Scream 6

Scream 6:

Oh boy, where do I begin with this….. First wanna set the record straight I’m in no way a Scream fan like at all I’ve only ever before this film saw the first film….which I didn’t care much for at all, so I bet y’all are wondering why I went to see Scream 6 then. Also here are the trailers enjoy

Let’s get a rating out of the way, welk honestly overall ehh…IDK I just never understood the hype around The Scream franchise…so I’m not as invested as the fan base is….so I’ll be giving this film a solid 7/10…

Ok from here on our warning ⚠️ spoilers ahead y’all been warned…

So this film is a direct sequel to Scream 5 btw but before I get to that….this film opens up differently that’s for sure, it opens up with a teenage girl at a bar waiting for her teacher to show up to help her with a homework project….uh huh sure I wonder what homework project requires to go to a bar….but I cannot blame the girl for this one….it’s the teacher’s fault he told her to meet him there….honestly if I got a call up from my teacher who ended up saying hey meet me at a bar so we can meet each other to do your homework project…

I’d first ask him ok why a bar? And then I’d hang up and leave…..because that’s all sorts of suspicious right there….even if he’s not a killer, clearly, he isn’t thinking about helping with homework….he’s thinking about something else, and that something else is a big damn yikes…

So anyways she’s at the bar, she doesn’t see him…he calls her up telling her he needs help…he lures her to the alleyway where Ghostface kills her….hey wait a minute it’s the teacher, what a twist….except not really…but then another Ghostface shows up and kills him…ohh the plot thickens…

So anyway now going to our 2 main characters

Sam Carpenter (played by Melissa Barrera).

Tara Carpenter (played by Jenna Ortega).

BTW before I go any further I wanna mention that last year Melissa Barrera said something on social media that got her fired for ever appearing in any future Scream movies, Jenna Ortega left because Melissa got fired….good on her…

So without Jenna Ortega returning, I’m just gonna quit this series now….

Anyways Sam Carpenter seeks out therapy but her therapist tries to call the police when she opens up and reveals she’s an offspring of the original Ghostface killer…because everyone In town for some reason has marked these 2 girls as evil….got it..

On the other hand, Tara is coping by staying up late, going partying…drinking away while trying to find a date….well, I guess that’s one way to cope, no that doesn’t mean u should go out and do any of that if ur mentally struggling…just go get help…

So they both end up getting roommates named…

Quinn Bailey

Ethan Landry

Their friend’s names are

Mindy Meeks Martin

Her brother Chad Meeks Martin

Other character’s names are…

Detective Bailey

Gale Weathers (the news reporter)

FBI Agent Kirby Reed

Anyways so eventually one night while both sisters are over at their 2 friends’ apartments that’s across there’s, they witness Ghostface enter their room and kill Quinn Bailey…..while Ghostface looks over at them and taunts them

The next day the cops call in, and so is her dad…who’s the detective, he’s not happy because his daughter is dead…so he swears to find the killer…also the news reporter is here, Jenna Ortega’s character slaps her because the last time they saw her she promised she wouldn’t publicize that her sister is related to the original Ghostface and make a profit off of it…but she did so behind there back…yeah, I can see why they are mad at her..

Thanks to her everyone hates the 2 sisters, they’ve become outcasts….also if by now ur wondering wait isn’t this film supposed to take place in New York? Where’s the New York? Don’t worry will get to that soon….

Actually let’s just now talk about the end of the second act and the third act…so near the end of the second act, Ghostface finds and attacks the journalist…..in all honesty, I forget if she dies or not, that’s how forgettable she is…that or I joined this franchise a bit too late because this is the first scream move I’ve ever seen…

Remember that detective lady? She shows the gang an abandoned theatre that has now become some sort of shrine to the previous Ghostface killers, including the original Ghostface killer….our main character Sam Carpenter goes up to the displayed suit and sees a hallucination of the first Ghostface killer…

He’s talking to her telling her she’s like him, yeah in this film I did allude to her struggling with the fact she’s related to him….so come the third act the gang heads onto a New York subway train…yeah turns out they’ve been in New York this whole time….not like u can tell because this film underutilized the location poorly…

U would think for a movie that’s taking place in New York they’d show us the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building….or have the final battle in either of those…but nope instead what we see in this film is 2 apartment building, some alleyways a street and a glimpse at a park…and now an abandoned theatre and a subway…

Wow, this really reminds me of how The Walking Dead underutilized New York City in The Negan and Maggie spinoff show titled The Walking Dead Dead City….what’s with these IPs getting the rights to film In New York City and not utilizing the city to its fullest potential in screen?

