Sweet Tooth Season 3: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Unfortunately, we’ve come to the very end, this I’d the final series in this show that will be made, I’m glad though that Netflix allowed Robert Downey JR to see this show through 3 seasons….

So let’s get the rating out of the way so we can get into the spoilers….so overall God dammit I loved this season, it was essentially emotional…I teared up multiple times…u outdid yourself Robert Downey JR, I’m glad u brought this niche comic and made it mainstream for everyone….and Netflix thanks for allowing him to finish his vision for this show…

So I’ll give this season a solid 8.5/10 I highly recommend it, just like the previous 2 seasons…

So warning ⚠️ from now on spoilers ahead y’all been warned….also warning ⚠️ there’s some dark stuff in this season, some, not a lot but still…. there are sad parts as well, so I’d those aren’t your cup of tea then u don’t need to read or watch this…

So this show picks up where season 2 ended, where Gus, Big Man, Bear and her sister named Wendy (a half-pig hybrid) are heading to Alaska to find Gus’s mom because he’s been having visions of her in a cave in Alaska…she needs his help.

On their way to Alaska, they run into Dr. Aditya Singh, yes he just finds them somehow….he wants to help Gus to get to Alaska because he too also been having the same visions of that cave with Gus’s mother as well….ok things are getting weird, why they both having the same vision

Anyway, this time we got new villains since General Abbot died last season….so this time we have Helen Zhang (played by Rosalind Chao)….if you think General Abbot was a menace? Oh, u haven’t seen things yet….this woman makes General Abbot look like a nice person in comparison….yeah that’s the level of sadism we’re dealing with here…

Also, she had a brief appearance near the end of season 2 as part of the group called the 3, which are the main leaders in charge of different organizations….

BTW this woman runs a organization on a farm, where she births animals, she helps pregnant mothers give birth to only human babies…..not hybrids just humans, even though kids in this day in age in this series are now only being born as hybrids…..so that means the human population is going down….

Anyway then there’s her daughter Rosie (played by Kelly Marie Tran) (some y’all might remember her from her role as Rose Tico from Star Wars The Last Jedi) anyways she’s a cowboy hat-wearing chick who leads her mother’s army…..including her kids who are hybrid wolf kids….she’s got 4 of them….btw these wolves are wearing a mask with goggles over they’re eyes and upper face…to make them look more monstrous I guess….

She has massive pressure on her to please her mom because her mom and dad especially her mom are against her birthing 4 hybrid dog babies….yeah did I forget to tell y’all this season seems to double down on humans being racist against hybrids? Because it does…

Remember how I also said this woman makes General Abbot look sane and good in comparison? Well, it’s because even though he’s a bad guy and has done bad things, he was doing it to try to make a cure to save humans….and to wipe out hybrids….

While this woman has a similar goal, but she approaches it a whole lot differently….she will shame her own daughters for giving birth to a hybrid because she wants a human baby to continue the bloodline…she’ll go to any length to make sure she gets a human baby….just so happens her second daughter is gonna be giving birth soon…

So her mom wants to make sure it’s a human baby…even if that means altering things around, taking out the DNA that makes a hybrid born a hybrid, and splicing DNA…..just to make sure she has a human baby….

Yeah, that’s messed up, oh and on top of that she treats Rosie’s kids like wild pets than nephews of hers……they are her nephews and she just treats them like pets, speaking of the way they were grown up they act more like wolf’s then hybrids….

They howl, they snarl, they bark, they attack on command, and they run and walk on all 4s, heck she puts muzzles on their mouths and puts them in cages….jeepers what a fun character she must be to hang around with huh?

Heck, we see a back flash scene of when Rosie’s kids were still pups, her mom came and visited just to tell her ur dad is dead….she asks if she can return home to her mom and sister. Which then her mom say after everything? U expect that u will be welcomed back?

Oh gee wiz, also she does hold one the nephews in her arms, the baby bites her….she tells Rosie u can come back, as for ur babies cage them up….again what a pleasant woman she must be to hang around….so now Rosie went from this cheery upbeat person to this stone cold ruthless hunter who’s only goal is to please her stubborn old fashioned way of a mother…..

