So this took me a while to want to even make a review on this film…because i needed some time to think about how I felt about this film…let’s just say I felt conflicted when I first saw it…now i just hate this film….and here’s why…warning ⚠️,  spoiler review….(but honestly who cares its not like everyone is going to spend $30 on a streaming service for this film) but if u don’t want this to be spoiled…then don’t read this…but if u do so u don’t need to spend $30..then stick around……..Well the best way I can describe this film is by doing comparisons between both films…anyways here’s a trailer whatever

So in the original Mulan the way it starts is at night time and the Huns and there leader Shan Yu climbs the great wall of China and well attacks…now in the remake…the beginning starts off with showing Mulan as a child and we find out she has a power called chi…and it makes her powerful….she’s able climb up on top of roofs and do  Parkour type stuff and somehow able to jump off a top roof without getting hurt…🤦‍♂️…anyway then we get introduced to our main villians….this time there called the Rourans, and the leader name is Bori Khan…🤣🤣🤣…sorry no offense but I can’t take those names seriously…the Rourans…..sounds like morons…bur u might as well call them morons..especially when I describe what they do in a certain scene…..anyway when we first see them….we see the shape shifting witch…absorbing into a citizen and and that  Possessed person heads into a city…and then the Rourans start riding towards the city then they jump off their horses and run up the side of the wall…oh yeah so realistic…and don’t forget that Disney said they made this movie realistic….and oh yeah this whole scene happened in broad daylight….so its less intense in my opinion. And then we get introduce to Mulan family…in the original…her family was her mother and father and aunt…now in this new film she has no aunt …she is replaced with a sister…and her only characteristics is she is afraid of spiders….take that as u will…also i have a challenge out there….count the amount of times they say the word chi, in this film….trust me it will hurt ur brain just like mine……oh and Mulan in this movie is the chosen one…essentially…so Disney took there best feminist hero and turned her into a Mary Sue….of course why the heck not ( for those who don’t know what a Mary Sue is…its a woman that has no conflict and is powerful and overall just a perfect character)….and thats what mulan is like in this film….her conflict in the original film was…trying to keep her identity a secret and trying to bring honor to her family….now the conflict in this film for her is of course bringing honor but its mainly….hm maybe I shouldn’t hide mt chi because if I do it weakens it….hmmmmm…..also the moral of the story i got from the original was even any woman can do and be whatever they want…now the morals i got from this Mulan is….hey if ur a female and ur already perfect and have superpowers…don’t let men hold u back, otherwise it will make ur superpowers weaker….🤦‍♂️……that’s what I got from this film…. Jesus lord…..oh and the matchmaker scene is in this film…and its dumb…this time Mulan has her sister and mother in the same room….and this time instead of a cricket….now its a spider 🕷…..and mulan puts a pot over the spider to protect her sister..but the matchmaker made her love the pot back in the spot it was in….and the CGI spider jumps in the air the matchmaker screams and falls over and knocks the table over and then mulan gets on the table and catches the cups and the the teapot on her feet and the tip of chopsticks she was holding…yeah don’t worry its dumber then the way I’m describing it…and somehow that brings disgrace to her family…the matchmaker said u failed at raising a good daughter…and I’m just sitting there baffled saying how…she tried to save the cups from falling..and its the matchmaker fault the cups and teapot flew in the air….right I’m not even halfway describing this film and as u can see I went on a long rant…..for just the first 15 min…..anyway…remember that scene where its night time and its pouring rain and she leaves in the middle of night and she puts on her father armor and takes his sword and cuts her hair…guess what thats cut out of this film…see what I did there…they cut out that scene…🤦‍♂️….and just has her pointing his sword then it cuts to her already having the armor on then she just leaves…and the next day her family finds out she left….NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT LIKE IN THE ORIGINAL!!….but during the morning in broad daylight…..thats when they found out she left….sigh…anyway there no Shane in this movie because Disney was afraid of the idea of mulan dating her superior…or lieutenant….oh and this film has no singing or music and or mushu….or comedy…..to go for realism…sure…nothing says realistic then a shape shifting witch and defining gravity and a phoenix and superpowers….so she gets to the camp …and well training happens….and guess what they cut out the make a man out of u music montage scene….sigh…and instead of the pole they climb on top of…in this film they walk up a mountain while holding 2 buckets of water on each side of the arm….and no she doesn’t  Strategize on how to climb up the Pole with those 2 heavyweights like in the original…in this film she just walks up the mountain…no strategy or anything…she just does it because she perfect…🤦‍♂️….also this film is pg-13…but the violence doesn’t feel pg-13 worthy…..no blood and then there’s scenes where bad guys and good guys get knocked out instead of being killed….IN A WAR MOVIE!