Toy Story: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

BTW before we start I want to mention something a fact if u will, recently I learned something about Pixar movies that has made me have a new respect for Pixar employees.

At the Carnegie Science Center out here in Pittsburgh, they had a Pixar exhibit. What I learned at the exhibit well no wonder why they got so many team members working on a single film.

Turns out that just to render in 1 frame it takes up to 32 hours for the computer to do so, keep in mind there’s 1 frame per 24 sections.

Yeah, I don’t envy that job, but it does make me have a new found respect. Everyone should give applause to the amazing animators who brought these Pixar films to life.

Anyways that’s right today we’re reviewing this timeless classic. But first, let’s give a rundown of the plot,

On Andy’s birthday, he gets a new toy to add to his toy collection which consists of

Woody (voiced by Tom Hanks)

Bo Peep

Mr. Potatoe Head

Slinky

Hamm

Rex

Also, my favorite lines from Woody when his string is pulled, are

“There’s a snake in my boot”

“Somebody’s poisoned the water hole”

So this new toy is named BuzzLightyear, he’s a Space Ranger (he’s voiced by Tim Allen).

Also, Buzz is kinda delusional, he thinks he’s a real Space Ranger and that he can fly, he doesn’t think he’s a toy or know what that is. But Woody can see right through him.

Heck, he tries calling him out, then tries to murder him because he is jealous that he took the spot of Andy’s favorite Toy.

Anyways Woody gets taken by Andy to this place called Pizza Planet, Buzz hitches a ride on the car. They argue,

You are a toy!

You are a sad strange little man

Lolo

Btw something never made sense to me, I’d BuzzLightyear doesn’t think he’s a toy. Then why would he freeze in place and pretend to be a toy when Andy comes into the room?

Anyways they go inside where they find themselves in this Claw Machine that’s filled with Little 3 eyed alien toys. Who looks at the Claw as their leader.

Just then this psycho kid named Sid (who is wearing a skeleton shirt) comes In and uses the Claw. He snatches up Woody and Buzz and an alien.

They are taken to his nightmare of a room where they essentially find mutilated toys that have been Frankensteined up back again to some monstrosity.

Will Woody and Buzz make it out? Will they make it back to Andy before he and his baby sister, and mother move? Y’all will find out in the spoilers.

But first the rating, overall I still absolutely love this film. I will constantly go back and rewatch it, also I remember this film being the first VHS tape I have back then.

Yeah VHS tape, how many of y’all remember those? So I’ll give Pixar Toy Story a solid 10/10, the animations surr haven’t aged all that well but it does add to that charm.

Time to spoil the 3rd act, eventually BuzzLightyear catches a glimpse of him on the TV, and he realizes he’s a toy because it was promoting him as a toy.

Well, BuzzLightyear is now having a midlife crisis, heck he tries to fly off the railing and instead, he falls and his arm falls off.

He’s later found by Woody in the sister’s room having tea with her toys.

Also, BuzzLightyear might be drunk or gone absolutely nuts.

“Don’t u get it! U see the hat!? I am Ms. Nesbitt! Hahahahah”

Yeah, BuzzLightyear has lost it, so eventually BuzzLightyear that night gets tied to a rocket by Sid because he wants to launch him into space, Woody the next day decides to recruit Sids toys to traumatize Sid and teach him a lesson.

And save BuzzLightyear, all the while Andy and his family are driving to their new house.

So as Sid is about to launch BuzzLightyear, Woody is picked up by Sid because he starts talking to Sid. Then all the toys come popping out of the ground and surround him, he tells Sid after turning his head at 180 degree angle like the exorcist.

To play nice with his toys, he makes Sid runoff. Good maybe he will learn, so now Woody and Buzz got to make it to the pickup truck that’s on the move. Unfortunately, the gang hasn’t forgiven Woody and still believes that Woody murdered BuzzLightyear earlier.

Because he was holding his severed arm, so they try to prevent him from getting on board, they grabbed ahold of the Toy RC, which they ride to the truck.

The truck and car are about to get out of their grasp and RC gets tired, luckily there’s a rocket on BuzzLightyear. So they light it up and fly in the air, they toss RC back into the truck.

BuzzLightyear and Woody fly into the roof of the car into Andy’s boxes. Yay happy ending, also the film ends on Christmas day and the toys are listening over the radio. They hear that Andy got a dog, which gets them worried for some reason.