Anyways so on the train, they are keeping an eye on Ethan because Mindy doesn’t trust him and believes he’s the Ghostface killer because he keeps on not being around them, away from them when the Ghostface killer comes…then he randomly shows up after the killer leaves, yep that’s sus…

So Mindy starts spotting a Ghostface on the train, the issue is they can’t tell if it’s the Ghostface killer or not because it’s Halloween night and everyone on the train is dressed up…so maybe someone is dressed up for Halloween? Nope!

So every time they go under a tunnel and it becomes pitch black, the killer moves closer and closer….the killer gets up to Mindy and stabs her, womp womp so now she needs medical attention….also clearly Ethan isn’t the killer because he was sitting there the whole time….right?

Also, another Ghostface killer shows up but this time at the news reporter’s apartment, he starts stalking her….she gets a bit of the upper hand by slapping Ghostface multiple times with items…

As soon as she tries to escape a second Ghostface shows up! And stabs her…the gang shows up, she apologizes to them, and if I remember correctly she dies? That or she survived and I just forget because she’s unforgettable…

So anyways the gang heads to the old theatre now Ghostface museum where they plan to lure Ghostface out, along with the help of Detective Bailey…he wants to bring the killer to justice for killing his daughter…understandable….

BTW while this is happening FBI Kirby is digging through something relating to Bailey…she finds something that shocks her so she runs on out….but what did she find out?

Anyway the 2 sisters get into an argument because Sam doesn’t trust Chad Meeks. After all, Tara only met him a day ago and is in love with him……so she has a talk with Chad at the main entrance of the theatre. Turns out Chad isn’t the killer because the Ghostface killer shows up behind him and stabs him dunn dunn dun…

So he’s dead? Nooooo Tara is sad….but Sam yanks her away, while the Ghostface killer chases them…just then a second killer shows up….they get cornered in the theatre room….detective Bailey times a gun at the 2 killers…yayy shoots them…

Just then Agent Kirby aims a gun at Bailey…she tells the girls not to trust him, she finds out he only became a detective shortly after the murder of his son…..uh oh…

Just then plot twist, Bailey shoots Kirby dunnn dunnn dunnn….the 2 killers reveal themselves to be Quinn Bailey and Ethan…..wait I thought she died? Guess not…guess it was scripted…

Also, the group already knew Ethan was the killer but still….but here’s the gimic for this film…there aren’t just 2 Ghostface killers ..no there are 3…yeah Detective Bailey is also the Ghostface killer…

What a twist, so turns out the 3 of them planned all this to kill the 2 sisters for killing his son last year……jeepers this is a bit much if u ask me…

Anyways the 2 sisters run away to the second floor…they get cornered by Quinn while Ethan stays down there…..the 2 girls start walking on the railing….then Tara falls off the railing so Sam has to grab her…all while avoiding Quinn who’s walking up to them with a knife….

Also, Ethan is down there trying to use his knife to stab Tara….what a monster….

Anyway she lets Tara go because she says let me go trust me…so she lands on Ethan and she stabs him with a knife, while Sara stabs Quinn….now the dad is devastated that they just killed both his kids…well this is 100 all ur fault dude…what kinda father are u? Training, then letting them in on a plan to murder 2 people who murdered their sibling….

Father of the year ain’t I right? So anyway Sara sees a reflection of the original Ghostface killer in the glass display of his suit and knife…he tells her to grab the knife and that she’s one of him….oh boy where have we seen this before?

Anyway so she steals the mask, suit, and knife and starts lurking behind the curtains….the detective falls for it and tries to follow her but she starts speaking to him from everywhere as If she’s a ghost…

Anyways she sneaks up onto him and kills him, well guess that’s that….so they call an ambulance for the FBI Kirby so she’s alive….oh but she’s not the only one who’s alive….guess who else is alive? Tara’s boyfriend, say what now?

Yeah, he just pops up on the screen out of nowhere and basically says hey I’m still here and alive…..as if this was an afterthought, oh and his sister also shows up all well and fine even though she was stabbed and bleeding out on the subway…

But hey everything is all hunky dory I guess, yeah zero consequences…..this really feels like a reshoot…anyways the freaking end, dear lord glad I’m done with this one….no I’m not a fan of Scream even after this film….I’m fine, anyways hope y’all enjoyed the reveiw…here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on…till next time…