Now u see why this woman makes General Abbot look sane?

So back to our gang, they eventually locate a house with an airplane, there’s a woman inside giving birth and the husband needs someone to help give birth to the kid…luckily for them these 5 people just show up at their doorstep, and one of them is a doctor…they say if we help u can u fly us to Alaska….

He agrees while aiming a gun at them, he tells them the hybrids have to wait outside, so they do…also did I forget to mention this dad is slightly racist? Yeah, he refuses to have his newborn kid be a hybrid he badly wants it to be a human baby… his son he has already (spoiler alert who is secretly a hybrid, he has wings. Has to hide it under tight clothing so his parents don’t find out…..that’s depressing)….

Anyways the 2 hybrids sneak upstairs on a ladder leading into a bedroom where they find the parents son, we basically find out this kids parents have beliefs such as hybrids are dumb and stupid and dangerous, don’t get near a hybrid…don’t make friends with them yada yada and all that…

What pleasant parents they must be huh? Anyways so the boy reveals them his wings after they chat a bit and know each other…..Gus tells him that’s cool…. Anyway back to the birth, so Dr. Aditya Singh during the process notices a bunny tale sticking out of the mother’s womb….and he tells them whatever u have planned u better relax were not going anywhere till this is done….

Both Bear and Big Man are getting suspicious of the father heck they don’t want him to fly them that’s how suspicious of him they are…..they’re both thinking what will happen if the kid does turn out to be a hybrid? Huh, what then? U can see how stable this guy clearly is….

What if she turns on us and changes his promise….yeah y’all might wanna leave, so spoiler alert the wife gives birth to a hybrid…I do like Bear’s reaction too seeing the whole birthing, she says I’m never having children….yeah, I don’t blame her…. Anyway the guy turns his gun onto them because he’s just so stable I guess…

Just then his son and Gus come downstairs, the son’s wings are fully exposed and the wife tells the husband need to keep your end of the bargain….they helped us now u help them….so he tells them to wait outside, for him…

Big Man says remember we did the right thing so remember that before u try betraying us…..so then they realize he’s not gonna help out he’s gonna call them into Helen Zhang….because she wants Gus….

So they decide to make a dash for it outside, and just then a car pulls up behind them…it’s the guy’s son, he gives them the keys and says take the truck I know it’s not as cool as a plane but it should help u….they thank him, Gus says u should come with us…the kid says I have a bay boy now, I can’t go…we will be fine…

Uh-huh sure u will kid, I bet things will be all peachy and clean….anyways they get into the truck and drive off, and as they do that the dad runs out with a rifle and tries shooting them…what a stable man he was?

Anyway they make it to a beach because they heard of a last boat that is taking off with hundreds of people….unfortunately, they get there late, and the boat has left….all that’s left is this woman who’s living there on a beach house doing art…she brings them inside, tries to contact the boat on the radio but no one answers…

Luckily Gus notices an abandoned boat in some bushes outside so they get onto repairing the boat up…though the issue is how they gonna fit all of them in this small wooden boat….so they get to fixing it, while Dr. Singh is repairing the motor so they can head out…..

BTW Bear wants Big Man to make sure Dr. Singh can’t board the boat…shebdoesnt trust him, hmmm probably right she doesn’t….

So they repair the boat, the woman who helped is planning on leaving with her dog…so Wendy hands her the keys to their truck so she has more room to pack things, so she heads out…and as the gang heads out….they hear a response on the radio…at first u think it’s the boat responding but nope it’s Rosie…she says to keep them there they will be there soon….

Uh oh the woman ratted them out, so now they have to leave so they head to the beach to leave but unfortunately Rosie shows up and has her guy shoot them with a sniper rifle….let me summarize up this scene..

• Big Man, Dr. Singh and Gus make it onto the boat….and leave

• Bear and her sister Wendy get left behind while there hiding behind a rock…

• The wolf hybrids get sent on them to attack them…

• Bear stabs one of the hybrids though she doesn’t know it was a hybrid….she thought it was a wolf…she only attacked it and hurt it because it was attacking her….this scene hurt me hearing the hybrid wolf yelp in pain and whimper….

