Peter Pan and Wendy: Let’s start off with a trailer shall we

So where do I begin with this? Well I’d like to talk about the controversy behind this film and why the controversy was completely stupid……thr controversy was about how the fact Peter Pan is now an Indian kid and Tinkerbell is black…..because oh how there they? Look I don’t get it either…..my opinion is this it doesn’t matter if what color the actor is, or what ethnicity they are…..what only matters is if they can perform the roles great or good or perfectly….so once again this whole controversy was stupid…..in my opinion the only issue I had before this film came out was the way Captain Hook looks like, let’s take a moment to talk about him….dear lord they butchered my boy Captain Hooks design…..we all know how he looks in the original, black long hair, red coat…hook on left hand, big red hat with a big long white feather…..but here he has long straight brown/grey hair, a dark blue coat then a red one at the end….has golden shoulder pads on his clothing, his hook is now on his right hand for some reason….and worse the hat it doesn’t look accurate…

Instead of it looking like Captain Hooks iconic hat it more looks like combatant hat…..to be more precise he in this film looks more like Barbosa from Pirates of the Caribbean 4……don’t worry I’ll show yall an image here

Anyways let’s get into the review shall we, God I can’t believe I said hashtag…..sighhh…..so I wanna quickly mention that I have issues with this film is it feels to small in scope and scale…..let me explain So in the original film right, Peter Pan comes and takes Wendy and her siblings away to Neverland, we get little small time of him trying to get them to fly, there’s music to them flying…..they get to Neverland we get introduced to Hook, we know why he has a beef with Pan it’s because he chopped his hand off and fed it to the crocodile whoo also now loves the taste of Hook and wants to eat him…also Pan and Wendy and the others head to land where they meet the lost boys who want Wendy to be there mother…..then the lost boys and some of Wendy’s siblings go on an adventure an adventure adventure were off on adventure, wherever we may go…..lolo then they get Kidnapped by natives, they want there princess tiger Lilly back …Hook Kidnapped her so Pan goes and rescues her which leads to a fight in skull Island, and a encounter of the alligator…..then Hook is back on his ship he hears Tinkerbell left Pan so he goes finds her asks her to reveal the lost boys so he goes kidnaps them leave a gift for Pan that has a bomb in it…thinking he killed Pan…

So he is about to execute Wendy and the others until Pan comes flying in and fights Hook….the fight ends with Hook falling into the ocean being chased by the crocodile and Peter takes them back home…..

yall wanna know what happens in this film? Well let me tell u….they get to Neverland and straight off the bat we get introduced to Hook….beres that clip

anyways he and his team try shooting Pan and the others out the sky, then hook kidnaps 2 of Wendy’s siblings…..then takes them to skull Island to execute them…also Wendy gets help from the lost boys who just randomly show up also tiger Lilly is here as well for some reason….they head to save the 2 kids, Pan is being cocky….also heres the scene of Wendy trying to stop Hook

Anyways the crocodile comes tries to eat Hook btw this is the only time we see the crocodile in this film….hope yall enjoyed that scene, so then Peter and the others escape, hide….then Hook shows up kills Pan but his shadow goes find help and locates tiger Lilly who heals him up….anyways Captain Hook takes the others on his ship where he’s planning to execute them but then they make Wendy walk the plank, and as she starts falling she thinks of a happy thought which I kid u not consists of Wendy graduating from an all woman’s school, learn and take to the skies in a airplane….then die alone with no kids…..uh huh, hows dying alone a happy thought? Then Wendy comes up flying where Hook says u have the boys magic and she says no this magic belongs to no boy…..sighhhhhh then Pan shows up and fights Hook also Tiger Lilly comes onto the ship for some reason…..while the others fight his men….btw this film gives an origin to how Hooks ship flies its because Tinkerbell used her pixie dust on it….ok then, the fight ends with Peter apologizing….which I’ll get to very soon and Hook falls into the ocean then Pan takes the kids and Wendy home including the lost boys unlike in the original the lost  old stay with Peter Pan…..

Do u see what I mean by short in scale and scope? Did any of that in comparison to the original either sound interesting or grandiose? And now can we get into the major issue with this film? They turned Peter Pan into a complete egotistical douchebag….kinda veering into villainy territory……yep u heard that right they turned our main character Peter Pan into the villain jeepers this is officially a new low for Disney…..let me explain So in this film he does come off egotistical, in fact when Hook kidnaps Wendy’s siblings and he goes saves them from being killed afterwards he says wasn’t that fun? Jeepers which Wendy slaps him yes plz thank the lord slap him again he deserves it….oh then he goes on to praise himself by saying I saved the day and Wendy said u only saved part of the day…..yeah Peter Pan has a giant ego in this film but don’t worry it gets worse….In fact what I’m about to mention next utterly pissed me off that I said Peter Pan ur a complete douchebag plz go die….

So if ur wondering what that oh-so-bad moment is? Well later on in this film Peter Pan explains to Wendy that Hook left Neverland but came back as a villain…….but turns out that thanks to Captain Hooks’ side of the story, Peter Pan took out a key important part of that story…….Hook badly wanted to go back home to see his mom so Peter Pan basically said oh oh u want ur mommy well I banish u…..so yes he banished Hook all because he wanted his mommy…then when Captain Hook returned to Neverland, Peter purposely cuts off Hooks hand and feeds it to the crocodile….ok it’s official, Peter Pan is just a douchebag…..congratulations Disney u have made Peter Pan into an unlikable prick…..SMH…..oh and if that’s not bad enough Peter Pan is a freaking tyrant in this film…..he forces the lost boys to not tell Wendy or her siblings what really happened between him and Hook, oh and the film hints to Peter Pan patronizes women in Neverland…..our heroes lady an gentleman, once was a beloved Disney character is now an egotistical sexist tyrant…..bravo Disney bravo

BTW this is a slight rant but this is what erks me, so Disney wanted to be diverse, and all that……but they decided to cut out 2 important messages from the original film that still is important to this day…. 1. The importance of growing up and not staying a kid forever and 2. The importance of being a mother……those 2 messages they cut out of this film, instead I guess the morals of this film is uhhhh hey kids if u don’t want to be a mother then uhhh more power to u, motherhood is overrated……..sighhh I mean yeah ok marriage, in general, in general is overrated in my opinion so is dating, but the way Disney just makes it sounds like it makes it seem that there saying hey children being a mom is a bad thing, be independent instead…..F**k ur parents they only just raised u and help u on the correct course in life…..gee wiz aren’t they pathetic? Sighhh congratulations Disney just congratulations……kill me

But on the bright side Tinkerbell isn’t a selfish prick like she was in the original…..but instead she’s very nice here, my only issue I have is she doesn’t utter one word until the end of this film where she says thank u for hearing me……oh whoopie one 4 lines of dialog SMH…….anyways I also wanna give this film one more complement well Jude Law does a great job as Captain Hook, his acting is always gonna be a banger…….because he’s a great actor……so overall ehhhhh just ehh it’s such a mix of the movie, it’s not a bad film trust me there’s worse in the Disney live-action era but it also isn’t the best either…..it felt kinda lifeless in a way, really the only actor who was trying to add levity to the film was Jude Law….but unfortunately the script he was given was horrid, he doesnt add any uniqueness or craziness to his character….better yet he doesnt give any charisma, however he does for 20 swconds near rhe end when he has Wendy walk the plank….so sure guess he had charisma for all of 20 seconds lolo…..so im gonna give this film a solid 3/10 it’s on Disney plus give it at least 1 chance even if it’s just once
