Mythbusters: ohhhh yall are in for a treat with this one…….so I wanna quickly mention that I love this show, hands down it’s amazing….I grew up watching it with my cousin, dad, and uncle…..heck I still rewatch episodes to this day because I own all seasons on iTunes…..yes iTunes, I know I sound old Sue me lolo…..anyways let’s get into reviewing this classic show….
So for this review I’ll just be giving yall an idea of what this show is like, review 1 or 2 episodes and tell u where I lost interest in this show….also I’ll be telling yall about the unfortunate downfall of this show, and why it happened
Also here’s the intro to the show, I hope yall enjoy
Who are the Mythbusters? Well ain’t that the million-dollar question…..well we got

We also had 2 temporary side characters named

Now unfortunately before we get into talking about this show we need to talk about the passing away of 2 of these characters in Mythbusters……
In 2019 Jessi Combs died at age 39, she was a racer….she wanted to become the fastest girl alive behind a 4-wheeler race car but unfortunately the front wheels had a failure which caused her to crash and die……thats just depressing, well at least she went out with a bang…..but also unfortunately this isn’t the only Mythbusters to have died…
In 2020 Grant Imahara passed away at the age of 49 due to a brain aneurysm……Jesus lord, unfortunately for him the doctors did discover the brain aneurysm before he u know died, also double unfortunately for him they couldn’t do anything about it to help him……so sadly I think in June 2020 he passed away, I remember hearing about that news…..it hit me hard, since I grew up with this show I know the character…..it was sad to her this iconic engineer who had a bright future passed away at age 49…..
Now in honor of Grant let’s talk about some good facts…..such as turns out Grant Imahara actually helped makes the robotic stuff in
Star Wars the Phantom Menace
Star Wars Attack Of The Clones
Star Wars Revenge Of The Sith
The 3 first 3 Jurassic Park films
Matrix 2 and 3
Yeah I didn’t know about this until I did some research on this show to add to my review…..also guess what? Adam Savage also helped out, he helped build props for
Star Wars Attack Of The Clones
The Mummy
The Matrix 2
Terminator 3
Yeah these 2 helped bring to life these iconic films…..yeah ain’t that something…..it’s fun reading and learning about characters u once knew helped make iconic films…
Also here’s another fun fact, so while rewatching Mythbusters the other day I stumbled upon an episode in like sesson 8 where both Adam and Jamie mentioned they had a cameo in CSI…
Now do I know which season of CSI or which episode? No, doesn’t mean I’m gonna to watch CSI either. I never cared for the show, just thought that piece of info was fun to mention…because I was surprised.
So overall I’m gonna give Mythbusters a solid 10/10 I highly recommend it…also remember do not try anything they do at home, they are what u call experts
BTW Adam Savage is doing good for himself, he did went on to Star in that spinoff show Mythbusters Jr. And now he has his own YouTube channel which he constantly posts on…..as for Jamie Hyneman he apparently got an award from the college he works at….he also gives lectures at universities……hey I’m glad they’re doing great for themselves truly I am….
BTW here’s Adam Savages YouTube channel in case any of y’all wanna check it out.
https://youtube.com/@tested?si=zj9V8ptStgmhOxkZ
But that’s not what we came here to discuss no we came to discuss about Mythbusters….I just thought I’d give context to everything that happened before and afterwards….so without further a due are u guys ready!! Alright let’s get into the review of Mythbusters shall we?
BTW here’s one of my favorite soundtracks from the show…
Let’s get the rating out of the way, also I’ll put my rating at the bottom as well…
Honestly, I absolutely love this show, I adore it….I find myself rewatching this show every opportunity I get, so far I’ve rewatched the show 9 times….this show is my childhood….overall 10/10 I highly recommend it..
So if yall couldn’t tell what this show is about, we’ll let me enlighten yall…..it’s a show where these group of people test these myths in each episode….hence the name Mythbusters….the original 2 Mythbusters were Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman…..Grant Imahara, Tori Belleci and Kari Byron didn’t show up later until like seasons 3 I believe….yeah season 3 that seems about right…..anyways now I wanna mention a few of my most favorite episodes I re-watch constantly…..first episode were gonna talk about is called Escape from Alcatraz…it’s a episode in season 2 where both Adam and Jamie tackle the myth about the escape from Alcatraz…

If yall don’t know about the escape from Alcatraz….or know what Alcatraz Is well let me give yall a brief rundown of the place….so Alcatraz was once a prison which was also labeled as The Rock because it’s a prison that’s on a Rock snapped Island…..anyways this prison was considered to be the most Unescapable prison ever made….heck it housed the most infamous criminals such as one yall might recognize…Al Capone….yeah that’s right Alcatraz Island housed that guy….if u know him u know him, if u don’t then ehhh well Google him up…lolo
Anyways one night on June 11th 1962….3 prisoners named
Clearance Anglin
John Anglin
Frank Morris
Escaped Alcatraz prison…how u may ask? By careful planning….since they worked as barbers on the island they were able to collect up hair to use on their fake dummy heads they made to fool the guards at night as they escape…..they each made dummy heads of themselves, I’ll put images of the dummy heads here…..