• Rosie gets upset and brings her son up to the car to try to stop the bleeding….also she knocks out Bear and has her man tie her hands and bring her up to the house….

• Helen Zhang and her men show up, try to interrogate her….she gives her a choice to do it a the easy way and give them the info on where Gus is heading, or the hard way…also she makes Bear some dinner, how generous?

• turns out one of Helen Zhang men so happened to in the past work for Bear and her followers….so he saves her, as he says I wasn’t gonna allow them to kill u…

So they sneak away past the guards, she tells him about Gus going to Alaska and that they need to make it to there…

• but wait it’s a trap! Helen Zhang and her men appear in front of them and it’s revealed Bear’s friend was in on this….he used her by saving her to open up to him about the location of Gus….so Helen knows…..as she says I always get what I want….

Wow, what a great friend Bear had huh?

• Next day they head out, and Zhang tells Rosie to leave the injured dog behind….yeah the whole night she’s been cuddling her son in her arms outside all while crying because he’s dying and badly injured…..

This scene hurt me again, seeing a dog hurt and dying….whimpering in its mom’s arms all while the mom saying it’s gonna be alright, u will be alright…then she goes to her car comes out with a shotgun, and shoots the dog…..gasps, ok I’m not loving this show anymore 0 out of 10 bye bye…JK but no this show now at least drops 2 points, but I’ll be generous of course hence why I gave this season a 8.5/10….

So they take Bear with them, all while Wendy smuggles inside the truck they’re driving away in all while the hybrid wolves are backing at her….

Anyways back to the gang, they make their way to the cruise ship. Finally, also we get to see a scene of the people on board celebrating…dancing, drinking listening to music….now here’s where the shoe becomes eerie, and where I give it massive respect for the twist this show does….

So they get on board, now u would think they will probably be caught soon since they just snuck away on board right? Well, they get on board and no one’s there…everything is empty, the floor looks like a mess, everything abandoned…

Ok things are suspicious I thought we just saw them having a party. So they go to the lower decks to look around to see if anyone is abroad, and what they end up finding is the whole crew is dead….yep Big Man looks in a room and sees the purple flowers on the walls (which are dangerous because they hold the virus in them, but they don’t infect the hybrids)…also he sees dead people in the same room..

I will admit this scene creeped me out, I like that the twist is these people have been dead, which would explain why they got no response on the radio….but also the reason this creeped me out is that I always find the idea of a lost ship at Sea, just endlessly floating…also caring dead people aboard to be horrifying….

Anyways so Gus locks the 2 of them in a room together while he goes and tries to turn on the power in the control room…..so I’m gonna summarize the things that happen next.

1.  He gets in contact via a walkie-talkie, with someone aboard who’s still alive, this guy was like a son to the captain so he’s sad the captain is dead…this son is a grown man btw…

2. He figures out Gus is a hybrid, he’s not scared of him heck he has a conversation with Gus on the walkie-talkie…

3. He refuses to help Gus at first because he can’t let this sick get to land and infect people, but Gus asks if I continue the captain’s work by tossing the rest of the bodies overboard will u help me power up the boat? So he agrees…

4.  Gus gets to remove the bodies, all while telling the guy on the talkie everyone’s names that he was able to find…and info about them because he wants them to live on in stories…

5. Both Big Man and Dr. Aditya Singh talk about there times near the start of the outbreak that nearly wiped out the majority of humanity…..Dr. Singh points out that they met before, he was the doctor who ended up helping give birth to Big Man’s son his wife was giving birth to….

6. Gus and the guy turn on the boat, so now they can head to Alaska….unfortunately, the guy leaves because he has his mission to do, which is to go back and inform about the virus that broke out on the ship….

Ok so now the gang gets to Alaska, and there they meet this woman and her hybrid Arctic fox daughter, who are friends with Gus’s mother….unfortunately, she’s gone missing, so they head back to their shelter to come up with a plan to go save her….

Some of the town folks refuse to help them out but she and a few of the others demand to let them come in…..so they go up to the planning room to plan how to save his mother….

