Supernatural Part 1: yes yes I know some yall gonna say this show is for hot topic type teenagers….but I don’t care, I genuinely loved this show…..loved, as in past tense….

I’ll get into what I mean by that in my review but first I wanna mention that this review will be slightly different….for this review I ain’t gonna show a trailer, ill be giving context to the main characters.

Give an idea what this show is like, mention how each season just got weirder and weirder….oh and I’ll show images of the characters, link the Cardy On My Wayward Son song, and lastly oh yeah be listing quite a bit of my favorite Dean Winchester lines…..

Oh yeah ill also describe why Dean is my favorite character and then lastly mention where I think this show started becoming too much and why I thought the final season which was season 15!! Kinda hit the mark on being a good finale….

Also, I’ll be splitting this review into 2 parts because there’s a lot to talk about…

First, let’s get a rating out of the way so we can get into spoilers, overall I’m a massive fan of this show….not to say it’s perfect no far from it, but there’s episodes that are cringe-inducing….also for the show that goes on for 15 seasons it was bound to get bad eventually, in my opinion, the decline started happening by right after season 5, but it officially hit rock bottom by season 15…

So overall I’ll give this series a solid 7.2/10, spoilers ahead y’all been warned…

Oh btw here’s the song Carry on My Wayward Son by Kansas, which plays for the beginning of the final episode of each season as a recap….

So without further a due let’s get into the review shall we? So in this show, we focus on our 2 main characters Dean Winchester and Sam Winchester…..here’s some back story….Their mother died when Sam was a baby and Dean was like 5….for u see one night they’re dad played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan of all people…yes Negan himself yeah yeah get ur little pigs little pigs jokes out of the way now…..anyways and this unseen force lists up his wife onto the roof of they’re bedroom and the roof starts setting blaze….burning the wife to death so the father and both kids leave the house….

Cut to them older….Sam has moved on with his life to college while Dean has stuck behind with his dead doing the family business….the family business being killing and hunting monsters…also they’re father wants to go after The thing that killed their mother….understandable, but then eventually they’re dad just leaves Dean so now Dean has no idea where he is…so he goes to recruit his brother who’s hesitant at first….mainly because he found a girlfriend….take a guess what conceives him to join his brother? It’s because one night while they’re sleeping his girlfriend levitates onto the roof and starts burning alive….in a similar fashion to the way Sam and Deans mother died…..yeah yikes is correct, thus cannot be a coincidence….

So anyways they end up working together and carry on the family legacy….hell while we’re here in season 1 I wanna quickly mention my favorite episode and an important element by the end of this season…..so in this specific episode we’re gonna be talking about I think it’s called Scarecrow…..I think, and in this episode, Sam needs some time away from Dean….so he heads out to a bus station alone away from Dean….I mean eh I don’t care much for Sam so hey…an episode focusing around Dean yeah that’s a win in my book…

So Dean heads out on his own in his car which is his favorite….he ends up finding himself in a small town gas station….luckily for him the small town isn’t too far away….so he heads to a dinner and gets some pie because well he loves pie….let’s be honest who doesn’t love pie?

At the diner, he finds out about people going missing in this small town so he ends up heading there to investigate it……

When he gets to the town he goes to the cop station and they mention about how people have been going missing….he gives him a missing picture of a guy, also Dean meets some of the town people he meets a farmer, and his wife and they’re the daughter who’s a teenager….they send Dean to the woods to investigate

As soon he gets there he locates a scarecrow located in the front of the woods…hanging in the air off of a wooden cross….he goes over to the scarecrow and we see what the scarecrow looks like, he has a stitched-up face, no mouth…no eyeballs just eye cavities, a frown on his face somehow is wearing a fedora, wearing a trench coat….so Deans reaction is dude u Fuggly…

Yeah that’s an understatement, then he takes a ladder and climbs up it notices a similar tattoo on the scarecrow’s right arm similar to the tattoo on the guy in the missing picture…..dun dun dun

So back to Sam, he’s at a bus stop waiting for a bus, where he ends up meeting a woman (I forget her name) but it’s not important I mean yes she’s semi-important for this 1 season but still, anyway, they start talking they are getting along with each other yada yada and all that…..he does talk about Dean to….

So back to Dean, it’s now night time and these 2 love birds have found themselves lost in the forest somehow, which the scarecrow comes to life and tries to attack the couple, so Dean comes out of nowhere with a shotgun to save the 2 couple….he gets some shots into the scarecrow and they make it back to there car….they turn around to see the scarecrow is gone, they ask Dean what the hell was that man? And Dean said u don’t want to know!

Anyways cut to the end of the episode Dean calls up Sam, Dean tells the town leader’s daughter that she’s in danger because he finds out her parents who are in charge of the town have been sacrificing people for this scarecrow God to keep their crops intact, he fears she the next victim…

Anyway, they catch Dean helping their daughter so they tie both of them up to the tree so the god can come and take her as an offering….