They also made a lifeboat out of 50 raincoats…where did they get 50 raincoats? Idk I forgot…and they made paddles out of wood…..also they’re were gonna be 4 prisoners who were gonna escape the other prisoner was named Adam West…..no not that Adam West who plays Batman in the 1960s show…..they just so happen to share a same name…
But the night they Escaped through their vents in their cells…Adam West’s vent wouldn’t open so they left him behind and Escaped without him…the next day the guards discovered that the 3 prisoners Escaped and Adam West told them everything…yeah he tattled on them…..to this day no one knows what happened to the escapees, they were never found….what was found though was a piece of the lifeboat and one paddle on the roof….it’s kinda Haunting to think that’s the finale pieces of them that were ever found….
To this day no one knows what happened to them, some theorize that they drowned…some say they made it and Escaped, and some say they got eaten by sharks….granted there are no sharks in the Bay Area so that one is debunked……before I continue I wanna mention something I use to live out near San Francisco myself, so most often then not me and my family went on the Alcatraz tour…I wish that I was kidding when I say this but we went they’re roughly 20 times….yeah 20 times, at this point I might as well be the tourist guide instead of the tape recorders they use instead as the tour guide they’re……I just thought I’d give that little fun fact about myself…
So that brings us into what the Mythbusters are here for…since they’re show is located out they’re in San Francisco they decided why not tackle the myth about the Escape from Alcatraz…they wanna see if they can prove if the 3 prisoners Escaped successfully…if so where did they go…..ohh yes I bet yall can see why this is one my favorite episodes….
Anyways they go visit the island to get a look around, and then they head to a place that uses scale models of the Pacific Bay….why do they come here u may ask? Easy to test a small-scale boat to see if truly the 3 escapees’ boat really sailed to Angel Bay…..which is the island located across Alcatraz……
So the Mythbusters find out that no possible way their boat sailed to Angel Bay due to the currents of the water…that night….especially at night since at night the tides get higher and rougher….so after multiple attempts and the boat kept moving underneath the Golden Gate Bridge….they conclude that no the 3 escapees didn’t head to Angel Bay….they instead headed towards the Marine Headlands….
So now with this knowledge the Mythbusters get to building their own raft and paddles, after visiting a museum that has the only paddle that was left behind….so they can get an idea of what to use to build the paddles and the raft….so they make their raft using the same dark green raincoats…they make their paddles using wood of course……btw before we continue any further I wanna talk quickly about the other 2 side myths they do…oh yes u thought that each episode only focuses on one myth? Pffftt hahahah no….They’re usually 3 to 2 myths in one episode …yeah 3 to 2 myths aren’t that impressive…..anyways I won’t focus that long on these 2 myths but the other 2 myths they do in this episode is
A myth about ducks, specifically can a duck’s quack echo bounce off a wall and reflect back…..but first they have to get some duck’s and get them to quack….well first one is easy they go to a farm to get some duck’s, second thing not so easy…they try they’re best to get them to quack….all the Mythbusters succeed at doing is getting annoyed….heck Jamie tries a tactic with his duck using a quacker….he tries to get the duck to mimic it…but it ain’t working, which leads to a line Jamie says that I remember and quote in my mind alot….
“Quack, Quack damn u” Lolo…..they eventually find out that each of them holding a duck and aiming them at each other will cause them to Quack as if they’re talking to each other….so they take them to a silent wear house room and use a computer to test the around waves of the duck’s quack…..quick answer the myth is a bust, ain’t no way a duck’s quack loud enough to bounce back off a wall…..and towards them, so guess what they do with the duck’s? If yall guessed they cooked them and ate them…then what the hell is wrong with u? U need to go get some help lolo..
No they find them a nice calming duck house side near the docks of the bay so they can live there lives they’re and to add to final insult the duck starts quaking loudly opening it’s mouth while quacking while it didn’t do that earlier and Adam says “where were those quacks when we needed them” yeah where were they?
And the second myth is can they use mind control methods by using a chip implant into them and into a dog so they can talk to them Telepathically…..take a guess what the answer is? It’s a myth busted…..I mean what yall expect really? Are yall really that surprised? Anyways moving on back to the Alcatraz myth….
So now comes the night they pull off the myth, they’ve prepared…they built their lifeboat, made the paddles, and got a third person to join them…a swimming conductor…they also have paramedics on a boat ready to be at their aid in case things go wrong….also here’s another quote I remember in my head that came from Jamie…he goes over the safety signals…so he starts waving both his hands over his head and he says this……” this means I need help, this is not hello” Lolo
Also if y’all wondering why I said it’s finally the night? Well, it’s because they waited till night time to pull off the myth to wait till the tides got to the level of coldness they were at when the 3 escapees Escaped and when the tides were rushing in…..anyways they get into their lifeboat and start sailing and I am gonna quote a line from Jamie that plays through my head in my head constantly “I can’t see Alcatraz, because there’s some big damn boat in the view, our legs are falling asleep” lolo….
Anyways so by the end of this episode idk what they even accomplished, I mean they didn’t really determine anything…to this day no one still know what happened to the 3 escapees, yes the Mythbusters said they probably definitely didn’t head to Angel Island because of the currents and tides…..but also none of that can be confirmed because as said the escapees were never found…..
