American Mcgees Alice

American Mcgees Alice:

Let’s start by showing y’all the trailer shall we?

So where do I begin with this game, well firstly this game is definitely not meant for kids…like where do I begin…..well let’s dive into this rabbit hole of a plot shall we….hahahah see what I did there?

Let’s get the rating out of the way, well honestly I love this game I love both these games, they get a solid 10/10 from me…it’s eerie, it gives off Tim Burton vibes…..I’m all for it….anyways spoilers from here on out y’all been warned.

Anyways so in this game u play as a girl named Alice, she’s in a mental hospital…..ummmmm yeah for u see she’s there because one night at her parents house while she was sleeping a candle fell onto the floor killing her sister, and her parents so she feels guilt about letting them die….jeepers that’s dark so she’s in a mental hospital because she’s lost her sanity…..yeah, I think straight off the bat this should tell u this isn’t meant for kids….btw I quickly wanna mention that this game and the sequel is made by EA…..yeah EA surprisingly used to make great games before they became the worst company…..they gave us

Dead space

Dead space 2

American Mcgees Alice

Alice Madness Returns

Dantes Inferno

The Harry Potter film tie in games

Yeah those are really great games…..but then EA just had to shoot themselves in the feet when they got ahold of star wars…….anyways let’s get back on track I just wanted to give that piece of info

So anyways u in ur mind goes down into wonderland…..so yeah wonderland in this game is all in her mind, which I mean yeah no kidding….I never thought even in any adaptation or thr original novel that Wonderland was real….I always assumed Alice was just insane and went in her mind and got trapped there……so anyways, she finds herself in wonderland where she follows the white rabbit….u know like in the novel……..anyways the first enemies u run into is the Queen of Hearts card guards and here’s where u can tell that this game ain’t meant for kids……for u see In this game u get weapons, ur first weapon is a knife called the Vorpal blade…..and u can either cut the guards in half or decapitate them with blood coming out of them……yeahhhh definitely not for kids

So to describe this game its a linear platforming game with combat……where u will be traveling through areas of wonderland, doing some puzzles, fishing baddies….with range of weapons u will collect, my 2 favorite weapons In this game is a freeze staff that shoots ice out of it to freeze ur enemies plus the Jabberwock staff which shoots a powerful purple Lazer from it that in my honest opinion is the best weapon this game gives u……btw the other weapons in this game are toy themed…..they look like toys that children would play with, like a deck of cards which in this game u use to toss at ur enemies like ninja stars……..a jack in the box that can set enemies on fire or explode…….lolo……

So of course through this game, u will encounter iconic characters such as the Chesire cat who comes and helps u out, every now and then by pointing u the right way, giving u info about what’s been happening in Wonderland……what u need to do to stop what……anyways so make urself through Wonderland fighting enemies of different sorts, from card guards to flying demons from hell basically…..lolo

So then u also encounter the Jabberwocky where u kill him and take his eyeball gross….which u use to create a staff out of called the Jabberwocky staff….trust me when I say this…..this staff is powerful it shoots out a purple beam that insta kills anything in its way…….damn that’s a powerful staff….

Anyways u progess through the story, the Chesire Cat who as stated looks all skinny and bony, randomly appears throughout the game to help u out by giving u hints, u go through iconic Wonderland places and get to fight against enemies such as The card guards, and uhhh the Mad Hater as a boss……yeah u heard that right the Mad Hater is bad in this game, but before we get to that I also wanna mention that the main baddie is the Bloody Red Queen (wow what a shocker) and she has corrupted Wonderland….so Alice has to stop her…..oh yes sweet ol sadistic mentally ill Alice is gonna help overrun a corrupt queen to bring back piece to an imaginary land……makes perfect sense to me, lolo what can possibly go wrong?

so anyways u eventually get to the Mad Hater after going through a damn mirror maze of his, which frustrated me because I had trouble figuring it out…I ain’t good at mazes, anyways so when u find Hater u see him experimenting on a rabbit and a mouse….when I mean experimenting I do mean experimenting, like replacing limbs and eyes with robotic parts…..stitching things back together, yeah uhhhhhh yikes is definitely the word I’m thinking….oh btw keep those 2 characters in mind for the second game Alice Madness Returns….they do “Return” again…..

So eventually Alice gets to the Red Queen’s palace…….after killing baddies, and fighting creatures, oh yeah she went through a field where part of the map shrunk down to ant size, so this adventure has been a weird one for sure….so after making it through like a book room puzzle that takes a while…..u eventually make it up to the Red Queen who u end up fighting….wow what a shocker, anyways this boss fight is a little bit tricky…..she turns into this giant version of herself with octopus tentacles…..things got weird….

So after defeating the red queen, she opens up her demonic mouth revealing Alice’s face inside dun dunn dunn….for u see it ain’t Alice’s face that came out of the red queen but instead, it’s her twin sister who died years ago…..they don’t mention what happened to her here but they do in the second game…so we will save that for next time…..

Anyways the red queen tells Alice she’s not welcome in Wonderland we don’t need u here yada yada…then Alice breaks down into tears….

So finally she brings back peace to Wonderland, and everything goes from being grotesque looking back to normal..

Anyway the game ends with her leaving the hospital with a book  in her hands, as she walks out with a suitcase as well…the end

Hope y’all enjoyed this review, here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on.
