Book 2:

Firstly the rating, let’s get into that first before the review..Overall season 2 in my opinion is really when I started getting more invested into the series, I liked this season better because they introduced to us Toph, without her the gang feels kinda incomplete….plus found this season more funny, so Overall I’ll give book 2 a solid 10/10

so the gang finds this slightly odd old man who knows Earth Bending, unfortunately for them he gets captured by Zukos sister Azula and her 2 friends named Ty Lee who’s is a cheerful full of energetic girl…and Mai who’s this brooding dark female character who’s most the time silent and keeps to herself, but when she talks she talks in a low manner that shows no emotion…

So anyways after the Avatar saves the kook named Bumi, he tells Aang he will need to find a different Earth Bending teacher to teach him Earth Bending…..he leaves then the group heads out, they head to a jungle thata heavily covered in vines, leaves, trees ans a swamp…..anyways Aang sees a vision of a little girl running away so he follows her, which leads him up to a little blind girl who’s laughing at him, I wonder what this means hmmmm

Anyways after meeting some random people in the swamp who are all about nature, heck one guy can use vines and seaweed to cover himself into a giant monster, the gang heads out to a city where there still looking for an Earth Bending teacher…..luckily it so happens an underground fighting arena they attend, where they see this guy named the Boulder about to go fight a small blind girl, ohhhhh its the blind girl from Aangs vision….the Boulder says the Boulder feels conflicted about fighting a small blind girl

She insults the Boulder by calling him the pebble, which then the…which then the Boulder said ok the Boulders conflict is now over…..lolo

So after she beats the Boulder loses against her yeah she beats the Boulder, Aang challenges her, he tries to talk to her but she won’t listen to him….he ends up beating her because he’s the Avatar, now I do wanna point out something the developers of this show made sure to use actual real life martial arts fighting techniques for each characters Bending abilities, now that’s actually kinda cool if u ask me….

So the gang later finds her at her house because they ask around about a blind girl, people send them to the richest family the Beifong family, so they head to the house which is walled off..they sneak inside the wall, they get accepted into eating dinner with the family that night…so there sitting at the table eating, while Tophs Earth Bending teacher is there…explaining he’s been teaching her low class of Earth Bending…

So after dinner she and Aang walk outside and they get captured, turns out the Boulder is wanting to hold them for ransom so the Beifong family will pay them money…..so the Beifong family head there to get their daughter back, Aangs friends go and save Aang, the Beifong family leave without them but Toph goes back to help him…..so now she exposed herself to her family who isn’t supportive of her secret identity…

Anyways she sneaks off to go with Aang, but her parents hire a bounty hunter and her teacher to go get her back, that Aang kidnapped her…wow what a manipulative parent he is,

Now this is a great moment to play out one my favorite moments of her insulting Sokka, so in this specific moment they’ve been on the run they can’t get any sleep because everyone is after them, every time they fly to an area they get caught by Azula and her friends…..so they land on a mountain hoping there safe but nope Azula and her friends show up to hunt them down…so the gang get into a fighting stance and here’s the dialog that gets me…

Toph: we can take them, 3 on 3.

Sokka: actually Toph there’s 4 of us.

Toph: oh I’m sorry I didn’t count you, you know no Bending and all.

Sokka: I CAN STILL FIGHT!

Toph: Ok 3 on 3 plus Sokka

Sokka: GRRRRRR!

lolo that scene always gets me…it always makes me laugh

So anyways if yall wondering how Toph gets along with Katara? Well her and Katara are bickering alot, and alot…..to the point she heads out on her own, but she bumps into Iroh who makes her some tea and teaches her some morals, that friends should be allowed to help her that not everything has to be herself and on her own….that just because ur friends help u it’s not because they envy her because she’s blind no they’re just being friendly…

He tells her about his nephew and she gives him advice to be there for his nephew….so she heads back to the gang to bad they’re being attacked by Zuko and his sister, who both end up fighting each other because each one of them wants the credit of bringing in the Avatar, but Toph and Aangs friends show up and help out….Iroh shoes up gets injured and Zuko tells them in a screaming matter to get out!!

So now Toph teaches Aang how to do Earth Bending, unfortunately Aang isn’t good at learning it granted he knows water Bending, so this is tough for him, he does eventually learn Earth Bending when worse comes to shove when Sokka gets stuck into the floor of a Crack, he has to save him or die of starvation because he’s been gone for almost a whole day, so Aang tries to save him but he can’t….but luckily Toph is watching them so she pulls Sokka out of the hole once Aang demands his staff back from her and she taunts him into punching a Boulder, so now he knows Earth Bending…all it required was to taunt Aang and push him….

