Wizard Of Oz: Let’s firstly start by showing y’all the trailer shall we?

That’s right folks today we’re reviewing a timeless classic, mainly because I’m also reviewing

Oz The Great and Powerful

Wicked Part 1 2024

So I thought why not review this classic film, so let’s get the rating out of the way so we can get into spoilers.

Overall to this day I still love this film, I find myself rewatching it when I get the chance, still love that iconic line “I’ll get u my Pretty! And your little dog too!”. That line lives rent-free in my head.

Side note this film apparently had some bad luck behind the scenes, for example, the original actor they wanted to play the Tinman couldn’t play the role because of the paint they used. Well, he was badly allergic to it.

The actress who played Dorothy fell into deep depression down the line of her life after this film, during the scene when the Wicked Witch puffed away in smoke and flames. His coat did catch on fire a bit.

Yeah, this film went through hell but they pushed through, there’s more but I won’t bring them all up. Also last thing I do recommend watching this film I’d some y’all haven’t already.

Here’s a rundown of the plot, on one unfaithful day. Dorothy’s dog has made enemies with their rude ass neighbor for the last time, she wants the dog gone. Or dead, either works for her.

Things get a whole lot worse when a tornado comes out of nowhere in her city of Kansas, the tornado leads them to Oz where her house crash lands on The Wicked Witch’s sister. She has on red ruby slippers.

The Wicked Witch shows up and wants those ruby slippers for some reason, but Glenda protects Dorothy, well I say protect but this woman is barely any help.

She summons the slippers onto Dorothy and tells the Witch now it can’t come off her, dude Glenda just gives her the slippers. All she wants is the slippers. She then basically tells the Witch to F off.

I’ll get u my Pretty and your little dog too!

Then Glenda tells Dorothy she has to go on a mission to go visit the Wizard Of Oz to ask him to get her home (although what we know later on, this is all Malarky). Plz keep that in mind for later.

So she follows the yellow brick road and meets

Scarecrow

Cowardly Lion

Tinman

Where they go on an adventure to go see the wonderful Wizard Of Oz, Tinman wants a heart, Scarecrow wants a brain and Cowardly Lion just wants to not be a coward.

Will Dorothy get home? Will Tinman get his heart? Will Cowardly Lion not become a coward? Will Scarcrow get his brain? Will the Wicked Witch get her slippers? Will the Wicked Witch die?

So I’ll give The Wizard Of Oz a solid 10/10, warning spoilers ahead (if anyone cares) y’all been warned.

So time to spoil the 3rd act, so they get to the Wizard, who’s this giant green floating head. He demands they go kill The Wicked Witch then he will grant their wishes.

So now they have to go find the Witch, luckily ain’t too hard to find her since she sent out her flying monkeys to try to hunt them down.

So they get to her castle, where the Witch sets the scarecrow’s arm on fire, so Dorothy grabs a bucket of water nearby and tosses it on Scarecrow’s arm.

But the water splashes onto the Witch which makes her melt, ahhh I’m melting I’m melting, what a world what a world. Here’s my question if water is her weakness then why would she keep a bucket of water nearby?

Doesn’t matter if she’s dead now, or is she? I say that because, well I’d love to say but that’s spoiling something ahead of time.

Anyway so they go back to the Wizard, he decides to not grant them their wishes, they scold him and they find a curtain with him behind it.

Turns out he’s but a con man, he’s no Wizard. The guy has no powers. Anyways he tells Tintin hey here’s a heart for u, he gives him a clock in the shape of a watch, cool I guess?

He then tells Scarecrow he has always had a brain, and gives Cowardly Lion a certificate of bravery. Get it because he’s been brave!

Then he gives Dorothy a hot air balloon to get out of there, and he just decides to leave with Dorothy and leave her behind. What a dick.

Oh, but he might not be the biggest dick, that title goes to Glenda, she tells Dorothy oh those slippers u had the power to go home all this time, all u have to do is tap her shoes 3 times and say there’s no place like home.

You have got to be fucking kidding me? Ur telling me this entire time she could have gone home and u sent her on this useless crusade for no reason? Yeah, Glenda ur terrible.

Anyways happy ending she goes back home. As in she wakes up, guess this was all a dream? Idk anyway the end. Hope y’all enjoyed this review and see y’all next time.