Luckily Sam shows up, he saves them….they run out of the woods…but the girl’s family tries to stop them with a gun, they tell her it will all be over soon and it’s ok….instead the scarecrow shows up behind them….puts his scythe through the guy’s chest…proceeds to grab the woman by the hair and digs his scythe into the dead guy’s leg and drags the 2 of them away…

Well, I guess they were the sacrifices all along…so the next day the 2 of them stay with the girl as she takes a lighter and gasoline…she torches up the tree, good riddance if u ask me…

Anyways come to the end of season 1, remember that woman I told u Sam met at the bus stop? Yeah turns out she works for a demon…she knew who Sam and Dean were, and she lured them so she could lure out their dad who has gone missing for a long time…

Eventually, the dad does show up and save them…hurray family reunion, anyways they eventually go up against the yellow-eyed demon, and the demon also kills off the woman…good riddance…

But this does lead to Dean getting badly injured, and Sam getting some minor injuries…including the dad….

At the beginning of season 2 while Dean is in a coma in the hospital and about to die, their father makes a deal with the yellow-eyed demon who killed his wife…to bring his son back on the condition he can take his soul…so he agrees to it, so Dean survives but their dad dies…. oh no not Jeffrey Dean Morgan…..

Anyways they burn his body in a bond fire….

Also, let’s talk about a specific episode in season 2 that has me cracking up…..but first here’s the clip….enjoy.

Hahahahahahah, ok now let me play out the scene then dialog, so in this episode the 2 brothers find this wishing fountain that can bring wishes true….they encounter a girl named Audrey who tells them she wished for her teddy bear to come to life to do tea parties with her but he’s now sick in the head…so she invites the 2 of them to her house…..and oh boy.

They first don’t believe her but they go in anyway so she takes them up to her room…

Audrey: he’s in my bedroom, he’s pretty grumpy. (Proceeds to knock on the door) Teddy there are some nice doctors here to see u. (Proceeds to open door)

Teddy: (watching the news of sad events all while drinking an alcohol bottle) CLOSE THE FREAKING DOOR! (says in a whiny voice)

Audrey: u see what I mean?

Sam and Dean: (look at each other confused)

Audrey: all I ever wanted was a teddy who’s big, alive, and real, and that could talk. But now he’s just sad all the time, not ouch sad but ouch In the head sad. Says weird stuff and smells like the bus.

Dean: um little girl.

Audrey: Audrey.

Dean: Audrey, how exactly did Teddy become real?

Audrey: I wished for it.

Sam: u wished for it?

Audrey: at the wishing well.

Dean: (Proceeds to open door).

Teddy: (says in whiney voice) Look at this, u believe in this crap?

Dean: not really.

Teddy: it’s a terrible world, (Proceeds to look at Dean and the kid) Why am I here!?

Audrey: for tea parties!

Teddy: (says in a whiney voice) Tea parties, is that all there is? (Whimpers)

Dean: (walks away confused and closes the door)

Sam: Adri give us a second ok?

Audrey: ok.

Sam: ok, (Proceeds to walk over to the corner with Dean) Are we? Should we? Uh. Are we gonna kill this teddy bear?

Dean: how? Huh? We shoot it? Burn it?

Sam: idk, both?

Dean: how do we even know that’s gonna work, I don’t want some flaming pissed-off teddy on our hands.

Sam: yeah, besides I get the feeling that the bear isn’t really u know the core problem here.

Sam: Audrey, where are ur parents?

Audrey: well my mom wished they were in Bali, so I think they were in Bali.

Dean: (Proceeds to look at Sam)

Sam: ok well uh I’m really sorry to break this to u but ur bear is sick, yeah he has uh.

Dean: lollipop disease.

Sam: lollipop disease.

Dean: it’s not uncommon for a bear his size, but u see it’s really contagious.

Sam: yeah so is there anyone u can stay with? Possibly a grownup while we treat him?

Audrey: Ms. Hurley lives down the street.

Sam and Dean: yeah good perfect.

Sam: wed like for u to stay there for w few good days ok?

Audrey: ok.

Dean: oh and Audrey, where’s this wishing well?

Hahahahahaha, yeah I just wanted to bring up that scene because it always has me laughing so hard that I cramp up….I mean seriously the girl wished for a teddy bear to do tea parties with, instead, she got a suicidal alcoholic teddy bear….oh boy..

So eventually things pivot away from the supernatural and straight into religious type Shtick, this is where I was teeter tottering about huh is this show still good or not. Spoiler alert it is…

For u see the back end of season 3 Dean gets killed and sent to hell, hell hounds killed him….but turns out God has different plans for him so at the beginning of season 3 he’s revived…he is curious about who did that, this angel named Castiel played by Misha Collins eventually reveals himself to both Dean and Bobby played by Jim Beaver, (he’s a long time friend of their father)

BTW Bobby becomes the father figure to both of them……oh also he always refers to them as Idgiots…..when they get on his nerves or when they do something stupid….he always says u Idgiots….that’s become a staple of Bobby’s character.