But yeah I love this episode…
On a side note, sorry if this comes off as a promotion…trust me it’s not, but if u at home have kids who want to do some home science experiments that can be easily done with objects u can buy at stores and just a little bit of patience….then may I recommend buying these 2 Scholastic Science Fair Mythbusters books where these books give u instructions to easy at home science experiments….heck I still have my copies…

But no seriously if ur kids want to get into science but find it boring, introduce them to this TV series and these 2 books, they make science fun… Anyway back to the review….well, I guess this was technically part of the review….u know what I mean..
There’s an episode where they do a myth around the disappearance of Jimmy Hoffa.

So if u don’t know about Jimmy Hoffa, here’s a bit of history for y’all…
James Riddle Hoffa was an American labor union leader who served as the president of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters from 1957 until 1971. From an early age, Hoffa was a union activist, and he became an important regional figure with the IBT by his mid-20s
He ended up getting tangled in the crime world, which didn’t go well for him. Because on July 30th, 1982, Jimmy Hoffa disappeared without a trace….to this day no one knows what happened to Jimmy Hoffa, some if not everyone presume him dead…but how did he die?
Well there are multiple theories, 1 of which says that an angry mob killed him and then dumped his body somewhere, or a mob boss sent his men to kill Jimmy Hoffa…. there are also multiple theories as to where he was buried.
In one legend, his body was disintegrated in a rendering plant.
The second legend, his body was encased in concert, and put in a strip club in Las Angeles.
The third legend, he’s in Florida swamps. He’s at the bottom of numerous lakes particularly near Michigan where he disappeared.
The 4th and final theory, he’s been buried somewhere in Giants Stadium in New Jersey.
The Mythbusters are here to test if the myth of him being buried at Giants Stadium is true, so they take their body detector they made by testing it on a pigs body they buried in concert in front of their warehouse, btw That made the whole area smell awful.
So if y’all are wondering if they end up finding a body in the stadium? Well for u see nope, they don’t locate a body…I guess the myth of Jimmy Hoffa’s disappearance will forever be a mystery, but at least they bust the myth that he was buried at that stadium.
So another specific myth I wanna talk quickly about is in an episode in season 2 called Sinking the Titanic……now I ain’t gonna list all the myths they do in this episode but I wanna talk about one specific myth….where they test a myth about a guy who went on stage and used a trombone.the trombonist decided to spice things up by putting a firecracker in his trombone for some reason….besides being ah stupid, then the firecracker comes flying out of the trombone, hits the conductor, and knocks the conductor off the stage…into the audience knocking the audience over like dominoes….
It blow the bell of the trombone wide open, shoots the slide out, the second violinist and burns his lips…..yeah this myth sounds like a doozy……a myth that clearly won’t go well…
So they take they’re Crash Test Dummy named Buster to a stage that they are using to test the myth, they buy a trombone…get some explosives to put inside the trombone, hire an explosives expert to oversee the explosives to make sure things go safe and sound…..they put Buster upwards on a stand to stand him up…the put chairs under the stage as if it’s a concert….they place the trombone on a stand in front of Buster…with a rope that the Mythbusters will pull to activate the explosion….
So they bring in their explosives expert named Jack, and they start the test…..first test uhhhh Buster doesn’t fall over…..second test uhhh Buster falls over but not into the chairs, he instead falls face first in front of the trombone….well that’s not right, third test same outcome…..so yeah every test they do it never works out…..now it’s time for the final test so they put in the firecracker in to trombone for one last test and now is the mother of all tests….so now we get a montage of the failed tests all while we see footage of military bands play music…and here’s that specific music that is playing
So we see the montage of the tests all failing then the last test goes off and Buster doesn’t fall over so Adam gets on stage and kicks Buster off the stage lolo down into the chairs….well I guess just like Buster and his name, that myth was busted….
Let’s now talk about another favorite of my episodes…..called Walking on Water, it’s a season 5 episode….the episode revolves around an entire episode relating to myths about ninjas…..yeah u heard that right, ninjas….and Adam is a huge fan of ninjas….so he’s very stoked about this…
Anyways he and Jamie tackle if they can walk on water so they head to a public pool to test out the myth using some ancient Japanese wooden things u put at the bottom of ur feet….take a guess how this goes, well let’s just say he falls into the water….yeah there no walking on water here just a lot of Wipeouts
So now Adam has to come up with a new foot wear creation to test out to help walk on water….he builds these rods made of foam, painted black and covered in aluminum….and this time it gets Adam to stand on the water well yay, downside is uhhh he can’t move….so uhhhhh then he falls down face first splat…..so I guess u could say this myth is looking half busted at least….
So now to Grant, Tori and Kari….They’re testing the myth of can a ninja catch a sword with its 2 bare hands before it hits them in the head….yeah I don’t know much about ninjas but I can already tell this myth will be a bust….I won’t explain why now but I will in a small bit…..anyways so they first test the strength of each of them on how hard they can swing a sword into a ninja head…so they use a ballistic jell head, put a ninja mask on it….and as Kari is explaining the rules of what they’re testing for…all a sudden Adam shows up swings into action jumps in front of Tori…waving his hands all willy nilly like he’s fighting…then says “ur kung-fu no good! Eyyy yaaa!” All while shoving his hand in Toris face lolo….
