Star Wars Rebels: well firstly I wanna quickly mention something, I wasn’t a huge fan of this show when it came out…..because my main issue with this season is because in comparison to star wars the clone wars is this show feels to childish, safe, and didn’t want to be violent…..unlike clone wars which is a show for kids but takes risks, has violence, and doesn’t just aim to a child audience…..but I did decide to rewatch this show recently and I gotta admit I kinda like it……past the first season because the first season Is the one thats way to tame…….so I’m gonna give a run down of the highlights of this show
Season 1: as stated it’s a tame version of clone wars for smaller kids which is fine I guess but that ain’t my cup of tea exactly……our main characters are named
Hera
Sabine (An ex mandalorian)
Kanon (A jedi)
Jeb (Who’s design is based on the concept art for Chewbacca)
Chopper (their droid)
Ezra (The new Comer who they brought along after a heist mission he interfered in)
Anyways u can take a guess that the show doesn’t show anyone dismemberment or people getting shot……because can’t scare kids I guess….but the highlight of this season in my opinion is the grand inquisitor…….he is this pale alien, with sharp teeth and yellow eyes, he has red marks on the sides of his head…also he wields a duel bladed lightsaber that is a double bladed lightsaber that twirles around…oh nice, yes he is also in the kenobi series…..anyways at end of this season he gets killed off, which his final words are u have no idea what evil u have just released today……which he isn’t wrong because guess who comes to take his place to finish off the rebels? Lord Vader of course….uh oh
Season 2: so in this season we have Vader hunting down the rebels, also in this season Ezra discovers someone guess who it is? It’s Darth Maul…..yeah he’s still alive…..anyways he’s after a sith Holochron, but he needs Ezras help….also in this season we get introduced back to Ashoka and Captain Rex……keep Ashoka in mind for later…
Anyway about half way through this season they make it to the Holochron place and Vader shows up which Vader fights against Ashoka while maul and the others fight against the 2 new inquisitors….one of which is the 5th brother, yes he’s in kenobi show as well….anyways maul then afterwards decides to slice Kanons eyes to blind him because he wants Ezra to himself but then Kanon knocks Maul off thr cliff don’t worry this isn’t the last we see maul……also heres the fight scene between Vader and Ashoka
Anyways so we don’t know what happens to Ashoka since the building collapses and Vader escapes….she’s probably dead uh oh….
Season 3: Darth Maul is of course back and he is now after Obi-Wan kenobi…..shocker, but my favorite addition to this season is we get introduced to a star wars legends character named Thrawn…..he’s a blue skined humanoid alien, with red eyes, he also has dark blue combed hair……hes an imperial officer or Grand Admiral Thrawn as u will also he wears an all white imperial outfit…..God he’s my favorite addition to this show, kinda hence why I gave this show a second chance…..glad I did, anyways so now Thrawn is after our main characters…..if ur wondering does he die? Well no, he’s the villain all the way through season 4……..btw do yall know why Thrawn is considered the best within the empire? It’s because of how smart he is….think of him like Moriarty type smart…..he always cab predict the enemy’s attack patterns…..also he uses his knowledge of art on every planet he conquers….if ur wondering wait art? What is he an artist? Well kinda, for u see he reads into art to fully understand a planet and they’re culture which helps him understand the people on the planet especially if there his enemies….yep like I said smart
The 2 other highlights this season is Maul finally finds kenobi and they kinda fight? I say kinda because Obi-Wan is standing in front of a camp fire for 5 min while Maul is walking back and forth talking then they both pull there lightsabers out….do there stances for 1 min then swing there sabers for all of 6 seconds then Obi-Wan does the kill strike that kills Maul and he dies in his arms…..wow that’s very anticlimactic…..anyways his final words to Obi-Wan is the boy ur watching here….he is the chosen one he will bring balance, and there ends the Maul and Obi-Wan story arc……unfortunately….also the second thing to note about this season is that a previous imperial officer from the first 2 seasons named Agent Kallus decides to change sides and join the rebels……because hes come to realize that the rebels treat each other like a family while the empire gives 2 shites about a singular individual all theh care about is power and greed…..wow what a shocker the bad guys are bad guys…..who would have thunk
Season 4: so this unfortunately is the final season of star wars rebels, we’ve made it all the way to this…….so there are a few highlights this season….first highlight is Sabine returns to her home where she and the rest of the Mandalorians now live at…..unfortunately for them there being ruled by some Mandalorians who joined the empire and one of these Mandalorians is named Gar Saxon….he wants the rest of the Mandalorians to pledge there allegiance to the empire but they refuse to but they might not have a choice….until Sabine does convince her mom and the others to stand up against Gar Saxon, so she challenges him to a duel which btw he has the Dark Saber which has been the Mandalorians weapon to indicate who is in charge so she beats him and takes the Dark Saber for her own…..and she decides to stick around to help out the family for a while unfortunately
Also, Kanon dies in this season, yahhhhh this is when the show starts getting ballsy…….in a rescue mission to save his girlfriend, Hera, from an empire base……the gang tries to fly away in their ship to escape but unfortunately, an explosion breaks out due to tons of gun shooting so Kanan holds back the fire with the force while they get on board and he just decides to let the flames engulf him jeepers……
Oh also Ashoka finally comes back…..but Ezra had to go into the world between worlds to save her from when she was about to die by Vader…..so basically he time traveled to save her. And yes I do have an issue with time travel in star wars…..because that opens up a can of worms of returns and different alternate timeliness…..
So this season ends with the rebels attacking Thrawn…….of course, but Ezra is attacking Thrawn at the end until on his ship while his friends have already escaped off the ship….and wanting him to get off the ship because a giant space squid thing comes out of nowhere…..and grabs ahold of Thrawn, btw here’s that scene
As u can see Ezra decides to stay behind and allow the space squid to engulf both of them to make sure Thrawn doesn’t escape…..unfortunately though the ship vanishes along with Ezra and Thrawn……and the squid, never to be seen again maybe they got taken to the worlds in between worlds….anyways the season ends with Sabine moving on the others gone doing their own thing….Zeb takes Kallus to show him he didn’t get rid of all his kind…..and oh Ashoka is on a mission to go locate Ezra….the end…..also the reason I’m finally doing a review on this show is because in August there releasing the Ashoka live action show which will show the return of the rebels characters in live action, also Ashoka will still be going after Ezra yayy finally but the ting I’m most excited for is Grand Admiral Thrawn is returning……first time in live action yes finally….here’s the trailer btw
Well overall I did enjoy star wars rebels once it got past season 1…..so I’m gonna give this show a solid 8.6/10