Anyway, they try to figure out who revived Dean….because his body was torn open his organs everywhere. He should be a pile of meat….also Sam went on his own to figure out how to bring back Dean….things have been rough for them…

So they go see Sam, they ask if he’s the one who brought him back, turns out no….

Because no one used dark magic to revive him or any of that, because turns out Sam couldn’t…he kept asking crossroad demons but they refused to help because they wanted a piece of Dean’s soul….and now he’s theirs…..so everyone including the demons are wondering how Dean made it out from hell….turns out God had his best angel Castiel raise Dean from the dead….the religious stuff doesn’t end here btw…

Also here’s 35 min to the dunnn Castiel moments….dear lord he’s absolutely funny.

Oh also the 2 brothers also along the way encounter this trickster named Gabriel played by Richard Speight Jr. (Whose this trickster guy who is basically the Q from Star Trek, but for supernatural) he’s this omnipotent being who can do anything to make Sam and Deans life hell because he finds it funny…..

Speaking of funny and absurdity, here’s 2 montage videos of the most bizarre moments in the show…plz enjoy.

So near the back end of season 4, Sam has been manipulated by a female demon who tricks Sam into raising Sstan from hell, womp womp…..

Season 5 comes along so now Satan is the main threat…..so Sam and Dean have to get the help of Bobby who’s now in a wheelchair, and their 2 other friends Ellen and her daughter Jo……so Dean and Castiel including Ellen and Jo celebrate their last night together because the next day might be there last. After all, they are gonna go stop satan….

Also, this demon named Crowley played by Mark Sheppard gives 2 of them a blade to kill satan with….also here’s a montage of the most funniest moments of Crowley…..he’s also a great character.

So they make it to the town where satan has brought along every demon including hell hounds to come witness him digging up Death himself….yep like the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse….

Unfortunately, Jo gets badly injured by hell hounds so her mother drags her into a store filled with bombs….the gang sets the place to explode. The mother stays behind to let the hell hounds come in where she’ll blow them/the building and herself up because her daughter is dead…. oh no..

So they go try to stop satan played by Mark Pellegrino….they stab satan with the blade but it doesn’t work….womp womp…so that means along with satan now death has been revived along with his 3 horsemen….btw here’s Satan’s or Lucifers funniest moments in this show….

So eventually Sam and Dean hunt down and kill the 3 horsemen. They take their rings with them because if u put all 4 together u can create basically this barrier that will send satan back to hell and lock him there….

Remember how I alluded to Gabriel? When both Sam and Dean are teleported into different TV channels thanks to Gabriel because he wants them to play their parts…..he’s teaching them a lesson because spoiler alert their parts down the line will be Dean becomes a vessel for the archangel Micheal while Sam will be the vessel for satan…..

Brother vs brother, they will have to fight each other…both angels are brothers. Both Sam and Dean are brothers…also spoiler alert Gabriel turns out to be an angel, he just wanted to get away from all the family bickering…yeah understandable, so he started a new life as a trickster so he can do whatever he wants……

Oh eventually he dies, the next time the brothers find him is at a motel that’s being overrun by every god…who are luring humans their so they can eat the humans. Ahh gross….anyways the gods are trying to find a way to take down Satan…..good luck with that…

Anyways the 2 brothers at the end of the episode convince Gabriel to get back into the fight, so when Satan shows up and slaughters every god except Kali….the 3 brothers shoe up to save Kali….then Gabriel comes in to save them…

They escape into a car while Gabriel stays behind to have a talk with satan….unfortunately, for Gabriel he talks too much so satan sneaks up behind him and stabs him….womp womp..

Anyways come to the end of season 5 Crowley helps Dean locate Death who’s just sitting in a restaurant with dead people around him…while he’s eating a pizza pie…also btw this scene is of deaths intro scene it’s so badass, he comes out of a car and walks in slow-mo…

Ohhhh death will u spare me another year..

Sorry, I had to do that, anyways Death gives Dean his ring so they can lock up satan…..but on the deal, he returns it later, why’s death helping them out? Because satan put an invisible leash around deaths neck…he says I’m the most powerful being in the galaxy, and I’m being held by a brat who’s having a temper tantrum…..btw Death is played by Julian Richings who was a perfect casting choice to play death. He has this skeletal-like sunken cheekbones that seem perfect for that role…

Also, death is portrayed as a character who eats lots of junk food. Get it because it’s bad for u and will kill u…

Also, are y’all realizing a pattern here? Satan, death, the horsemen, angels, demons they all in this show take the form of humans because that’s the only way they can show up on earth…

Anyways so at the end of the final episode, Sam gets possessed by satan….Michael comes down from heaven possessing their half-brother they find out they have named Adam played by Jake Abel….he fights satan/Sam….

A portal to hell opens up they both launch themselves into hell locking away Satan forever…but this also means Sam is gone as well…. dun dunn  dun, how will he ever come back? Find out in part 2 where I’ll go roughly over the next 10 seasons but I’ll abbreviate them…until then stay tuned…btw here’s all my favorite episodes in this show I highly recommend checking out…
