Reacher Season 2: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

That’s right today we’re officially reviewing Reacher Season 2. Why did it take me this long to get to reviewing this? Well in all honesty I only watched the show recently.

BTW warning I’ve never read the books, and for a long time I didn’t know the Jack Reacher film was based on the books. Thought it was its own story, that’s how out of the loop I am.

But once I found out the fans didn’t like the film Because of reasons, I just had to check this show out.

Here’s a rundown of the plot, so when one of Reacher’s team members named Calvin Franz (Reacher’s team was named the 110th Special Investigations Unit).

They were the best of the best, anyways Franz was tossed out of a helicopter. So this gets the attention of both Reacher and Frances Neagley (played by Maria Sten).

She is one of Reacher’s team members, also she helped him out in Season 1 (I forgot to mention that). So now they have to find out who has done this. But the first time to contacted the others, unfortunately, they were only able to get ahold of 2 other members who were named

Karla Dixon (played by Serinda Swan)

David O’Donnell (played by Shaun Sipos)

The original team reunites to team up, they try to visit another member named Tony Swan.

Instead, all they found was his dead dog, no not the doggy. This makes Reacher mad, the dog died of thirst and Tony is missing. Presumably dead or something worse.

They uncover there’s something fishy going on, someone is going after the 110th Special Investigations Unit.

This all gets tied to this businessman named Shane Langston (played by Robert Patrick) (yes that’s right the T-1000 from Terminator 2 is in this show) of course he’s the villain.

Is that really a surprise? Anyways so what’s the villain’s motivation? Why is he killing off the 110th Special Investigations Unit? Is Tony involved in this evil plan?

Find out more when I spoil the 3rd act and the revelations in the spoiler section. For now time for rating, overall I loved this season.

Also yes this entire series is pulpy, for example, a villain is going around murdering people and then handing out a comic book he’s hosting to a random kid while explaining to them why he loves comics.

Like I said pulpy.

Btw It still continues to be a fun time as the first season. This time the stakes are amped up because some rich ass hole is after Reacher and his men so overall I’ll give Reacher Season 2 a solid 10/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all have been warned ⚠️.

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revelations, so why did the villain kill off 1 or 2 of Reacher’s team? It’s because this entire time he served as a crucial piece of information for Reacher to uncover the truth behind the drug operation and the corruption within the local government.

Oh so it’s a cover-up, and what’s the villains motivation/plan? Easy to create these missiles that auto-target a thing and head towards it. Then sell it to the highest bidder, get paid and retire on a beach.

Wow, truly the most evil corrupt thing anyone could possibly do, retire on a beach. JK,

Oh this entire time there’s been this cop who’s been following Reacher, he’s named Detective Russo. For most of this show, Reacher believes he’s a corrupt cop, turns out he’s not. He’s a loyal cop, he decides to help put Reacher because they both want the same thing.

Reacher realizes he’s a good cop when at the funeral of his friend Franz, he sees Russo being nice to Franz’s kid. He then shelters Franz’s kid when 2 assassins come out of nowhere and try to attack them, at a funeral nonetheless. That’s cold even for them.

Anyways he gets suspicious that someone in the system leaked info on where Reacher would be. Turns out it’s his old cop leader who taught him everything, turns out he’s been paid by these crooks and he just wants the money.

Shocker, oh btw This leads Russo to essentially say F u, then Reacher asks Russo to take this woman’s daughter into protective custody (who is this woman? She works for Highland Security and she sent Reacher and the team the wrong info on purpose because Shane forced her to)

So they are gonna use her as bait to lure him out, it kinda works but 2 things happen.

1.  Seems they were already 1 step ahead of Reacher because his men attacked Reacher and the team at the meet-out.

2.  Some of them locate Russo and the mid who are driving away in a car to his cousin’s house, so a chase happens.

This btw leads to Russo being killed off, he gets shot protecting the girl. He dies in France’s arms, a good man died so Jack Reacher decides to pay a visit to Russo’s previous boss.

He tells the guy to use the phone to turn himself in, instead, he tries grabbing a gun so Reacher shoves the table in him, he demands he tells him everything.

Turns out he knows where Shane is hiding out at, he has been paying this cop to keep Russo away from all this. He told them about Russo admitting to him that he’s suspicious of him and knows that he’s a corrupt cop and onto Shane.

Reacher lets go and says see being a good cop isn’t hard, u should tell Russo. Oh wait u can’t (blam) he shoots him, btw if u think that murder is dark. I didn’t even get to the darkest murder he did in this show.

He goes to the hospital to interrogate one of Shane’s men who’s in the hospital, because he survived getting shot at, that’s also what that corrupt cop tells him. The guy doesn’t tell him much of course.

