Death Note Anime Show:

I wanna start off with showing y’all my 2 favorite soundtracks form this show, the entire soundtrack is amazing but these specific 2 stick out to me.

So I’ve been meaning to review this show but I’ve not gotten around to it till now I wanna start off with saying that this is the only second anime I’ve ever seen in my life….or first anime because I saw this first, and I will admit it….this show is very good……kinda, I’ll get to why I say kinda later…..so in this show a student named Light Yagami who during a school day just randomly finds a book called the Death Note that just came flying out of the sky……that’s strange, so later that day after Light gets our of class he goes and picks up the book and takes it home with him……anyways as soon as he gets home and starts studying the book…..the shinigami named Ryuk, who is this 7-foot tall demon who has white skin, a horrific grin on his face, pointy blueish black hair, black leather clothing, long fingers…..thats what he looks like, anyways he tells Light Yagami that he dropped the book down there on purpose because in the shinigami world, it’s so boring up there, there’s nothing much to do there except for each demon to put a wager on whoa gonna kill who and who wont…..

Also, shinigami can’t technically die…..but the only way to kill a shinigami is if a shinigami intervenes in any way that involves their death notes…..what I mean by that is take this for example, let’s say someone u know has the Death Note and that person has the power to have the shinigami to do whatever they ask…but u there friend asks the shinigami to go and put someone’s name in the book themselves to kill Said specific person, it will kill that person but it will also kill the shinigami…..so basically a shinigami can’t write a person’s name in their book unless it is them putting the person who found the death notes, name in the book once the person time is up….mean when they’re about to die……so now since light kinda understands the roles, I say kinda because there are tons of rules….

So knowing all this and that one day his name will be written in Ryuks personal Death Note….btw forgot to mention each Shinigami has 2 Death Notes, don’t ask idk why either….as I said it’s slightly confusing, so anyways he decides to eliminate criminals who either got off to easily or criminals that did so much heinous things that prison is too nice for the likes of them, which does get the attention of a detective named L…..where he challenges on live TV Kirra which is the name that’s given to Light Yagami btw…..and this begins my favorite part of the show, the rivalry between Light and L….both are intelligent sociopaths but L decided to use his intelligence for bringing down bad people while Light uses his intelligence for evil or as he calls it justice but we all know what he’s doing is evil…..no one ever deserves to have the power of judge jury and executioner in the palm of there hands, that’s toying with fate….

But things truly do begin to pick up once we the audience meet L, he’s this weird sociopath dude who has pale skin, black messy hair, dead vacant stare and wears grey shirt and jeans…..btw he wears no socks or shows…..if u think that’s the weird part of him no no heres the weird part, the way he sits, he sits with his legs hunched over like he’s in a squatting poison….also he eats nothing but sweets as in sugar, candy, ect…..also he has a butler who treats L like his son…and his name is Wahari…..also one more thing L doesnt use guns he thinks guns are problematic, he also doesnt raise his voice he always is calm and level headed..hes that kinda guy…..so anyways Lights dad who’s the sheriff along with his team of men who L specifically picked because he was untrustworthy about who he believes should be able to meet him or not….he had to determine which cop wasn’t either corrupt or not willing to stop Kirra no matter the consequences……so with that out of the way if yall are wondering does Light Yagami get to meet L? Why yes he does…..in fact L joins Lights school so he can get closer to Light because for u see L is suspicious of Light he believes that Light is Kirra, yeah don’t ask me why straight away he already believes he is Kirra….not that he’s wrong but u know that’s a really weird Assumption to make….

If yall think that’s all the characters in this show? Nope we get introduced to a female character named Misa Amane, she too has a death note…..her shinigami that follows her around is named Rem…..Rem has grown an attachment to Misa she truly cares for her well-being and care…..btw Misa Amane is a pop singer I think……so she of course falls in love with Light heck she tracks him down…..how wonderful, if ur wondering how well for u see Rem gave her shinigami eyes which allows the person who has the Death Note to be able to see and tell is someone else has another Death Note as well as how long everyone has till they die…but there’s a catch if u make this deal and have the Shinigami eyes they have to cut half ur life spam short like let’s say if u had 80 years left to live u will now only have 40 years…..yeah does that sound like a fair trade at all?