Honestly anything Adam does makes me laugh, so first Tori goes up first I think…..then swings the sword down on the fake head and Adam in his normal self way starts laughing and puts his hand on his head as If he’s mimicking being in pain…then goes on to say “master! (Chuckles) He hit me in the head! (Chuckles) U teach him a lesson!”….so they each go up one by one and try to whack the ninja as hard as possible…
Grant ends up swinging the hardest so they go sith his speed and time to calibrate into the robot hands they’re gonna build…..so they build the hands out of ballistic jell, they take a mold of Toris hands for it….they set up metal arms and calibrate it to clamp together at the correct time before the sword swings down on the ninjas head….
So if yall are curious about how the tests go? Well not so well….some of the tests the hands closed a little to slow, after the sword hit the ninjas head…some of the other tests had the sword bounce back up from the ninjas head into thr clasped together hands which catches it….yeah little too late……also one of the tests the sword slices off a layer of the ballistic jell hand….so uh yeah talk about stopping the sword but at a cost of loosing most of ur flesh on ur hand….yeah ouch……anyways to wrap things up myth is busted….exactly that that ballistic jell head….
Heck they also go visit a martial arts class and the people they’re also said yeah realistically a hand couldn’t stop a sword from swining down without any damage happen to u….so myth busted…..anyways back to Jamie, he has a plan for Adam to walk on water….so get this he gets some help from the office to help pour corn starch into a bit empty square bin…..then pour water into it…then mix it up with blue dye to create basically slime…
But hey its sole form of water so it counts right? Yeah let’s be real here this ain’t water at this point….thats pushing it a little bit far…..at this point Adam may as well walk across jello….I mean that’s some of form of water right? It has water in it…..so yeah he finally gets to run across water…..I say very loosely because that ain’t no water….also that’s what I love about this show when in doubt and a myth failing they try to push the limits of absurdity….just to get the outcome they were looking for…..
Anyways myth is busted, I mean yeah no surprise u cannot walk on water…and besides Adam didn’t walk on water he walked on cornstarch or as it’s called oobleck…….
Also, there are 2 episodes where they test James Bond myths, titled James Bond Special 1 and 2….I won’t talk about the myths they try out here because I recommend going watching this show, reason I being this up is because I just want to mention the small skit in the beginning because it always gets a laugh out of me..
Kari: (speaks in Russian accent) James I’m frightened.
Jamie: I sense trouble.
Adam: (pops out with Tori and Grant) (speaks in Russian accent) U have every right to be afraid, my lovely. For I Baron Von Savage, have concocted a series of diabolical tests for u ans ur penguin friend here.
Kari: but why?
Adam: why? Because it’s time for the Mythbusters James Bond Special!
Jamie: not this time Baron.
Adam: no?
Jamie: it’s Huneman. James Hyneman (Proceeds to shoot at the screen where blood dripples down)
I told u this was a funny skit, I love it when this show does its funny skits at the beginning of the episode, I do highly recommend watching this series if u have Max unfortunately not every episode of Mythbusters is available on there for some reason….so ur best shot is to get a computer, download iTunes then buy all 14 seasons. Or buy all 14 seasons on DVD.
Trust me it’s worth it, it’s worth owning that series, it is a classic 2000s show that still holds up to this day…..
Also, there’s an episode in season 5 where they do a full episode of testing myths on the MacGyver show….btw heres the opening theme for the MacGyver show in case some y’all don’t know of MacGyver, trust me this theme song is so catchy..
So anyways Grant, Tori, and Carry test the myth of whether is it possible to make an ultralight plane out of using garbage bags, bamboo sticks, and duct tape…because in an episode where MacGyver is stuck in a war camp…he has to rescue a guy with an injured leg…so he builds them both an ultralight…
So come to the time to test their build, they put 2 busters in the seats….and are standing on a cliff…ready to launch this homemade ultralight off the cliff….instead of it launching into the air it instead heads straight downwards the hill nose first….no flicks whatsoever, just a glide downwards…also the plan crashes upside down at the bottom…yeah, I don’t think that was a win…
Which leads to one of my favorite/funniest lines the narrator says….he says “If that’s a glide, I’d hate to see a plummet. There was just enough power to keep the 3 wheels airborne. But the tail looked more like a vertical plow. On a brighter note, Mac’s passenger would have forgotten all about his broken leg”
hahahahahahahah, because they crashed upside down at the bottom of the cliff…so the guy with the injured leg would now have a lot more massive injuries to worry about….God I love this narrators sense of humor…
Also here’s a list of my favorite Mythbusters quotes…
“Am I missing an eyebrow”
“I reject ur reality, and substitute my own”
“Failure is always an option on Mythbusters”
“If I had any dignity, that would have been humiliating!”
“Today’s forecast: (pops an umbrella open) Seventy percent chance…of science!”
“(First water-walking test; to Jamie) Come, Silent Walrus! Let us storm the castle! I will put on my safety gear.”
“(As their model Hindenburg accidentally catches on fire) Man, these things are ALWAYS catching on fire! …That is the textbook definition of “irony,” kids.”