Anyways back to the villains, they get to an Alaska base where they tie up Bear….she talks to her ex-friend asking him what happened to the sweet innocent boy I once knew. Which he says maybe u just don’t know me as well…

Then Rosie enters to interrogate Bear….Bear apologies for killing her hybrid son, she didn’t know he was a hybrid until it was too late..then she asks what was the son’s name? Which she says u named him because u love him…what was his name…

BTW if any of y’all think he’s gonna have a redemption and change sides? Well, spoiler alert he doesn’t….I’ll get to that later, anyways Wendy is sneaking around the base trying to stay hidden and trying to find Bear….

Rosie tells her mom she has tracked the group to a small shelter nearby, she says on surveillance that they entered the building with a woman, so they head out there….

So Rosie, her gang, and Helen Zhang make it to the shelter, where they make their way in….they play a tape of Dr. Singh saying that the virus started out here in Alaska, and he knows how to save the world…and that Gus is the answer…

So she demands the folks to tell them where Gus and the others are, she gives them 5 min to decide…or else she’ll send her nephews onto them….what an evil piece of shite…

So Gus and the fox hybrid escape through a small vent, and Dr. Singh and the others get left behind, of course, Singh isn’t happy….he says I need to get there as well…..so Big Man goes downstairs to buy some time for Gus to escape, he tells the villains he’s long gone and won’t say a word…

Dr. Singh comes down and says yes Gus is long gone, but I can tell u where he is….dunnnnn dunn dunn! U backstabbing traitor…..of course, Big Man is upset, Singh explains I’m sorry but I did say I plan on getting to the cave as well…..

So Zhang ways to execute Big Man….just then smoke from the smoke alarms goes off which blinds everyone, and both Big Man and the woman escape the building….she’s the one who sets the alarms off, using a flare…

So they both head out on foot to the place they need to go to, back to Gus the hybrid girl tells him to keep going straight that will find the cave, and that she’s gonna go back for her mother….

So he ends up going straight, and he ends up bumping into the hybrid wolves, but luckily for him, a hybrid called the wanderer comes to save him….unfortunately gets injured badly by the wolves so the both of them scare off the wolves then they both head to the hybrids cabin…..

Inside the hybrid goes and lays down, and guess who else is there? Gus’s mother whose name is Birdie….. yay a reunion finally….

Anyways the wander tells them to not enter the cave, humans cannot be allowed to find the cave…humans are the real disease, and it’s our time to shine…and all that….he does die after like 15 min of him blabbering on and the 2 of them trying to heal him….the mother now certain he was correct, she points out to Gus what if something bad happens if we enter that cave? He did just say nothing happens without a price….

Side note, Dr. Singh forces Zhang to allow him to help…she says why should I even trust u, I mean u lied about the cure to General Abbot…he then shows her a boon he found and mentions he found information in this book that can help, he then is about to hand it to her but instead drops it into the bond fire and says u need me!

Besides I didn’t tell u my full vision, I see myself in the cave holding Gus’s body after I killed him…..dunnn dunn dunnn!! U were right Gus is important to all this but not in the way u think….I use to belive science use to be the way, but science has given me nothing but a headache, so I offer u a new way….a blood sacrifice…

I need to kill Gus, killing him will save the humans…..so Dr. Singh was gonna kill Gus all along? Booooo booo this man…but Zhang is happy and says give this man whatever he wants….

Anyways back to Big Man and the woman, they find themselves in a cabin where the woman’s girl is…..then the town folks show up and enter the house as well because they have nowhere else to go….anyways Wendy rescues Bear after she breaks lose of her chains and falls to the floor…then her ex-friend comes in attacking her so Wendy comes and knocks the guy out…

They both steel a snow vehicle and drive off, they do end up getting lost though but Wendy says my mom always said to follow the stars….so they just do that, anyways back at the cabin everyone Is arguing…the town folks want to turn in Big Man in exchange for their town to be free…but Big Man gives a speech saying we need to stick and work together maybe we can save the day…stop the baddies and get ur town back….