But Jack does torture him to give him info by I wish I was kidding he tells him he has a catheter in him and how it works is there’s a balloon in his inflated in his penis holding it in place, if of fill it up with air it will inflate and blow up like a Pinata including his urethra.

Uhhhhhhhhh, all the while Frances is covering the guy’s mouth to keep him quiet.

Yikes, but hold on folks we’ve not got to the dark part, even after the guy gives Reacher the info of where Shane is gonna be. He stops and says well Lucky for u if ur urethra blows up from the inside it will look suspicious, especially if they check security and see us walking in here.

On the other hand, if u have an embolism after a car accident, then no one will suspect a thing.

So he injects the guy’s tube with the syringe and it causes his to flat line. After having a seizure, yeah that’s dark. Good job Reacher.

So anyway they call up Shane, turns out Shane captured Karla Dixon and David O’Donnell, he wants Jack to meet him there so they can tie him up otherwise his friends will die.

Reacher uses this opportunity to lie that France is dead so it isn’t suspicious she doesn’t show up, and this gives her the chance to be outside to shoot the guards and break in.

He then calls up this corrupt senator who helped make these missiles, who now wants Reacher to get rid of Shane and the missiles, he asks for some of his men and he offers Reacher the help, in exchange no info about his involvement comes out.

So Reacher gets there he gets tied up and tortured, turns out Tony isn’t in on this he’s been dead. They have his eyeball in a jar which they have been using to get past eye scans.

The whole plan is to frame Tony to make it look like he ran off with the money and left his dog to die.

Right sorry side thing, in this season we get back flashes to when the 110th Special Investigations Unit was created, the reason they were dispatched is because they were told not to go after this corrupt drug operation.

But they decided to anyway, this drug operation was happening within the military. They stop drug dealing from happening, they arrest the military men who were involved.

The thanks Reacher and his team get is being dispatched, wow that’s lawfully unfair.

Moving on, so Shane realizes France is still alive and asks where she is, she starts to break in and attack. Reacher escapes his bonds, Shane has his men role Kala and David onto the helicopter so they can be tossed out and meet the same fate as Franz did.

As the helicopter is about to take off with Shane inside, Reacher jumps onto the helicopter wheel and gets inside. He fights off Shane and one of his men, but Kayla gurney roles outside so Reacher grabs ahold of it all while this goon is above him with a knife shoved into his arm.

Kayla unties herself and grabs the knife out of Reacher’s arm and stabs the guy with it.

She rolls back on the helicopter with the knife and goes up to the pilot and forces him to land the helicopter safely.

Reacher takes a punch at Shane and grabs him, Shane tries to reason with him and give him info. He says that’s the info u think I wanted? In investigation assumptions kill!

Then he tosses Shane out of the helicopter, oh the cruel irony, anyways They land the helicopter at a barn and meet up with one of Shane’s informants who’s this hitman named A.M (played by Ferdinand Kingsley) he tells them he’s the middle man (Liar he’s an assassin who’s been killing people).

So they shoot him to death, next up is going to grab the missiles, so they go to the barn and there are 2 scientists. They allow them to get on the helicopter and they test the missile on the helicopter when it takes off, it works and shoots down the helicopter.

Just then the 2 men who got sent by the senator turn on them and say we were hired to take u out After, Reacher calls up the senator and reveals he’s had a backup plan this whole time.

He got the help of the FBI to help out, then they came in to arrest the senator, and then some FBI came to save Reacher and the team. They leave with the case of money after saying they don’t have the money.

What do they do with this money? Glad u asked, Jack is left to determine that, so Jack gives money to

Himself

His friends of course, but the Caviot to David is he put the money in his kid’s ban account, how sweet.

He sends money to that highland security woman and her kid.

He sends money to a dog shelter because of vengeance for Tony’s dog.

He sends money to Franz’s wife and child.

He also helps pay for France’s father to be taken care of because he’s going through illnesses.

He is a good friend, btw Jack with his money all he wants is a toothbrush. But uh Karla convinces him to buy himself something else.

Also, remember how I said in the first season how he doesn’t allow dating or anything to hold him down? Well in this season he admits he always loved his team member Karla and she is in love with him. She wants him to date her.

Even though they do have sex together in this season, he still decides to leave at the end of the show. Luckily for Karla, she understands Reacher and is supportive.

Anyway, Reacher does buy himself something, he buys a permanent bus pass that lasts forever. Honestly, that’s a great investment because if ur a loner and out on ur own, u kinda have to get around.

So both Reacher and France say bye to each other, and she gives him a number to contact her whenever they want to chat. Because she doesn’t just see Reacher as a Sargent.

She sees him as a friend, anyway the end. I am absolutely excited for Reacher season 3, it airs Feb 20th. I’ll wait till all 8 episodes is out to binge watch, so give me 2 months fellas.
