The Exorcist: This is a re-upload because I got some things wrong but after re-watching the original Exorcist this time in theaters I now can tell more details so before we get started here’s the trailer

So this movie opens up with Father Merrin out in the Iraq desert at an archeological dig, where they’re digging for artifacts…..Merrin digs a small statue out of a hole, a statue he ends up breaking uh oh……anyways keep something in mind Merrin is very old and has an illness, so he has to take pills…..keep that in mind, anyways the final shot of him in Iraq is of him seeing a statue of this winged like demon standing on a medium hill also he sees 2 dogs fighting each other….dunn dunnn dunnn…

So the plot kicks in with our main mother named Chris MacNeil who is an actress, also she has a daughter named Regan, she also has a butler and a nanny-like character named Sharon……anyways one day Regan shows her mom an Ouiji Board in there basement, she shows her she’s been playing with it….been in contact with a ghost named Captain Howdy, yada yada all that…

One day aftar filming wraps up in front of s church MacNeil walks home where the Exorcist theme kicks in

Anyways there’s a priest named Father Karras who is losing faith in religion because his mother is ill and he isn’t around to take care of her as much unfortunately…….one day her brother brings her to the hospital because she fell down the stairs I believe so her son went to visit her….shortly after she passed away so now he’s lost his faith in his religion…..

Anyway Regan’s birthday is coming up but her mother’s divorced husband won’t answer the phone and say hi to Regan unfortunately……that same night she sleeps with her mom because and I quote her bed started shaking for some reason…..her mom thinks she’s lying btw keep that in mind……because her mom takes her to the doctors to get her checked because there’s something wrong with her daughter uh oh, no she doesn’t know what’s wrong…..neither do the doctors they do tests on her and all that such as X rays and all that…..during an exam she is laying on the table she she’s a flash of a pale face with blood red eyes…..ohhhhh scary

Also I forgot to mention one morning a priest enters there church to place some pots of flowers in front of 2 statues where they see one of the statues got defaced with clay pointy Titties and a pointy dick, and red paint…..hmmm wonder who put that there

Anyways after the tests show nothing the doctor just recommends specific medication because they believe she has some sort of split personality disorder…..they think that because she wss cussing up a storm during the exam which she never curses she never have before…..anyways they go home and things gets worse, during one night when she’s in bed, Regan’s bed starts levitating off the floor….so they take her back in for more exams 🤦

The mother tells them the bed levitated but they say the issue isn’t her bed it is Regan herself….wow that’s just so helpful huh lolo….anyways so back to Karras he’s fallen depressed due to his mother passing away in the hospital….so his friend Father Dyer comes and pays him a visit at his apartment to see if his friend is doing all right…..well as alright as he can be doing lolo….so back to Regan she’s also doing alright as she can possibly be at the moment…..oh wait nevermind no she isn’t, for u see one night her mother brings in guests for a party they are all drinking and all that enjoying themselves while Regan is fast asleep but she comes downstairs they notice her and she stands on the carpet saying yall gonna die up there then she start pissing on the floor…eww

Anyways she gets taken back to her room, while the made cleans up the urine…..uhh eww,

Another night she calls the doctors to come because it’s getting worse…they go into her room and see her slamming up and down up and down and she starts screaming in pain Mommy help meeeeeeeee…then her voice becomes demonic, her eyes become pale….she ends up attacking the doctor….who still think this is all psychological 🤦….

Anyways things get worse, for example another night one of MacNeil colleges come up to check on Regan he is found dead outside at the bottom of the outside alleyway stairs his neck was turned around 180 degrees, Jesus lord….but MacNeil doesn’t know that she just comes home but doesn’t even notice the sirens going off in the alleyway…then enters the house……then the lifhts start flickering then turn off but while it flickers we see a glimpse of the pale face again on the stove top this time….dunn dun

Then she enters her daughter’s room where before she opens the door we see a glimpse of the staues face….then she sees her daughter is asleep but the window is open she closes it…then she goes downstairs where she gets a knock on the door of one of her colleges he comes in tells her the other college died he was found dead outside in the alleyway stairs…..again Christ Lord

Then he leaves and as soon as he leaves we hear thumping noise which then she turns around to see Regan crab walking down the stairs with blood coming out her mouth…….aghhhhh, fun fact that scene is an extended version scene wasn’t in the theatrical version of the film when it came out in 1973…..there’s a fun fact for tonight

Anyways they hire a hypnosis to try to communicate with the other voice in her…as he tries to and asks Captain Howdy to speak to him….he ends up attacking the hypnosis doctor again they need an Exorcist, not a doctor…but luckily the doctors do recommend her to seek out an Exorcist which she says so what ur sending me to seek a which doctor? Lolo she ain’t wrong

So she takes Regan home, while that happens a detective named LT. Kinderman seeks out Karras, who is running around a track….he tells Karras u look alot like a boxer….and all that he then walks with him they both have a conversation he tells Father Karras about how the guy was found dead at the bottom of the stairs with his neck snapped around 180 degrees….which usually doesn’t happen unless someone else may have snapped his neck and pushed him out the window…..uhh ohh which is very suspicious…..but Karras doesn’t have the answers…

So LT. Kinderman goes and pays a visit to MacNeil When he enters her house where he interrupts her frustrated at her helpers because she found a cross under Regan’s bed…she assumes one of them put it there…..anyways she makes him some coffee……anyways they sit down have a conversation he tells her that he believes someone may have killed her college because his neck was snapped backwards, anyways he goes into the kitchen looks around sees some of Regan’s clay animal art…..MacNeil offers him more coffee he says yes plz…

After he drinks it up he leaves he says he will come back when Regan Is feeling better then MacNeil goes upstairs and checks on her daughter who she finds stabbing herself in the crotch with a cross then she forcefully puts her mother’s face down there uhh eww, then the demon closes the door tries pushing a bookshelf to her then the demon twists his head around and says u know what she did? Ur f**king daughter?….all while MacNeil is on the floor crying

So now she goes and seeks out Karras who comes up to her while she’s smoking in public….she walks with him and asks what do I do if someone I care about needs an exorcism? Which Karras says exorcism? Well first I’d have to get a time machine and take them to the past when that method was still being used because it isn’t used now these days…she asks him when did they stop? Which he says well uhh when the catholic church found out about mental illness such as split personalities and once there were such things as therapists….