So they all agree to join together, and they are all like we’re in…so am I… Then just when they’re cheering, Bear and Wendy show up…..Big Man is happy to see them, he hugs them…asks how they got here. Bear says she was kidnapped by Zhang and Wendy says I snuck aboard the truck…the whole time those hybrid wolves barked at me and snarled at me even though they knew I am a hybrid as well….I don’t blame them I blame the way they were raised…

Bear agrees, Wendy says it wasn’t your fault for killing one of those wolves…. Anyway, Bear points out to Big Man he should go be with Gus…they got this, and they will plan the attack…so Big Man heads out to go look for Gus…

Anyways Big Man shows up at the door of the cabin that Gus is at….Big Man happily shakes the mother’s hand because he’s happy to see her…he’s heard a lot about her, and she says I guess ur Big Man…. a pleasure to meet u…

So the 3 of them head to the cave to end this once and for all…..so the 3 of them get to the cave, they enter it…..they find it to be a challenge though because one of the areas of the cave has these frozen purple flowers if any of them unfreeze or break its game over for them…so they have to sneak on by…..

Anyways they make it inside to the bleeding tree….yes this ancient tree bleeds, ok then…..anyways Zhang and her group show up behind them…uhhhh ohhhhh..

Back at the base, while Wendy and Bear are in a hallway trying to open a gate to get to the giant machine that has a drill before the baddies turn it on to go dig up the cave….they get cornered by Rosie and her children…she says my sons were eager to meet the person who killed there brother, u asked me earlier what his name was…his name was Bruno….

Bear tries to get Rosie to do the right thing, she tells her that ur mom is planning on whipping out all hybrids, where will that leave u and ur sons…..she stops for a second in hesitation..

So the 2 of them escape, while the town folks are attacking Zhang’s men….. Anyway, they all make it to the giant drill Snow vehicle, but Bear’s ex-friend gets it running and he drives off while saying I win!

Uh oh, so now they have to catch up to the vehicle, their plan is to use a harpoon to flip it over….so they grab a harpoon and get into vehicles then head out….

Anyways back to the cave, Zhang has her men hold Gus and Big Man and Gus’s mother….just then Dr. Aingh comes out with a knife and approaches Gus…he tells him he’s sorry but he has to do this, he has to kill him…that you Gus are the key to all this…

Just as he is about to stab him. The mother gets in the way and she gets stabbed instead…..noooooooo! She unfortunately dies in Gus’s arms….she tells him she’s happy she got to spend this time with him. No regrets and u want to know what Zhang’s reaction is…let ur mom’s death be an example of what happens when I don’t get my way….

Gus finally admits it to Zhang that humans don’t deserve to live, he use to look at the positive sides of humans…wanted the best for both hybrids and humans, but you humans are just greedy….u constantly want things….u don’t deserve to live….well he isn’t wrong about that….let’s face it…

We also see Dr. Singh starting to question his morals, and then Big Man breaks loose and tries to stop this….just then Zhang stabs Big Man….nooo no noo nooo! But he isn’t dead he’s just injured….so then Zhang demands Dr. Singh to murder Gus….he needs to…

Also, we see Zhang’s men torching up the purple flowers, keep that in mind for what’s about to happen…. Anyway Dr. Singh says he’s had enough of people telling him what to do! Then he approaches Gus….then Zhang says kill him…..

Just then Dr. Singh decides to help Gus and aims the knife at Zhang and her men, telling her to back off…yes finally he redeemed himself…..just then Zhang grabs a spear and says enough I’ll do this myself…just then her pinky starts twitching (which is a sign u have the sick in this show)…

And every human in the room’s pinkies start twitching….uhhhh ohhh, her men say what have u done? They collapse onto the floor…Gus uses the knife to cut his hand and place it on the tree…he yells out is this what u want!

Then he gets sent to the forest spirit realm where he is talking to a manifestation of his previous dad…..it’s the forest talking to Gus, he asks Gus what u think is the best thing to do….he wants it to humans don’t have to die and neither do hybrids….

Just then Gus is sent back to reality, the tree sets fire with blue flames…..everyone in the rooms pinkies stop twitching, the forest took sympathy and showed the humans mercy….so now the remaining humans on earth don’t have to worry about being a ticking time bomb until the virus kills them…it won’t now…

Anyways back outside a snow mobile chase is happening, Rosie is driving her sister and her husband because her sister is about to give birth, Rosie finally opens up and is about to tell her that if ur kid turns out to be a hybrid it won’t matter trust me…..