Anyways the gang heads out over the desert for vacation, there allowing each other to have one Vacation and pick a place to go to…..Sokka wants to find this lost library that’s somewhere in the desert….so they head out there with a stranger they find at a bar who is also looking for the library as well for vast knowledge.

So they eventually locate it by finding a giant tower sticking out of the ground, turns out it’s a tower of a giant building that’s buried under the sand…talk about an abandoned town…lolo, they find there way inside but Toph stays outside besides she doesn’t like books……anyways guess what they find inside? Well besides a wolf they see enter the library, they see a giant maze like structure of walla of books then a giant spirit owl who speaks comes flying down in front of them

He tells them humans aren’t welcomed because
Men always come to find knowledge to defeat one another, the gang lies to the owl tells him there not here to do that….so the owl pets them through after having them give 1 item each that they consider valuable with knowledge….so guess what Sokka gives the owl? A rope tied on a not….which the owl Says ur clearly not a bright one are u?…..lolo I agree

So they peruse around, Sokka and Aang find a time dial in a tower that tells them about the eclipse, apparently during the eclipse the fire Benders bowers go dormant, so they can attack thr fire nation then…..so the owl finds out they lied, he tries to attack them and chase them, they escape…unfortunately while they were inside these bandits came out of nowhere and stole Oppa….dunnn dunnn dunnn

So now the gang have to both go to Ba Sing Se to warn them about the eclipse to tell them to help them attack the fire nation at there weakest, all while now they have to go find Oppa…so Aang goes on his own to find Oppa because he’s emotionally broken, he misses Oppa, so now the other members are left to walk in the desert alone which leads to one my favorite funny moments….

Where they are getting thirsty, so Sokka being Sokka sees a cactus and cuts it open, then drinks from it and here’s the dialog then here’s the clip

Katara: Sokka wait, u shouldn’t be eating strange plants

Sokka: there’s water trapped inside these

Katara: idk

Sokka: suit urself, it’s very thirst quenching though (Sokka starts hallucinating) drink cactus juice it will quench u, nothing quencher, It’s the quenchiest!


Katara: I think u might have had enough

So eventually they find Aang who hasn’t found Oppa, he’s about to give up but they find an old vehicle they ride where they do find the people who kidnapped Oppa, they tell them they sold it to Ba Sing Se, so Aang gets furious and starts using his Airbending powers, uh oh….

So they head to Ba Sing Se to warn them of the eclipse and too find Oppa as well….so they get there, Toph gets them tickets to get onto the train to get into the city, but guess who they bump into luckily? Suki, yeah she’s there without her makeup or outfit on…..she helps them sneak into Ba Sing Se, they take an alternative route through the mountains to get into Ba Sing Se…

So she gets them into the walls of Ba Sing Se, she and Sokka kiss, Sokka apologizes for the fact during this mision he felt over protective of Suki, yet she can handle herself, Zhe pardons ways with them she has to go back to her tribe…..so they get into Ba Sing Se where they get escorted to there house they have for them, along with a lady who’s there to watch an eye on them…I’m sorry I meant help them out lolo….she’s totally not there to make sure they stay in line, noo totally not at all…what would make yall think that…

So anyways they meet with the second hand in command who tells them there’s not been any attacks at Ba Sing Se in uhhh forever, ans they’re gonna keep that piece…so in other words he aunt listening to them, also btw the leader of Ba Sing Se is slightly delusional unfortunately, he takes advice and believes words and wisdom from a bear wearing a suit……yep that should summarize up what the leader of Ba Sing Se is like, he’s nuts, so they head back to there house as honored guests and just hangout I guess?

But no they are they’re to find Appa as well so they start putting missing signs up for him, but they find out that’s not allowed here in Ba Sing Se….but who cares they continue to do it anyways …..we get a singular episode that shows we’re Appa has been, turns out get this he Escaped from the circus….the people who brought him brought him to put in a circus, he then hides in a farm, 2 farmers get scared of him then attacks him…he escapes and hides in a little hut, all injured with splinters sticking out of him…all alone and sad ughhh he falls asleep…

Next day randomly Suki and her group track Appa to the hut by strands of his fur on the ground, Suki approaches Appa slowly to insure him she’s they’re to help, she leaves some fruit on the floor for him and goes back to ask her group for help…so they try to approach Appa who’s scared and seems he’s ready to attack them…..ugh I hate seeing any animals in pain and scared…

Anyways they get Appas trust, they clean him off and take odd the shackles on him so he licks one them…awww, but then Azula and her friends show up to attack them….because they’re after the Avatar of course duhhh, so Appa heads out where he finds Ba Sing Se but gets captured and tied in a basement under Ba Sing Se…dunnn dunn dunnn

Anyways Zuko and Iroh are here in the tow as well, Iroh opens up his own tea shop which Is nice, Zuko helps run it……this leads me into a episode I really found emotional, we see in this episode Iroh buying a picnic basket with some fruit…he says it’s a special occasion today, what’s this occasion? Well we will get to that….