…anyway so the avalanche scene is in this movie..but instead…the battle is on green fields thats underneath the snowy mountains…..so mulan starts chasing down Bori Khan and his men that start ridding away…that’s right Bori Khan and some of his men leave the battle….anyway mulan bumps into the witch…speaking of the witch….she is way to similar to Darth vader, she is basically a Chinese female Darth vader….her lines are to similar.  ..at one point she said to Mulan..join me and together well be powerful…hm sounds familiar….oh wait a min….join me and together well rule the galaxy………and then near the end of the film the witch redeems herself and helps mulan by leading her to Bori Khan and he shoots an arrow toward mulan and the witch turns into a hawk and Flys towards mulan and gets shot and then dies in mulans arms….😑….Disney!, what are u doing this isn’t star wars…this is Mulan….so mulan gets a ninja star tossed towards her from the witch, and it doesn’t even harm her or anything she just sits up and pulls it out like its nothing.  And yet everyone else who had a ninja star tossed at them it killed them…..😑🤦‍♂️…..of course…because nothing can harm her…pfffff….anyways she rides back to battle and she decides to take off her armor…..WHAT!!….thats the most dumbest thing I’ve heard…taking ur armor off during battle…makes about as much sense as a person not wearing riot gear…at a riot…..but fine whatever sure of course she’s invincible at this point…..anyway she goes out into battle and using her chi…she’s now able to kick spears our of the air and kick it into people’s chests….and able to dodge swords and spears almost hitting her…..so then the soldiers bundle up together and hold their shields 🛡 out to protect them because the morons start tossing fire 🔥 ball rocks towards them and on impact to the people…it causes an explosion….sigh…what…ok that’s it officially physics have been tossed out the window…….so mulan plans to take helmets and put them behind the morons and put the on rocks and then start shooting arrows towards them to make it look like there men shooting at the morons….and yes she was able to do all of this while the morons were refilling there catapult….how u may ask…because the script says so….so hehehehehe…hear this out….they turned the catapult around  and shoot it at the so call soldiers….but yet they cartoonsihly missed…they shoot the fire rock at the mountain instead of it hitting the so call men….🤣🤣🤣🤣…wow this really makes the villains look really competent…congrats film….so the avalanche kills majority of the morons….and mulan gets discovered just because she had her disguise off…and she gets banished…the witch finds her tells her Bori Khan and his men are going to go kill The emperor but of course after kidnapping him….so mulan .. no less then 3 min go back to the soldiers to tell then after they told her if she shows her face to them…they will kill her…and guess what she tells the Sargent and he doesn’t believe her but then his men believe her and then he changes his mind and says ok ur going to lead my men into battle….wow ok that was a total 180 degree turn on his decision….anyways!!….she goes to the city with the soldiers….after the emperor decided to dress up for combat to face against Boring Khan…of course he gets led into a trap and Boring Khan kidnaps him..so mulan goes find the emperor…fins the witch in the emperor room…the witch leads mulan to …i already said earlier what happens…the witch sacrifices herself…anyway she battle Boring Khan like under 3 min….she battle him on planks…and well they both jump onto a log thats hanging from the air….over some lava and the floor…..yeah ok whatever…because Boring Khan wants to burn the emperor….so yeah blah blah blah…mulan kicks his sword out of his hand and cuts the rope and he falls on the ground and she started untying the emperors hands…and Boring Khan wakes up and shot a arrow towards the emperor….but the emperor grabs the arrow and then tosses it to mulan so she can kick it towards Boring Khan and she does that and it hits him in the chest….blah blah…woo-hoo…😑….and then the emperor awards mulan with offering her a place by his side she declined it to go home and then the emperors men come to mulans town to give her a new sword and to give her the offer again….THE END…..yaaayyyy finally…good riddance….now my rating on this film….2/10….not worth 30 dollars…but who knows u guys might like this film it’s hard to say I mean my parents enjoyed it

BTW this entire situation gets worse get this shortly after the film came out there was an incident in China where police were beating up citizens and the actress who played Mulan in this film said I support the cops for beating up civilians…..uh huh and this is the woman yall at Disney hired to make kids look up to? Get the hell out of here…..oh if that wasn’t bad enough let’s just also bring up the fact they film parts of this film in concentration camps in China and no they didn’t care nor mind that there were concentration camps…..f**k me that’s just disturbing and disgusting, seriously this film was doomed from the start, I don’t know what any of yall at Disney where thinking when it came to this…..yall should be ashamed