But she doesn’t get to say all that because she’s driving, anyways the gang catch up to the drill machine and Bear jumps onto the vehicle….she tries reasoning with her friend one more time, he says u don’t get it don’t u….this isn’t about u, this is about me losing…I’m tired of losing I don’t want us to lose…

She then says I’m sorry then for what I’m about to do…she grabs the wheel and flips the vehicle upside down, yayyyyyy…..Anyway Bear survives but her ex-friend doesn’t….she does the respectable thing ans close his eyes for him….

Anyways everyone starts leaving the cave, just then the cave starts collapsing down so they all have to leave….everyone starts running, Gus is about to be squashed by a giant rock, just then Dr. Singh pushes him out the way and gets squashed underneath it….but half of him is sticking out….

He screams to Gus to go! Now, u are free….I’m free as well….so then they head out the cave, the cave collapses making it not possible for anyone ever to enter or exit again…..anyways in Singh’s dying moments we see him clutch the antler of Gus….the same one that got cut off last season….

So they all make it outside where they see the vehicles are there including Zhang’s men. Also at this moment, Rosie’s sister is about to give birth….she puts her up the side of a car, and Bear offers assistance…Rosie accepts. The husband of course asks do u know what ur even doing?

Which funny thing Bear says believe it or not I saw someone do this a few days ago….well she’s not wrong, they have the woman push….. push push! So she finally gives birth….Rosie brings the baby to her mom, turns out the baby is a hybrid as well…..Honestly who cares right? She doesn’t care anymore what her mom thinks…

Her mom gives her a look of disgust, and Rosie shows the baby to Gus….she allows him to touch the baby’s finger, how sweet……Zhang then says he’s there….shoot him u idiots! What are u waiting for?

Then her men decide to just leave with the gang, and they all leave back to the town….while Zhang is left behind in shock…..good she deserves it…

So the gang head back, but Big Man is badly injured he can’t walk…so they will go get a vehicle for him to ride in….Gus says he will stay behind with him….Big Man asks Gus to tell him a story…..

We hear him narrating, then we see a montage that consists of…

Zhang’s people helping the town folks rebuild their town…..u know becoming a community, well that’s sweet….

We see Rosie leaving on a military plane with her sister and her newborn child, also her husband….oh and of course her dog sons…she takes the masks off them once and for all…

We also see Zhang looking at the sky where she sees the plane leave without her, again good she deserves to die out there in the cold….

Also we see a dead Dr. Singh in the cave still holding thr antler, but now the antler has grown a small leaf on the top of it somehow…

Then we see the gang make it back home to the woods, to reunite with the rest of the hybrids….we then see them along with the help of Bear, build a new place for them to live….

They end up building tree houses and all that, with bridges of course….so kinda like the Ewoks homes on Endor, got it….

Then we see a glimpse of a future old man Gus (played by James Brolin, whose Josh Brolins father….btw they definitely look alike) anyways so old man Gus is sitting in front of a campfire talking about the tales of his adventures to child hybrids…

BTW so we find out basically that James Brolin plays old man Gus and that he’s been the narrator this entire time….yes this show has narration moments starting in season 1…guess now we know who was narrating…

Anyway the show ends with young Gus again sitting on a chair outside a cabin in front of their new home, and then Big Man comes up takes a seat next to Gus in the second seat….he hands Gus some maple syrup, he brings himself maple syrup as well…they both take a drink from it like if it’s alcohol…..and that’s how the series/show ends… role credits music..

Honestly if u ask me, I’d say this ending is both a happy ending and a bleak ending, why bleak? Well because even though the humans survive….the remaining humans will be the last of the human race, once they’re dead the world belongs to the hybrids….but luckily the humans can live the rest of their lives happily and nor worry about dying from the virus…..

Overall I highly recommend this show…all 3 seasons, it’s a nice fairytale like show, which Is funny to say because the comics this is based on is a whole lot more darker then this show…..anyways hope y’all enjoyed the reveiw…