“(Holding up two bottles of explosive ingredients with Pixellation over their names) This ingredient is made of Blur. Ha. And this has some Blur too. Blur is very dangerous; you don’t want to mix Blur with Blur.”
“I just had another one of those “what the hell are we doing?!” moments (numerous occasions)”
“(After a car going over a cliff fails to explode) Reality makes a crappy special effects crew.”
“Science+Beer=Good”
“(Jamie’s attempt to recreate Air-Vent Passageway is… not going well.)
Adam: Why, Thor, the god of thunder, is trying to enter my building!
Tory: Somebody needs to check that air conditioner!”
“(Wearing a tin foil mask/helmet as Jamie MacGyvers a heat ray out of a microwave) I wouldn’t say Jamie’s an Evil Genius. I’m not sure he’s evil and I’m not sure he’s a genius.”
“(After receiving Buster’s ballistics gel replacement in 22,000-foot Fall)
Adam: … And, his name is Ted as in busted.
Narrator: Or, as in exploited, detonated, and annihilated”
“Jamie: Our Death Ray doesn’t seem to be working. I’m standing right in it… and I’m not dead yet.”
“Jamie wants big boom!”
“Adam: Gimme a countdown.
Jamie: 2, 3, 1. *fires chicken cannon”
“Jamie: [While Adam is digging a hole in the background] Adam doesn’t know it yet, but he’s digging his own grave.
Adam: What was that?
Jamie: Nothing! Keep digging!”
“Jamie: (About to detonate an explosive) Buh-bye!”
“(Blueprint for “10 Pounds of Poop in a 5-Pound Bag”.)
Jamie: Well, I’ve always heard it said, “ten pounds of *BEEP* in a five-pound bag”.
Adam: So have I, but because it’s a family show, we can’t say *BEEP*.
Jamie: Well, can we say crap?
Adam: Apparently we can say crap, but only twice in an episode, and we just did.
Jamie: Awww, crap.
“I always enjoy seeing Adam in pain.”
“Tory: Frank, why are you standing so far away?
Frank Doyle: Because I want to continue to live.
Tory: So the next question is, why am I standing so close?”
“(About Benjamin Franklin) And we killed a dead president!
Grant: He was never president…
[Grant and Kari walk away, not quite holding in their laughter.]
Tory: Wasn’t he? …Dammit.”
“Tori: Apparently, I am close to the size of the ballistics dummy, therefore I have to go and shop… for a bra. Once again, making my family proud.”
“Tori: Hey, it’s working…what the heck?”
“Adam: LET’S PILLAGE!
Tory: I don’t know if that’s legal in California.”
“The Narrator: Who are the MythBusters? Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman…between them, more than thirty years of special effects experience. They don’t just tell the myths — they put them to the test!”
“Adam puts out the Mythbuster Yodel.
3 copies of Adam sing “FIRE IN THE HOLE!” in sequence to form a chord.
Okay, Adam, now you’re just really taking the barbershop thing too far. Just press the detonation button, will ya?”
“The Narrator: Oblivious to all warnings, Grant and Tory set the scene, then get dressed for success: sombreros, boots, and bandoliers – a desperately clichéd battle looms between the tragically uncool, the undeniably hot, and these two idiots.”
Lolo I told u these are so funny and iconic….
Anyways I’m gonna end this review with 2 more episodes I wanna mention….so in an episode titled Holiday Special, both Adam and Jamie decide to take a break and not do a myth…..in Adam’s words we do not need to do a myth, its Christmas…..instead, they build a Rube Goldberg Machine…. that’s gonna have a bunch of mechanisms to it…..there Rube Goldberg Machine they’re gonna build will involve diet coke and mentos, Buster, a turkey, an oven, marbles, a toy robot, a bowling ball, some bowling pins, and a foot and a chair where Buster will be sitting on…..yeah things gonna get wild….
Also for yall who don’t know what a Rube Goldberg Machine is…let me enlighten u….a Rube Goldberg Machine is a machine that is designed to do a simple task in an indirect and overly complicated way…that relies on chain reactions…..I also recommend looking up videos on Rube Goldberg Machines to have a visual idea of what they look like…..
So they both get to making the Rube Goldberg Machine…..as for Tori, Kari and Grant they are testing a Christmas related myth…well they’re testing 2 myths but I’ll only be talking about one of the myths because this 1 specific myth well its something worth remembering and there’s a funny line that I remember…and well I vaguely remember the second myth they were testing….
So in this myth they’re testing the myth of if u drop a frozen turkey on ur foot or ur dog will it break ur foot and the dog…..yeah that’s F***ked up…..so they get a fake skeleton foot and a fake skeleton of a dog then cover them in ballistic jell…..and pffft I love the dog they make, well I’m hesitant to call it a dog…..so Kari makes the dog by spreading ballistic jell around the skeleton of the dog….she tries making the ears, and a tale….unfortunately though we can still see the entire skull and skeleton through the jell so she added googly eyes on it….which she ends up calling a “Flesh Eating Zombie Dog” lololo, And in her words she is giving it some “Flesh Eating Zombie Eyes”……whatever that means….
