Star Trek Strange New Worlds

Star Trek Strange New Worlds

I want to start by stating that this by far has got to be the best modern star trek we’ve gotten…heck it’s one of the best star trek we’ve gotten in a while…..I loved this show all the way through, it was enjoyable, it felt like old star trek…..anyways here’s the trailers…enjoy

Warning āš ļø, massive spoilers ahead….yall been warned…

Guys and gals Idk how to state this but I loved this show….thank u company for hiring directors who are huge fans of star trek…that understand star trek……so this show takes place before the events of when Captain Kirk was the captain of the USS Enterprise…..and this show takes place in the timeline after that pilot episode of the original star trek series….the pilot episode introduced us to captain pike…who was the original captain…..if yall wondering why that was the pilot episode then rest of the series went to captain Kirk? Well because that pilot episode wasn’t fully well-received so they scrapped that and changed the captain to Kirk…which ended up being a great decision…..this show doesn’t have one singular plot…..which is very much in line with the classic Trek show……so I’ll give a slight rundown of the series as a whole

In this show Captian Pike has to come to terms with his future he got a glimpse of in star trek discovery…..his future/fate is that in the future he will get horrible burned by radiation flames and be permanently injured so bad that he will have to be confined in a futuristic looking wheel chair that covers his body up…..btw here’s the clip of him seeing his future

Yeah isn’t that haunting? Anyways so if ur wondering where in the timeline does his cameo in discovery and strange new worlds take place within the Star Trek world, well this is gonna sound kinda difficult but I’ll try to explain it as best I can….so if any of yall who grew up on star trek, do u remember the very first episode? Where instead of it being Captain Kirk it was Captain Pike? And Spoke and the gang? Well fun enough the original series was gonna revolve around Pike but since that first episode didn’t do so well they got rid of him and replaced him with Kirk which was a better idea if u ask me….anyways so his cameo in star trek discovery and star trek strange new worlds takes place shortly after his encounter on Talos IV…..

So in Star Trek Strange New Worlds, we get introduced to our main characters

Captain Pike

Spock

Christine Chapel (who existed in the original star trek show)

Hemmer (who’s a blind alien)

Melissa Navia

La’an Noonien-Singh (who’s unfortunately related to Khan Noonien-Singh)

Dr. M, Benga

Number one (who was introduced in the original star trek pilot episode)

Anyway so this review will be different I’m gonna instead point out the highlights of this season……

Highlights of this show: well for starters this has got to be one of the best modern-day Star Trek we’ve gotten in a long time, it feels exactly like the original Star Trek series which I like it does……plus this show did something clever, so remember in the original Star Trek series when captain Kirk fought against the Space aliens called the Gorns, a race of aliens that look like lizard people…..well in this series Captain Pike and his crew encounter the Gorns….btw we don’t see what they look like but they get chased throughout space by them….it’s an eerie episode, I like that since they did this it makes it feel like in the original series that when captain Kirk fights against the Gorns it is now a revenge quest against the USS Enterprise because they fought it last time….clever of u show to do that……

BTW this season ends weirdly, Captain Pike sees a different alternate future self if he never got burnt…..but there’s a catch, that future version is here to show Pike what happens if he changes his  fate to be not burnt and confined to a wheelchair….let me summit it up if he changes his fate, he stays as captain of the USS Enterprise, Kirk never becomes captain of the USS Enterprise……and instead of Pike getting injured its instead Spoke….where he will be badly injured to the point he loses a leg at the battle against the Romulans……yeah so this is why Pike can’t alter his future and must come to terms with that future of being confined in a wheelchair…..it’s a dark truth he has to come to terms with…

Overall I love this season I highly recommend it to anyone who’s a fan of Star Trek…..it’s on Paramount plus, I’ll give this show a solid 9/10
