Lights Out (Horror Short Film):

Firstly I wanna mention that I’m now reviewing this award-winning horror short that kickstarted the Lights Out movie because I already reviewed that film….

So where to start? Well let’s get the rating out of the way then we will dive into the quote on quote story…..so overall I’ll say I did enjoy this horror short, I found it creepy

So this short btw is what gave the developers the green light to make a full-fledged movie based on this short…..I gotta give them props on it, but in all honesty I find this short more scarier then that PG-13 movie we got…I’ll explain why…

But first I wanna give a rating, well for a horror short this works…but I do have 1 major gripe with this short, which revolves around the main human character….so I’ll give this short a solid 8.2/10….but if we’re looking at this as a movie, because spoiler alert it did get made into a movie…then it kinds just fails…

The issue is trying to stretch a horror short into a full-fledged horror movie….btw if u want to know more of my thoughts on the film, check out my reveiw, but for that movie I’ll give it a solid 4.8/10…honestly I recommend this horror short a whole lot better….

Ok let me now talk about the spoilers, though this will be very short let’s face it….so in this short this woman is about to go to bed….how riveting.

So as she’s about to turn off the hallway lights in her apartment she flicks off the light but then notices a naked figure standing across the hallway door…then she flickers the lights back on, and the figure disappears…she then flickers the lights back off and the figure appears again…she turns on the light, the figure vanishes then she turns the lights off and the figure appears up close to her…dunnnnnnn

Then she turns the lights back on…now I bet y’all think she probably runs out of her apartment ASAP because anyone in their right mind would…

No pfft what? What did u think u were watching? No, she does something stupid…for u see instead she duck-tapes the light switch to stay on…then she proceeds to go lay down in bed…. Pfft sorry what? She went to go lie down in bed? She went to go lie down in bed!? Oh, don’t mind me ghost…I know I just discovered u in my house and ur Spoopy and all that, but I got to get to bed for my 9 to 5s job….

Just remember to leave the rent on my table tomorrow lol….ok I don’t mean to be rude but this really is what a lot of people call white people’s horror trope, the trope being white people In horror movies do stupid stuff….like going to bed in the same building where u just saw a ghost in!

So anyway she tries to go to sleep all while having the door open to the hallway….SMH, did this woman take stupid pills? She has the door wide open to the hallway where she saw the Ghost. Furthermore, the lights are completely off in the hallway…u know what, whatever comes to be of this woman she deserves every single bit of it.

Anyway she hears this noise, she covers her head under the blanket, then she tries grabbing her cord to keep the plugin so whatever is in her room doesn’t unplug it….

She then takes the blanket off when she stops hearing noises, she looks behind her and sighs in relief….then she looks at the lamp, and the short ends with this pale naked girl with white pale eyes staring at her while screeching akkkkkkk…

Then she turns the light switch off…the short ends and that’s Lights Out…..damn no wonder why this got a movie adaptation, this is a really unnerving short….the only issue is our main lead in this short is an idiot, also this actress returns for the film as a small part at the beginning of the film…
