Doctor Who 60th Anniversary Wild Blue Yonder:
Side note I wanted to mention I have a special fond memory to these 3 specials, because I was away in the Caribbean relaxing on the beach while these aired and watched them there, that was some happy times.
So let’s get the rating out of the way, so this episode is better then the first episode…but that doesn’t mean It’s the ultimate best, I still will recommend it….so uhhh solid 9/10…so let’s now get into the review shall we? Also warning massive spoilers ahead, read at ur own caution…
So in this episode titled Wild Blue Yonder, our duo finds themselves randomly teleported onto a ship in the middle of space, all because Donna accidentally spilled coffee on the tardis mainframe lolo, good old Donna Noble being clumsy….so they get out the tardis and decide to walk and explore, fair warning this episode is beyond weird like beyond weird…
Oh did I forget to mention before they find themselves on a ship they find themselves in 1666 on top of a tree where Sir Issac Newton is sitting underneath a tree, yes sir Issac Newton…but this sir Issac Newton is tan skinned and has brown hair, huh? He’s supposed to have grey hair lolo, then they ask him what time period they’re in? He says 1666, oooff….they both make a joke to him saying u can appreciate the gravity of all this……good grief thats such a dad joke, then they telport away which ends up on a space ship, oh and Issac Newton saying what’s that word? Havity? No ohhhhhh Manvatiy…..MANIVITY!! What’s MANVITY!? Lolo
Anyways, on the ship they land on, they get out of the flaming tardis thata playing the lyrics wild blue yonder, hmm wonder why
So they go out to explore but then the tardis vanishes, turns out the tardis has telported away for 2 reasons 1. To rebuild itself and 2. To run away from what ever is on the ship, so now there abandoned in God knows where…and I mean that God knows where…because they start exploring the ship, where they find a long hallway so the Doctor randomly taps on the floor and a cart pops up so they enter it and drive it up to the robot…
BTW this robot seems barley functional it’s moving 1 step per like uh every 5 min, it doesn’t speak to them it just makes 1 small step, lolo…ok the hell is going on? So they both find a technician’s room to check the routers and all that…see if things are still running, the Doctor leaves Donna alone for a few min to go in another room to reboot the routers, then the Doctor returns in the room and tells her he finished…
Donna then tells him about how she’s been thinking about what if her mother and daughter and husband still standing in that alleyway waiting for them, what if they never return….
Oh well that doesn’t matter because we see in another room Donna enter towards the Doctor and starts talking to him….wait a min ok something is off here….yeah turns out it ain’t either of them, it’s 2 Clones of them and they both start saying my arms are too long….yeah what’s that about yall wondering I bet…..then we zoom down to the 2 of those copies and see there arms are long…well Donna’s Clone has 1 long arm only while the Doctors Clone has 2 long arms lolo…this is weird
So then they get cornered by the 2 Clones and here’s where things get weirder, yes that’s right weirder…as If this episode couldn’t get any weirder….the 2 of them mention if they can just fix there arms maybe they can talk, then Donna says why are they looking at us like we’re food? Which the Doctor Clone says food? Thats funny thing when I sort out the arms I have a problem with the jaw….
Yeah his jaw just elongates to the floor, I did say this gets weirder….anyways the 2 of them run and get back in the Buggy, but the 2 Clones are and this is where it gets weird, they are crawling on all 4s towards them all while growing ginormously…..ok what’s even going on anymore lolo….also did I forget to mention that there on the edge of space, because according to this episode space has an edge and limit…..ok I guess
Anyways, so now our 2 characters have to escape these monstrosities….this episode becomes a who can I trust type situation, because every time our 2 characters are together talking together they’re not sure who’s who and if they should trust said version of themselves that’s interacting with one another…..btw we learn one thing from this special that doesn’t sit well with me….
It’s that the Doctor tells Donna that he doesn’t remember where exactly he was born from….what how? How does he not know where he was born from? Anyways the Doctor and Donna find out bit later what the 2 copies are trying to do….They’re trying to scare them to activate there 2 brains so they can read them and study them to become 100% like them….why u may ask?
Well so they can get off this hunk of junk and cause havoc in the world….well that means our dynamic duo need to stop them, so how do they stop them? Well they need to get to the robot before the 2 creatures do..because turns out they turned the robot on to press the button at the end of the ship to detonate the ship so they then can escape on the tardis when it returns…dunn dunn dunnnn…..
So our gang hears the tardis has returned…but it’s all the way down the long hallway so the duo Try to reach the door before the 2 imposters do….but the 2 impostors make it out first….so our duo starts running behind them trying to catch up, Donna and her Clone start fighting each other
Same happens with both Doctor’s, it’s now become a fight to the death…well sorta because we know our duo won’t die…anyways the robot is close to the button, our main Doctor makes it onto thr tardis and accidentally pulls in the fake Donna somehow not recognizing her…wow that kinda just hurts actually, he just left Donna there…but don’t worry he comes back as soon as he recognized that was fake Donna and picks up the real Donna…so they finally head out of there and the ship explodes with the 2 vampire Clones on board…yay finally..
So anyways they head back to there normal time and period, out of the deep end of space
So when they land back guess who is outside of the door…it’s Wilfred Mott…he’s still alive and he’s in a wheelchair…
Sadly this was his last and only footage he was able to film before he passed away, but it’s amazing that he was willing to return….it was so nice seeing him reunite with the Doctor after all these years…Wilfred seems so happy to see the Doctor…he gives him a hug, Donna asks where her family is….Wilfred says they’re OK there Bunkered down ar home…Doctor says Bunkered down from what? Then all a sudden little explosion behind them happens and chaos starts happening, people attacking each other…
Wilfred says it’s been happening everywhere, everyone is attacking each other….it’s madness….and the Doctor looks out in the distance in shock…and here’s the teaser trailer for next week’s episode
Ohhh I can’t wait till that review gets posted…hope yall enjoy the review