He then notices a small kid crying so he comes over and starts singing to the kid….”leaves from the vine, falling so slow, like fragile tiny shells, drifting in the foam, little soilder boy, come marching home, brave soilder boy”

Aww that was nice, wonder what that song was about, anyways he then sees a man trying to rob someone, so wanna know what he does? He helps shows the man the correct pose to robe someone because he can tell the robber is new at this….lolo

He then sits down with him and makes tea cot him, tells him he should pursue his passion….talk about a lucky day, this guy meets a random old guy who makes tea who believes In him…what be the Coincidences? Answer very slim….so then Iroh goes up to a small hill with a tree on top of it, where he puts down his basket then takes out a blanket, some fruit, some Incense, a picture and he lights up the incense with his fingers…

Then we get to see the picture, it’s of his dead son…..ohhhhhh, and he starts crying and says happy birthday son, if I was only able to save u, then he starts singing the song again “leaves from the vine, falling so slow, like fragile tiny shells, drifting in the foam, little soilder boy, come marching home, brave soilder boy”….

Ugh this scene makes me tear up…ok let’s move on before we stay in this season too long, so Zuko finds Oppa in the lower grounds of Ba Sing Se, all tied up, he’s about to kill Oppa but Iroh comes up behind Zuko and pleads and begs for Zuko to think about is this what he really wants? To toss his life away? A second chance at life away? So Zuko screams and frees Oppa…

So Aang ans his friends are taking out the right hand man and his goons, they make it to the outside where Oppa flies up, bites down on thr right hand man and yeets him into the ocean, so the gang go to Oppa give him a hug awww, Aang says he missed him…while he’s tearing up, awwww…..so then they go talk to the king of Ba Sing Se, to tell him about his right hand man and his betrayal…

But the right hand man shows up and manipulates the king, because he’s just that gullible, but the king decides to listen to the Avatar to allow him to prove it….so once they prove it he gets tossed into prison, unfortunately Azula/her 2 friends show up disguised as the Lyoshi Warriors to sneak there way into the palace, dunn dunn dunn well that’s not right of them to do…

Anyways Toph heads back to the house bur she’s ambushed by the 2 guys who were hired to hunt her down, they capture her in a metal box, then transport her onto a carriage back to her father….dunnn dunn dunnn, wonder how our main characters gonna get out of there mess?

Well glad yall asked, Toph creates a new form of Earth Bending by doing metal Bending, damn that’s impressive this blind girl who keep in mind is still a kid just invented a new form of Bending, which no Benders ever figured out to do….how she do it? Turns out metal is just a compacted version of Earth so she uses her senses to sense the vibrations of the metal to know where the weak spots are….damn that’s impressive….

So she breaks out, the 2 are baffled on how she Escaped, she then shoves them into the box lockes them in there and tells them I’m the world’s greatest Earth Bender, don’t u 2 thunder heads forget about it…..which leads to a line that I laugh at from the bounty hunter ans the teacher inside the metal box….

Hunter: I’m gonna be stuck in here forever with u aren’t I?

Teacher: I have to go to the restroom

Huhter: (bangs his head)

Lolo, so Toph reunites with the group, they go on to take Azula ans her friends….while Toph and Sokka fo rescue the king, also Zuko is down there with Katara, all alone, he starts opening up to her, how the fact that he lost his mom thanks to this war and she does start trusting him…plus feeling bad for him, she offers to use her magical water charm to heal his scars if he wants…

But then Azula and Iroh come in, she offers him redemption in his father’s eyes…Iroh says that form of redemption is not the redemption u want….take a guess what he ends up picking? That’s right the wrong choice, he goes back and attacks Aang, oh jeepers and joins Azula to face his father eye to eye, who banished him…..so our gang escaped Katara is mad that she started trusting Zuko but once again he betrayed them…

Oh btw Aang is knocked out unconscious, he is now in the spirit realm…
