Late Night With The Devil: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

So I firstly wanna mention that the actor who plays the main character (David Dastmalchian) he’s starting to make his way in Hollywood….what got this guy noticed in the first place was in The Dark Knight as that weird-eyed smiling henchman of Joker…..that made people say holy shite who’s this guy?

Then he went on to play in the first 2 Antman movies…Then in The Suicide Squad 2021 James Gunn film…..and then The Last Voyage of The Demeter, then finally now this film…so he’s been in 2 horror movies as of late….this guy is really doing a great job in Hollywood…I wish him the best of luck, can’t wait to see more movies he will be in….

BTW this movie isn’t high-budgeted, heck this movie had like 20 different studies including Shudder….who helped fund them to make this movie, I kid u not when I saw this film in the theatre (which only lasted in theaters for 1 month) when the movie started before it even started, they show 20 different studios…

I was like damn how many studios did this film have help funding? Btw after 1 month, this film went straight to Shudder, but I’m glad I got the chance to see this in theatres…that was an experience for sure….

On a side note, this film had trailers that weren’t mainstream trailers, they were like lower-budget horror movies…there’s a trailer for a movie called Cuckoo…don’t know what that is. Well, I’ll show u a trailer here, why? Idk I just want to…now get off my back…

Somehow the trailers before this movie seemed more interesting than trailers u see for mainstream blockbuster films as of late….except for Dune Part 2 and Kingdom of The Planet of The Apes and Furiosa…those 3 movies were great….

Also, I wanna warn some y’all, as of late AI has been a controversial thing when it’s being mentioned in the business industry….so that might affect some y’all because turns out some scenes in this film used AI art….now I didn’t notice it so I can’t point those moments out…

But I bet someone who hated AI definitely can and would have already…let’s be honest, so i just wanted to warn y’all on that especially if AI doesn’t sit well with a lot of y’all

So without further a due let’s get the rating out of the way so we can talk about spoilers…

Overall I absolutely loved this movie, I wouldn’t say it’s scary but overall I did enjoy it…so I’ll give this film a solid 9/10…warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned.

Ok so in this film we will be spending the next 1 hour and a half (I think) here in this live shoe studio….we get introduced to our main show host named Jack Delroy (played by David Dastmalchian)..

Anyways he sits down with 2 people named

Carmichael (this skeptic who doesn’t believe in the paranormal, he writes a check in which he says if anyone can prove to me I’m wrong I’ll pay said person 200 dollars, here’s the check)

Christou (a guy who says he can talk to spirits via then possessing them)

If ur wondering why he’s inviting a guy on live TV who says he can walk to ghosts. And a guy who’s a skeptic? Well, it’s because for u see Jack Delroy lost his wife to cancer a couple of years back, shortly afterward his career as a popular late-night host started going down, and views were at an all-time low…so he made a deal with the devil? I think…

This film is vague, so that’s what I interpreted out of this….do the devil apparently offered him success for his late night….and in a last-ditch attempt Delroy wants to do something spooky on live TV for the Halloween season…perfect timing, he believes showing live demonic possession or ghost on TV will gain the views…

Well, he ain’t wrong but at the same time, I wouldn’t do this…anyways after him channeling in spirits, the skeptic tries to reveal this is all a hoax…that the fog that shows up around him is from a fog machine, just then the guy starts groaning in pain…black ooze comes out of his mouth, his eyes roll in the back of his head…he gets escorted out to an ambulance. Of course, the skeptic believes that’s a trick…

BTW I wanna mention that throughout this film there are times when they take breaks, and cut to add then the way the director differentiates the live show footage from backstage footage is every time they say cut and go on break the film turns to black, and white….that’s clever….

Also, Delroy’s boss shows up and motivates him…..also later Delroy finds out that the guy passed away in the ambulance…he keeps this news away from the skeptic for now….

BTW this film feels like an authentic late-night show. Where we get a live audience, the host does random planned performances with different people on stage…. has live musicians playing off on the side…

So they go back live, Delroy brings on stage…2 people named

June Ross and her child patient named Lilly D’abo….

She presumably has the ability to communicate with the dead via them possessing her….oohhh can’t wait to see this backfire…of course, the skeptic isn’t buying any of this mumbo jumbo…

The skeptic watches as the girl communicates in a demon voice to June Rose….she has her stop eventually, and the skeptic isn’t buying any of this of course…so he comes up with a plan for after the next break…so they go on break, June wants Lilly to not do that again…she says enough is enough, but Jack Delroy wants her to continue…because he’s getting tons of views..

They both beg June…she reluctantly agrees, even though she’s not happy with Delroy because he’s manipulating this little girl…also on break the skeptic finds out that other guy who communicated with the dead earlier had died in the ambulance…don’t worry that doesn’t become important at all…

So after break, they go back live on TV…where the skeptic has Lilly take a seat across from him on stage….he places 2 seats down…he pulls out a watch to hypnotize her…because he believes Lilly has been hypnotized into believing she’s talking to a demon….also the crew turn on fog machine to add to the atmosphere…

Anyways after doing his test, he tries to show them how this could all be a ruse…..so in a last ditch effort to prove the guy wrong the woman talks to the girl….just then this energy wave pushes them away, then her head splits open with a bright light appears in her head…

So now the skeptic believes in the supernatural…so he tries handing her the check…but instead, she burns the check including him…..yikes, the woman gets strangled to death…

Anyways Delroy gets knocked out, and everyone evacuates….we get to see back a flash of everything I mentioned earlier…

His wife died.

His show was going downhill.

He made a deal with the devil. Including satanic worshipers in the forest.

Anyway the film ends with him waking up to all the carnage in front of him…oh and police sirens going off in the background….oh he’s definitely 100% gonna be framed for all this…they will believe he killed them…the end..

Honestly I enjoyed this film, was I scared? Hell no but it was still enjoyable….anyways hope y’all enjoyed the reveiw, also here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on….till next time…