Also the narrator voice says “this is definitely not a breed recommended for families with small children” lolo
So what we end up with is a visible skeleton dog under few layers of ballistic jell, that’s yellow of course I forgot to mention that….a rough looking tale, and slightly wonky ears, one looking bigger then the other….and googly eyes aiming both separate directions….and Grant just sitting in the background with a hand over his face saying “that’s so odd”….all while laughing…..and Kari starts saying “I started out making a dog, I love it” Then starts petting it….and here’s the line that always gets me…and it’s from the narrator “nice doggy. Grant, u might want to sleep with one eye open tonight” lololo
Anyways back to Adam and Jamie there building there Rube Goldberg Machine, Jamie does a little round of bowling…so the narrator says “let’s go indoor bowling with Jamie” and we see Jamie tossing the bowling ball into the pins and he gets a strike!….wow that’s lucky I’m never that lucky when it comes to bowling….
Anyways so they end up building the Rube Goldberg Machine….they do multiple tests because each test something doesn’t go right….sometimes the soda didn’t land into the cone ahapped thing….sometimes the next chain reaction wouldn’t set off….some other times the toy robot had trouble moving straight forward to push on a fake hand that knocks over a oven…sometimes the turkey rolled sideways out the oven and off the Machine lolo…
Other times the marbles wouldn’t even make it all the way down zig zag slides…..so back to trio….they make a mechanism to drop a frozen turkey onto there fake foot they made, to no one’s surprise yes it does break the foot…..wow what a shocker, of course It would break ur foot…dropping a frozen turkey is like dropping a medium sized rock on ur foot….
So then they test it on there fake Flesh Eating Zombie Dog Kari made lolo……so they drop the turkey on it and what a surprise the bones snap……ok that’s depressing, bright side at least I now know to be 100 times more extra cautious when holding a frozen turkey while at home and my dogs near my feet…….because I don’t want anything bad happened to my dog, better yet nothing bad to any dogs period….
So then Kari brings out a second Flesh Eating Zombie Dog she made….wait a second, she made 2 of them? OK well second time the charm right? Well more like second time the exact same outcome….except only difference this time is one of the googly eyeballs comes popping out of the skull….which the narrator says “This drop is a real eye opener”….talk about a dark sense of humor…

Now what yall weren’t expecting is that they actually take these ballistic jell dogs and foot to the vets to get an X-ray of it to see if the damage is fatal….unfortunately the damage was fatal, which Kari says I know that’s not a real dog but I’m kinda feeling emotional right now….so conclusion uhhh just don’t drop a frozen turkey on ur foot especially ur pet….just be careful…..
So anyways back to Jamie and Adam they both finally get their Rube Goldberg Machine to work, the Coke and Mentos go well, the marbles work smoothly, and the toy monkey works great (right I just remembered there’s a toy monkey in this Rube Goldberg my bad) the robot toy hits his mark after struggling a bit, the turkey rolls our perfectly out of the oven, it perfectly hits the next contraption that sets off the nutcracker releasing a nut out of its mouth which sets off a next contraption until it reaches the end where a fake foot kicks Buster off his chair…..yayy it was a success….after like what 100 different retries?
To wrap up this review I’m gonna just talk about 1 more myth, because this review is already starting to get too long…..so in this specific episode of Mythbusters which is called Mission Impossible Mask…it’s a season 10 episode….in this episode both Adam and Jamie do a myth relating to Mission Impossible….which is can u really fool security with a realistic human mask that makes urself look like someone else…
So the Mythbusters go to a professional mask-making place where they take pictures of both of them so they can make a model of their faces so they can sculpt the latex masks…..btw this process takes a long time they first make the molds then put the latex inside it, then they have to add the hair which is a task for sure…they individually 1 by 1 place a strand of hair individually…..wow that’s a tedious process…
For now, while they’re masks are being finished they both need to get acting lessons on how to act like one another….so they bring in a legendary acting teacher named Terry McGovern……yall might recognize him as the sandtrooper in Star Wars A New Hope who says “these aren’t the droids were looking for”……so Terry instructs Adam on how to act like Jamie…..he has to talk in a low voice showing very little to no emotion, have his hands in his pockets most of the time…
This shouldn’t be too hard for Adam since he most of the time in the show mimics Jamie to make fun of him…..but how well will he do when he has to professionally act like Jamie? And uh as for Jamie Hyneman Terry instructs him on how to act like Adam Savage….basically all he has to do is be a bit loose in his movements, put his hand over his mouth sometimes when thinking….be a little goofy and laugh…….yeah I can only say one thing from a fans perspective u can try as hard to mimic someone else but by the end of the day u may not sound 100% like the other person because ur voice is different to they’re voices….so something is always gonna be off…
So they’re masks come in and first up Jamie puts on his Adam mask, along with a black shirt and Adam’s pants…..and already something looking off, his head looks a little to wide….the issue is the latex mask was created on a default head stand so the mask will expand or not expand on someone’s face depending on they’re head shape….unfortunately for Jamie uhhh his head shape ain’t no were close to being like Adam’s so his head looks thick…..and for a final touch Adam puts a pair of his glasses on Jamie as Adam…then Adam starts laughing because he finds this funny, then Jamie tries mimicking Adam’s laugh, ok this is already becoming uncanny…
So now time for Adam….so there’s more steps to becoming Jamie besides the mask, first he needs to put on the Jamie Hyneman shoes he wears, the tan pants, the belt, the black shirt, the white lab coat, button it up expect for the last button at the top, tuck the bottom of the shirt into his pants, put the mask on, put a pair of Jamie’s glasses on then the final touches he puts shoulder pads under the shirt because his shoulder width isn’t the same as Jamie’s, then he puts on the beret…….”and then the transformation is complete”
And there’s something already off about Jamie’s mask his head looks a little too red, as If he got stung by a bee or had an allergic reaction……so then they both meet up and here’s how this little conversation goes
Adam (as Jamie): is that how I stand, all loose and everything?
