Star Trek Next Generation: So let’s get into the review shall we……I’m super excited to get into this one specifically

So in this show, we got a wave of new characters and a new ship….but it has a similar name it’s a new model of the USS Enterprise…..also we got a new wave of characters here are the names

Captain Jean-Luc Picard (played by Patrick Stewart)

Worf (who is a Klingon, that works along with Picard and under the star fleet command)

Deanna

Data (who is a robot, I wish I was kidding ok that but nope he is a robot with synthetic skin….he’s the Spock of the group, u know similar traits of not understanding jokes or being too literal)

Geordi La Forge (he is blind and has like some kinda futuristic looking glasses on him….it kinda looks like what Cyclops lenses look like in the xmen films)

William Riker (he has a beard……thats basically the only characteristics I remember about him)

So now that we got that out of the way before I get into my favorite episode out of this series I wanna get this out of the way I can’t say I am ad huge of a fan of this show as many people where….don’t get me wrong there are moments I absolutely do love, I also like the main characters interactions between each other…..plus in total I had a few episodes that I liked but 1 of which I really remember……idk i just couldn’t get behind the constant talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking and talking then maybe sometimes like a 5% chance there will be some fighting but that’s it…….I kinda prefer the original star trek because it was able to mix the fighting and the talking very well in my opinion….heck I found the conversations in that show to be slightly more interesting….now with that out of the way let’s get into the episode where gonna discuss about today

So firstly this specific episode is called Q who, in my opinion, this episode is creepy…..it has small elements to be a start to a horror short…..which I find unique for Star Trek….anyways so in this episode the crews long time enemy named Q comes aboard their ship Uninvited….so to give context to who Q is, well the crew hates him because he’s an enemy to them…..reason is because how do i put this he’s an immortal douchebag who can do anything and I mean anything with the snap of his fingers, he can summon things, alter things u name it he can do…and what does he decide to do with his powers? Easy toy with Richard Picard and his crew of course….because of course, u would…

Now I do wanna mention one of my favorite scenes relating to the crew and Q before I continue in this episode so in another episode Q gets his powers taken away by his leaders because they found him to be to childish, petty…..in other terms completely irresponsible with his powers so they turn him into a human so Q goes and seeks Picard’s help and what I mean by help is well to let him join there team….
Which of course Picard and his crew are hesitant about because they don’t trust him at all, now what I love about this episode is the end because at the end Q gets forgiven by the court and gets his immortality back plus his powers…..so he comes back onto the ship to try to thank Picard and his crew here’s the clip

Lolo I always crack up at this clip because Q comes teleporting in wearing a poncho with a mariachi band behind him…..he says he’s here to thank them which then he snaps his fingers and 2 cigars appear in both Picards and William’s mouth and I just love there expressions….Picard standing there with a stern look on his face and his hands on his hips with a cigar in his mouth which he yanks out then there’s William who pulls his out slowly and looks at it like what the F**k? Also Picard says Q stop…..which then Q says but i want to celebrate which then Picard says i dont!! Lolo i always crack up at that response, Honestly yall I do recommend u check out that Clip I just posted its funny better yet find the episode and watch it but anyways that’s My rundown and explanation of Q so with that out of the way let’s get back to the episode at hand

So in the Q who episode well as I said Q appears on their ship to ask Picard and his crew if he can join them….get this while they’re off duty at their bar on their ship, yeah this starship Enterprise has a bar, dang that is cool…..did Captain Kirks ship have a bar? Nope…..anyways also the bartender is played by Whoopi Goldberg of all people….anyways so Q asks them if he can join which Picard and his group keep saying no…but then Q says come on If I join ur group it will make it easier for u to take on enemies u would be more prepared which then Picard says I think we’re well prepared already….which Q says we will just have to see about that which he snaps his fingers which launches the USS Enterprise out of its path into get this the outer unknown regions of space uh oh there stranded…

Q says ur in unknown territory where any threats can be out here good luck then he leaves them….he wants to see how prepared Picard is……so anyways then the USS Enterprise encounters a giant cube like thing in the distance which comes into view, it looks like a giant cube of sorts…..so Picard goes to the deck to contact them, at first the ship doesn’t reply but then he tries again where he says this is Christopher- then btw this is where things get creepy….btw the next dialog I speak try imagining a voice that sounds robotic with no emotions what so ever

Borg: Christopher Pike of the USS Enterprise, u will lower ur shields and weapons and surrender ur ship to us, u and ur crew will prepare to be boarded on our vessel….if u do not cooperate we will destroy ur ship

Picard: u would exact an act of aggression against the federal command?