Anyways she tells him her daughter is possessed and asks him to come take a look so he does, where he sees her tied up to a bed which has paddings all over the bed….Regan is wearing a blue nightgown and has scratch marks all over her face, has a tube up her nose….green vomit under her chin and she’s breathing heavily with a demonic growl….he asks her if is Regan there which the demon says she is with us….he asks her who is he? And he says I’m the devil…..then the devil says ur mother is here with us if u want I can leave her a message? Which Karras says if she is then u know her maiden name which the demon doesn’t say her name but does vomit bright green vomit onto his face Which gets slightly into his mouth, uhh eww..

Anyways this ain’t enough proof he needs to get more proof to approve an exorcism to happen but before he leaves he asks MacNeil did u know my mom passed away? Which she says yes I am so sorry and he says no I meant did Regan know about it? She says no why? Then he says uhhh nevermind it isn’t important bye…..lolo honestly if there’s one thing I can say that surprised me about this movie is that this film actually made me laugh there are comedic moments to this film….yeah ain’t that a surprise?

Anyways he reviews the tape recordings he took and gets confirmation from his friend Dyer that she’s indeed speaking English but it’s all backwards she’s speaking backwards….yeah I ain’t no expert but that’s usually not a thing 12-year-Olds are commonly knowledgeable with…to speak in backward conversations….yeah definitely strange indeed….

So after he continues to listen to the tape he decides to go back and get more recording…….he asks the demon when he’s planning on letting Regan go and it says when she rots……also he gets the demon to speak in a different language…..

Also later that night he’s called over to come to MacNeil’s house where her assistant Sharan takes him upstairs to show him something, she tells him not to tell MacNeil this and she takes him up to Regan where she pulls up Regan’s shirt and aims a flashlight at her stomach revealing the words help me, carved into Regan’s stomach….uhhhhh

So now he has enough evidence he takes this news up to the higher people in the church….they try to find him an Exorcist to help him out…so they go and contact Father Merrin, which they say wait a min isn’t he old and unwell? Also they mention that his last exorcism case nearly killed him….well funny I guess this case he’s about to take on will definitely kill him…

That night at Regan’s house during a foggy night a taxi pulls up and Merrin steps out of it standing there in the fog all we see is the outline of him wearing a fedora, and a trench coat and holding a bag, he then enters the house asks if Karras is there which he is….they hear the noises upstairs, Merrin sends Karras off to retrieve some holy water and other supplies they will need……so he comes back with the stuff, Father Merrin informs Karras that whatever he does don’t listen to the demon it will lie, don’t ask it any questions besides the ones that we already have planned to ask it…..

So they enter the room and start preforming the exorcism, while the demon starts saying bunch of things such as ur mother is a C**nt, and all that….it starts screeching when they toss holy water onto it, and it also starts sticking its demonic tongue out and wiggling it…..also the demon spits a bit of vomit onto Merrin’s glasses, uh eww which he doesn’t seem that phased by….he just takes the glasses off and wipes the vomit off him…..then they continue the exorcism, the lights start flashing we see a glimpse of that same pale face on Regan’s face…..eeeire

Then the possessed Regan starts levitating into the air and has pale eyes, all while both priests start repeatedly saying the power of Christ compiles u…..the power of Christ compiles u…..then they take a break for a moment out in the hallway……but then Merrin enters the restroom he says pardon me….then Karras goes into the bedroom where the demon starts talking to him in his mom’s voice, which upsets him he says ur, not my mom!…then Merrin comes in and sends Karras out of the room while he continues the exorcism….

So Karras is sitting downstairs and MacNeil comes in and asks him is she gonna die? Which he says no then he walks back into the upstairs room….where he sees Father Merrin slunched over dead…..uhh ohh, he tries reviving him but to no avail….the demon starts laughing so he grabs the demon and starts slapping her….telling the demon to take him instead so the demon possesses Father Karras then he sees a glimpse of his mother in the window, he then screams no then jumps out of the window…..he falls breaks his neck and dies….a group of people come to see what happened, so did his friend Dyer……also the detective shows up at the house where him and the mother run upstairs where they see Regan back to normal but crying in the corner….

Wow, the exorcism went well but at what cost? Both priests died….that’s sad, anyway so both Regan and her mom leave their house…. their nanny leaves them she can’t stay and work with them anymore…..anyways Father Dyer shows up, they say goodbye to him and Regan notices the priest neck piece around his neck so she assumes he’s the same priest who did the exorcism on her so she hugs him…..then they leave, as they’re driving away MacNeil calls Dyer over and says I found this necklace on the bedroom of the floor and its of Karras necklace he says u should have it…..then that’s how the film ends….

Honestly I really liked this movie…am I scared of it uhhhhh nope not at all, I don’t understand how this was scary…but I’ll give it a solid 8.8/10
