end, I hope y’all enjoyed this review.