Borg: u will lower ur weapons and surrender ur ship, ur weapons are useless against us

Ohhhhhhhh, btw here’s a small sound clip of what the Borg sound like and how they talk, enjoy the nightmares

“We are the Borg, lower ur shields and surrender ur ship, we will add ur biological and technological distinctiveness to our own, ur culture will adapt to service us, resistance is futile”

Good grief that’s eerie…..so anyways a Borg comes onto the ship and how do I describe the Borg….well try imagining pale humans that don’t blink and just constantly stare, oh and are covered in black-colored cybernetics…..like all over them including there hands, yep nightmare fuel….I really don’t like robots they creep me out…..in fact if I wake up one day to find out we have humanoid-looking robots walking among us with synthetic skin, I will lock my doors and close my windows and curtains and never leave my house for the rest of my existence….anyways so the Borg puts a small chip coming out of his hand into the computers to gain information about the ship and crew….

BTW u wanna know how powerful the Borgs are? The team starts shooting lasers at it but a force field forms around the Borg….yeah turns out the Borgs can adapt to situations very quickly even without looking at someone doing something…..then the robot just steps back and teleports out……

Anyways so the crew takes a sit with Whoopi Goldberg to ask her about the Borg because she says she knows what they are….she tells them that the Borgs don’t reason with people at all, there barley qualified as humans….they dont reason they don’t show emotion heck they don’t shoe mercy…..she also says they attacked her home planet, killed (I say killed loosely because they well turned them into Borgs themselves) and she’s rhe only survivor of her race left….

So now with this information, Jean-Luc Picard sends William Riker, LA Forge, Data and Worf in board the Borg ship to investigate them……when they get onto the ship they witness what I can only describe as hell, u know how everything on the USS Enterprise seems comforting and cozy? Well not the Borgs ship no instead it looks all steampunk-like, industrial-like….tons of walkways, along fall to the runway where ships take off in and out of it…..pods everywhere on the walls, panels near the pods….yeah does any of this sound cozy? No more like nightmarish ….

Anyways so our team investigate the ship where they stumble apon a room where they see the Borgs are reproducing baby Borgs in pods…..ok that’s it get out of there this is when I’d run out of dodge because this would be to much for me…..so they get teleported back onto their ship and they Hyperdrive out of there……then they think they’re safe but they’re not, instead the Borgs ship starts perusing them through Hyperdrive….what how? So then the crew decides to shoot at the Borgs ship and they quickly find out that the ship apparently has regeneration abilities…….yeah the ship can heal, da-fuq?

So this means they’ve tried every possible way to get rid of the Borgs….but luckily Q comes in and says didn’t i tell u guys u were not prepared for anything? Then he says if u guys admit u where wrong and I was right I will help get u out of here….so hesitantly the crew, mainly Picard says he was wrong so then Q decide to snap his fingers which sends the USS Enterprise far away from the Borg out of danger and back into the region they know…..ok that was a hectic day heck it was a harrowing experience for them….they now know there’s unknown threats out there that they’re not even prepared for….yeah didn’t I warn yall this episode is creepy?

BTW I wanna quickly mentioned a small segment of another episode…I forget the name of the episode or which season it was but there’s a 2 part episode where the Borgs return where they kidnap Jean-Luc Picard….and assimilate him into a Borg, uh oh…..”Resistance if futile”…….so Jean-Luc Picard is now a Borg, but don’t worry because out team kidnaps him….takes him to there medical room where they Rey to reverse the damage to turn him back into human….which luckily our crew does turn him back into a human so there’s that…..do keep this in mind for the next review of star trek we will be discussing next

So overall I do have my ups and downs with this series but in my opinion, the arc that’s my favorite out of this series is the Borgs, they’re intimidating, scary, horrifying, and dangerous……I also do like some of the characters I also like the captain….so overall I’ll give this show a solid 9/10 do check it out I highly recommend it
