Reacher Season 1: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

That’s right folks we finally reviewing Reacher Season 1. Why did it take me this long to get to reviewing this? Well in all honesty I only watched the show recently.

BTW warning I’ve never read the books, and for a long time I didn’t know the Jack Reacher film was based on the books. Thought it was its own story, that’s how out of the loop I am.

But once I found out the fans didn’t like the film Because of reasons, I just had to check this show out.

Here’s a rundown of the plot, after this loner who’s 7 foot tall named Jack Reacher (play3d by Alan Ritchson) comes rolling into town at a Cafe to get some pie, he’s arrested on suspicion of a murder that happened on the side of the road.

He gets introduced to 2 cops named Roscoe Conklin and Oscar Finlay.

Turns out no he’s not the killer, there’s something afoot here. Turns out Reacher is an ex-military general who now has no ID, no passport, no cellphone, no house, no house number, nothing.

He’s essentially a ghost, the guy is the ultimate loner, and he doesn’t live in a house. He doesn’t meet houses and money holds him down, he lives on the streets, and he also finds motels to stay in.

He buys clothes from good will, the only thing he carries is a toothbrush and his credit card which he gets money from the government.

Also, he finds out his brother who he hasn’t seen for a while has been murdered and that he might been tied to some illegal dealings.

So Reacher stays to help. This leads the 3 of them to come to the realization they are dealing with corruption in the police station, no one is to be trusted but the 3 of them.

This all comes to light when some cops such as the previous commissioner were found brutally murdered in their homes.

So they make it their goal to stop the corrupt cops. All while avoiding 2 guys who are in charge named

Grover (who’s head of the police station now, also has a cane with a diamond on the top of it)

Kinler Sr. (Senator who’s funding this investigation)

KJ Kinler (Kinler Sr.’s Son who’s known around the town as bad news, along with his posse)

Oh and on top of all that they must put this guy named Paul Hubble, wife and daughters in protective custody because he may or may not have ties in with this corruption.

Also, he might be on the run or might be dead which Reacher assumes he’s dead, also Reacher had the privilege to meet Paul while in prison where both of them were sent to so he can get info from Hubble.

So for protection, they gain the help of a friend named Picard, who offers to keep the family in protective custody. So can our 3 main characters crack the case and solve the murders? That’s all I’ll say but y’all will find out in spoilers where I spoil the 3rd act (meaning the final episodes and every revelation we get).

Anyway time for the rating, overall I loved this show, however, I do have a small gripe with this show, it’s that when the villains reveal themselves in the second to last episode. They admit their entire evil plans to Reacher and Finley.

Plus they just start taunting our main character (well one of them does), now tell me something why just why? Why tell ur main enemy who can stop u? Ur entire evil plans?

This is a stupid move, also why taunt the 7-foot guy who can knock u out in 2 hits? How does this benefit u? It doesn’t, all they are missing is a mustache so they can twirl.

They are one step away from being Saturday morning cartoon villains.

One last thing this show does have a sense of humor that I love, for example one scene he gets attacked in an alleyway by a goon so he kills him by hanging him off a ladder with his tie. He’s later picked up by Finley at the airport and he tells Finley he encountered another goon.

Finley asks so what did u do? Which Reacher says “I did hangman” (scoffs) sorry I know that’s dark but it’s funny.

One last thing this show does slightly tackle a heavy subject, of racism. To give u an idea Finley is a black cop in a small town in a rural town in the south. Yeah u get the Picture here don’t u?

So overall I’ll give Reacher Season 1 a solid 9/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned ⚠️.

So time to spoil the 3rd act and any revaluations, so in the 2nd to past episode we find out who’s the truly corrupt ones,

It’s Grover

KJ Kinler

Picard

Yep Picard is one of them, dunn dunn dunnn. So the 3 of them hold Reacher and Finley at gun point. Tells them that they have Roscoe and Paul Hubbles family tied up at their factory where they illegally repurpose money into untraceable money.

So they can sell to make a profit, oh and KJ Kinler taunts Reacher by telling him he killed his brother also that he killed his own father, yeah 2ish episodes ago his dad was found dead. Yes his dad di set up this entire crime organization.

So no one is losing sleep over that death, but also why the hell would this brat taunt. Oh right he’s a brat a spoiled brat that’s why, nevermind.

So he forces Reacher to locate Paul and bring him to them so they can kill him, so Picard goes with Reacher and has a gun at him this whole time.

He takes him to a diner, he has a gun at him.

In the car ride, he has a gun at him.

Luckily Reacher took a fork and jabbed the cars tire so he could get out and have an excuse to shoot Picard. Which he does, he then escapes and finds Paul.

By tracking down his allies he would go under, they then meet up with Finley who’s being held up by a corrupt cop, Reacher rams the car into the police station killing the cop and freeing Finley.

BTW Paul Hubble was hired to be KJ Kinler Sr.’s Financial guy, he tries to blackmail him telling him he’s already in on this and knows too much.

So he locked him up at the horse farm to force him to work for him, what a monster. No wonder why Paul is scared and went in hiding.

So now they grab some guns from the station, Reachers friend shows up and helps out. They plan to go to the factory kill them and save Hubbles family.

So Reachers friend stays outside to be the sniper, while they 3 of them sneak in while Hubble goes to rescue his kids.

They create a distraction by pouring gasoline through the little creak under the metal door then then lit it on fire, this causes the money to stay burning then an explosion happens. So the dire starts to spread everywhere.

This gives Jack time to come in and shoot the guards, so Jack saves Roscoe and Hubbles wife, Roscoe fights against Grover, for revenge because turns out he killed her father.

He didn’t die in a suicide as she thought, nah Grover murdered him to silence him, she figured it out when reexamining his corpse on file and noticed the indent in his head looked like the shape of a diamond, womp womp.

She gets to handcuff him and then shoot him in the head, Jack gets to face off against KJ Kinler for killing his brother. And who does Kinler face against? Oh right, Picard isn’t dead.

He comes back and faces against Finley, well he ain’t dead for long because Finley pushes Picard into a Presser and pushes the button which makes him go splat, uh gross.

Anyway Jack does get to have revenge for his brothers’ murder, by uh dunking KJ into a vat of flammable liquid, and then he pushes him into a pile of money that’s on fire.

Yike. So he dies by being burned alive all while screaming, so the building is about to explode so they get out of the building, hurray the day is saved.

So Reacher heads out to continue to be a loner, and, Roscoe might become the mayor to rebuild the city.

As for Finley, he’s gonna go back home in Boston where he left after his wife died, he also now has a new dog that both he ans Reacher saved from a dog abuser. Here’s that entire dog abuser scenes.