Jamie (as Adam): no, I was told to be really fluid because your always moving.
Adam (as Jamie): laughs
Jamie (as Adam): the question here is, how far can we actually go towards fooling a mark? We can do thing like wear the clothes of the original person, we can act like the original person. (Ha!) Really loose.
Adam (as Jamie): laughing
Jamie (as Adam): we can even distract the mark. So all of those things cumulatively, may well have the effect of completing the illusion much better than any individual technique would by itself.
Adam (as Jamie): laughing, that’s perfect. U nailed it. Yeah that’s good (laughing)
Oh joy can’t wait to see how this myth goes…..so they set up a hallway with signs marking inches and a target across the room….so basically they are gonna have some fans of Mythbusters who know Adam and Jamie but don’t know them on a personal level come in…they will be asked to step closer and closer to each sign, aim a laser pen at the target…all while one of them fake sells stands off to the side giving orders and we will see how long it takes for each one of them to realize something isn’t right about them….
So first up it’s Jamie dressed as Adam, so the first person comes in…Jamie as Adam informs him what to do…..when the guy eventually gets closer Adam pops out from behind the curtains and asks when did u first realize something was off? Which the guy says as soon as u spoke…u didn’t sound correct…..well good to know
So now time for Adam to dress as Jamie…so the real Jamie goes behind the curtains to watch on the cameras, second fan comes in…same outcome as thr first guy….doesn’t say anything until he gets up close to them, and the real Jamie comes out and asks when did u start suspecting something was off? The guy says as soon as u talked….
Hm very interesting so 2 fans said the same thing…so it’s confirmed its the voice that’s a big giveaway….so now Adam and Jamie have a plan to try the whole tes again with other fans but this time they won’t talk this time they will stand still…the camera man will be giving the orders…
But first Adam is being Adam…him dressed as Jamie he decides to stick a pencil up his nose and starts twirling it up there then pulls it out, wipes it across the fake mustache and says awesome…….I also like the narrator…he says “but the team have not yet plumbed the depth of this myth, they’re picking the suspect variable and removing it”…..lolo I don’t think I need to point out what the narrator did there…
So they bring in the next volunteer this time Adam dressed as Jamie doesn’t speak…..and it wasn’t until the person got to like toe 20 meter mark she could tell something was off about Jamie…..she could tell it wasn’t him, we’ll st least this time it took them longer to realize something was off…..I like how she says bye to them….Jamie says thanks u then the woman shakes his hand and says thank u Jamie…and Adam as Jamie shakes her hand and she says thank u not Jamie…..lolo which he says ur very much welcome….
Then in Adam fashion as soon as the woman leaves, Adam as Jamie breaks into dancing….which if u thinking of it…..it’s weird because he’s dressed as Jamie and looks like him, so he’s basically making Jamie dance lolo….something Jamie wouldn’t do…..so now they’re gonna test it on Grant and Kari, 2 people who do know them…they plan to do something similar but this time one of them will be standing on a rotating platform behind a curtain, every time the curtain raises up a piece of the person’s clothing will change…they want to test how long it will take for Kari and Grant separately to notice when something is off…
Then Adam as Jamie shakes Jamie’s hand and to quote Jamie “that’s just weird” (laughs) yeah no kidding this is weird….try imaging urself shaking the hands of someone who’s disguised to look exactly like u…..it’s very weird…..
So they first bring in Kari first….they start the test on her, they have her move to each inch marker slowly….while she does not Jamie is standing on the rotating platform and the curtains go up….first thing they change on his outfit a bright orange belt….which Jamie would never wear, heck even Kari notices it….then he changes the beret to a red beret…..then she gets up close which she starts realizing something is wrong here…she can tell it ain’t Jamie she says it’s either a wax statue or he got stung by a bee….
So then the real Jamie comes out and the fake Jamie….she tells them that she thought that Jamie had like an allergic reaction and she didn’t want to say anything just to be Courteous….
Then they bring in Grant, he says he’s known Jami for about 12 years so he thinks he will be able to spot if something is off…..guess what? He doesn’t….he only notices the clothes start changing but he doesn’t notice who he’s looking at isn’t Jamie…he just assumes it’s Jamie, he makes it up to the last inch marker then the real Jamie, and fake Jamie comes out from the curtains and Grant is of course surprised…..he also feels bad because he knew Jamie for 12 years, but yet he couldn’t tell who he was looking at wasn’t Jamie……yeah now try explaining that to the real Jamie….