So Light agrees…..I say agrees very loosely because this guy is a complete douchebag, to team up with Misa…..btw Light is an unbearable person to follow in this show….he’s the main character and u r rooting for him to die, mainly because he’s not likable, he’s manipulative towards Misa, he’s just a Dick who has to much power……it makes u wonder if his parents raised him well? Hard to tell…..but u would think they would have I mean from what we see, Lights sister is so kind towards him, heck he helps her out on her homework also his mom is very generous so is the dad when he is home…..because he’s always busy……lets skip abit so this show is kinda long its 37 episodes total, jeepers……but nowhere as long as Power Rangers was but still, but what was I gonna say? Oh right so Light ends up joining the Kira case to help hunt him down so L will stop thinking he is Kirra and stop suspecting him…..but that does very little to making him not think it’s still him…

So if yall are thinking so far jeez this show sounds interesting so far….well ur not wrong but to me just to me this show doesn’t stay great all the way through, let me explain

So roughly about ehh 14 episodes into the season Light Yagami asks Rem if she can kill L for him….dun dun dunnn…..btw I despise Light, he just manipulates the situation….he says to Rem “if u do this I’ll be in ur debt plus me and Misa will be happy forever together “….barf go die in a corner light……btw she just stands there silently while Misa says plz do it all I want is for Light to be happy…..jeepers girl calm down there’s better men out there, what do u see in Light? The guys a complete douchebag and sociopath……so anyways Light says sighhh alright fine as him he thinks Rem is gonna say no but then Rem says this

“Fine, as u wish Ligh Yagami, but I do not like u….this will not kill me even if it extends ur life, I will kill L for u….it doesn’t matter he’s just another human anyways”

And this is where the show started to spiral downwards because really the only character I liked in this show was L……btw if ur wondering does she kill him off yet? Luckily no, takes a few episodes before she does so….but when she does…..she kills Watari off first by giving him a heart attack ohh no then she does the same to L which causes him to fall on the ground and die in Lights hands…..then Rem dies, now this is when the show stopped being good this is when I stopped giving any shites about this show….I was like ohhhh ok so now my favorite characters are dead, so that means where now gonna have to focus around Light…..ohhh nooo….btw Light has way to much of a God complex…..i mean right away after L dies we see Light walking away and keep in mind he’s walking alone in the building at night through a hallway….whiles it’s pouring rain and Thunder outside….anyways while he’s walking he says to himself

“I’ve gotten rid of anyone who was in my way, I’m the God of this new world!”……I’ll say this though this scene is shor gorgeously we see lightning striking down behind him outside very ominously……sighhh yeah I don’t care for the rest of this season because shortly after like few episodes later Lights dad also bites the can as well…..but not before he makes a deal with Ryuk for the shinigami eyes, which he determines Light isn’t Kirra….don’t ask me how because idk how he did so when u can’t see someone else’s life spam if that other person as well has a death note, but he’s dad is able to see Lights life spam over Lights head so he determines yep lights not Kirra then he dies…..and now officially I just stopped caring but out of obligation I continued….if yall are wondering what does the show give us? Well they bring in a new L named Nate, who’s basically just L….has all the same quirks as L did same look except with white hair this time, seriously why did they get rid of L? If they where just gonna give us a blatant clone of him?

Anyway so to no ones shocker, of course Nate finally brings light to justice by revealing himself to the cops….if ur wondering how he does that? Well lights plan was to mind control someone to take the book and use it to kill the new L, but Nate was already ahead of that he knew about this plan so he had his men make a identical copy of the book, leave the copy for Light….see where this is going? And when Light and the guy and Nate and the investigation group is in all one room in a electrical room, he streams out to the guy to write Nates name in the book…finally revealing to everyone that Light is Kirra, ok that was actually clever….idk why L never considered doing this……

Anyways so one of the cops decides shooting Light because hes takes out a page and about to write there names into it…..so now he’s bleeding out on the floor, but then he gets up and runs away but Nate just sits there because he knows Light is gonna die there’s no point in chasing him but the cops say sorry but no we are gonna go chase him…..so anyways they chase him but they never catch up to him he runs into another abandoned building where he lays down on the steps while Ryuk writes Lights name in his Book and Light dies…..thats how this series ends, it ends on a bitter sweet note….also I cannot tell but I think the end credits hints at Misa Amane might have gone to commit suicide because we see her in this episode looking kinda vacant and she goes in the end credits to stand on the edge of the top of a building….huh wonder if that means anything, overall I’m mixed on this show I absolutely loved it for about half of the show but then I hated the rest….like as soon as L died I lost any form of interest in this series but I still recommend it…..it’s also on Netflix, I’m gonna give this show a solid 7/10