Hey Jamie I know that I’ve known you for 12 years and were close and all that…but I couldn’t for the life of me tell the person I was looking at wasn’t u….my bad lolo, so anyways the myth is plausible….under specific circumstances u can fool someone else that u r another person if ur dressed as them…..as long as u don’t talk ans mimic perfectly the other person’s attitude….so myth is plausible…..
So now let’s talk about the episode and specific myth when Jessi Combs was introduced….she was introduced in season 7 in an episode called Dumpster Diving…..
In this episode Adam and Jamie are testing a myth about is it possible to when escaping from a guy with a gun, can u jump down into a Dumpster if ur on top of a building, and can u land safely so u can run off to live to tell the tale…but today we won’t be talking about this myth….instead we’re gonna talk about the myth Grant, Tori, and Kari are doing, the myth they’re doing if ur 300 meters down under the ocean floor in an old deep dive suit and if u cut off the air pressure machine will u the person inside be sucked through the mask…basically shrinking u and ur insides, uhh ewww…
So they first have to test it at a small-scale model, so Kari makes a small-scale model of Grant, and they make a small scale suit….Grant makes a glass helmet which will be used as the scuba helmet….why glass u may ask? So they can see what happens, so they take the scale model to a deep pool at sea land, but first they locate some dolphins in a pool….awwwww dolphins are so cute…..and the dolphins are acting friendly with them…
So they head to the deep pool, Tori gets into a scuba suit to dive under with the small model that’s attached to the pressure valve….once they get to the level floor of the pool, both Grant and Kari pull the valve which guess what? The myth worked….ehhh unfortunately it worked, we see red ballistic jell being sucked up into the helmet and the rib cage of the doll shrinking….well I hope this teaches us a valuable lesson, don’t go diving in these old suits and if u do….don’t turn off the valve at all…..
So now they need to take this to a bigger scale and go to the actual ocean, but firstly Kari can’t join heck she has to leave because she’s been pregnant…she’s any time soon gonna give birth to a kid, so she tells them she hired a temporary replacement until she returns in a couple of episodes…..so they wish her luck and all a sudden Jessi pops up behind them, she was just sitting behind them in a chair back at the wear house…..she introduces herself to them, she tells them that Kari told her a bit about what they do….they tell her about this myth there doing and all that and her only response is sick….
So they get to work on making a replica of the deep sea suit while Tori takes a model skeleton into a freezer truck with slabs of pork and starts stitching them together on the skeleton….hmmm talk about Dr. Porkenstien over here……he tells the audience he’s not trying to scare them, but sorry if he is….but science isn’t always clean…..
So he stitches himself up a human, if u can call that a human…then he stitches on the face which Jeepers looks horrifying, the face has no eyes, just the outline of the eye cavities….teeth visible with no lips, yeah good job not creeping us out lolo….
So they head to the docks with their Porkenstiens monster….
Tori then opens the creature back open to dump organs into it……(gags) sorry I think I just vomited a little in my mouth….he then stitches it back up
They then put it in the deep sea suit they made….they then head out on a boat that has agreed to take them out to sea where they can put their fake human 300 meters down in the ocean….they place their creature In a cage to hold him up, they put the helmet on….when they get to the local they stop the boat and slowly lower him down into the water…all while keeping count of how many meters they are at….they put ocean cameras to follow the cage so they can see how deep things are….
Once they get to the 300 meters it’s not pitch black down there’s no light source whatsoever……so they pull the valve which guess what causes the rib cage to shrink and then the gruesome part, the organs and most of the body sucks up into the helmet so we see fake blood in the helmet and a little bit spill out of the helmet…..they jokingly say leave it down there don’t bring it back up……yeah no kidding don’t bring it back up leave it down there because who’s gonna clean this up…..
But they bring it up anyways and now the question is who’s gonna clean up that mess….Grant and Jessi say not me….yeah understandable, so yeah the myth Is confirmed….they were able to prove that u can and will get suckdd up into a deep sea diver suit all the way down at 300 meters on the sea floor and if u accidentally cut the oxygen valve then ur a goner……..so lesson here Is this don’t go diving in the ocean period….it’s an abyss that we barley fully understand yet or will ever understand….
Unfortunately, good things don’t last, during the later seasons the show lost a good amount of viewership….because Discovery kicked off Grant, Tori, and Kari….so the show just ended up focusing on Jamie and Adam…. which didn’t fully work out well, didn’t bring in the views….the company was gonna start paying both them less to continue but both Adam and Jamie said were not gonna continue for less, mainly because they both didn’t get along well with each other…so for a series final they brought back Grant, Tori, and Kari for an episode where all 5 them sit down and relieve fond memories
So to conclude my review on Mythbusters as a whole, I absolutely love this show…..this was my childhood, me my dad and my cousin and his dad would oftenly watch this show….I go back and watch this show just for nostalgia…..i just so happen to have all seasons on iTunes I’ve purchased all the seasons….yes I still use iTunes sue me lolo……anyways also this show plut Bill Nye The Science Guy got kids into wanting to do science…..including me, but as soon as I even did some science I realized most of science projects are boring….these shows really skim over how slow the processes are, how some science projects takes months to do….
Oh btw one more final thing this show always has explosions…..more often then not there myths always either end in explosions or involve explosives……in fact here’s a 1 and a half min montage of Mythbusters explosions enjoy….
KABOOOOOOM!!!
