Halloween Kills

well the title says it all….this film does kill….now u can take that as a good thing or bad thing….in my opinion it is no where as good as the 2018 Halloween film….this is just a prime example of Hollywood making pointless sequels….the 2018 Halloween should have been a 1 off thing….oh don’t worry we’ll get into the info about next year’s Halloween as well…and trust me I am iffy about it …here’s the trailers

Honestly I love this beginning, talk about capturing the 70s in a bottle perfectly….down to the point they used the same grainy cinematography and cameras used back then, same ambiance noises from the original film….nailed the recreation of the locations, nailed the original Michael Myers mask…..gotta give props to how they did doctor Loomis…They got the original makeup artist to put makeup on him, to make Jim resemble the late Donald Pleasence….here’s a side by side image of both of them, yeah from up close u can tell the difference but dang they did there beat at least they didn’t CGI him in like alot of Hollywood movies doing these days

So where do I even begin with this well I think let’s start with telling the plot of this film…..so the plot of this film is Laurie and her daughter Karen also her granddaughter Allyson get away from the burning house they set on fire and left Michel Myers behind in to burn alive, unfortunately for them fireman start driving up to the house to distinguish the flames….which leads to Michel Myers escaping and killing the entire firemen team that is there distinguishing the flames in very gory brutal fashion oh boy talk about carnage unhinged….anyways so while this happening they drive to a hospital where Laurie strode will now be there for majority of the film so in other words she barley has any screen time at all…..also while this is happening we get introduced to 2 characters who where in the very first film…..Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace….these 2 characters where the 2 kids Laurie strode baby sat all those years ago in the first film…now there back as adults oh and the cop from the first movie who helped doctor Loomis locate Michel Myers is back….anyways they round up a mob group to go kill Michael Myers, side note we get a stupid chant in this film….evil dies Tonight evil dies Tonight….yeah that ain’t catching on sorry to tell u film…..there’s that’s the plot….now before I get into my negatives let me tell u my positives 

Positives: well it feels like a Halloween Micheal Myers film….thats the biggest compliment I can give it that’s for sure…..visually this film is stunning…so is the cinematography, the affects and gore look practical and real…oh and if anyone comes into this fim wanting a violent gore fest then u will get that with this film…..the first 15 min capture the entire feeling of the original Halloween film….how they did this was by using the same camera that was used to film the original film, also the wwy they recreated doctor Loomis was great….since the actor who originally played him died, so they brought in another actor who sounds like him…put makeup and detaisl on him to make him look like Loomis, then dressed him up in Loomis clothing he wore in the original……now onto the negatives

Negatives: oh boy where do I begin because everything else from now on just went down hill, I’ll try to summarize up the issues….well let’s see everyone in this film is so moronic to the point I was half expecting them to bump into walls like a bunch of blind lemmings…yeah that dumb….to the point I just was getting tired of them and realizing yeah no I have no one to follow in this film, heck at one point I said ok im done everyone here is stupid…..Micheal Myers plz come on screen and kill everyone here that’s the only joy from them I will get…..but hey u know…..other issue is Laurie is completely side lined …thats a major issue because for this film series u kinda need Laurie strode because she’s the counterbalance to Micheal Myers…but without her, the film just feels so lop sided…especially when the film tries to make u root for a bunch of dumbs dumbs….sorry I ain’t gonna do that…then my final issue is well there’s one scene where there’s a mob mentality scene where they mistaken a old short dude as Micheal Myers and try chasing him up a hospital all the way to the top…where he decides to jump off from to his death….my reaction was uhh seriously? U guys thought that was Micheal Myers? That scrawny old man? How?…I get it mob mentality makes people not think at all but hey it just ads to the these guys are stupid thing….heck there’s a scene that has a very absurd kill scene in fact it was so absurd the entire theater including I broke out into laughter, there’s this one scene where Micheal Myers is sitting in a parked car after he killed someone in it and this woman comes up to him trying to shoot him and keeps missing and she comes up to close to him and he kicks the door right open. The door hits the gun which somehow led it into flipping the gun backwards towards her then she accidentally shoots herself…..….talk about the most bizzare death in horror history……then the other issue I have with this film is that well Laurie strode gets side lined so much in this film to the point she may as well not even be in this film…..look I can tell what this film is referencing by having her be in a hospital it’s referencing the original second film where she ends up in a hospital but there at least she had way more screen time and was the focus of the film…here she’s a secondary character…I do like how this new trilogy takes elements from some of the previous Halloween films…thats actually a good little nod to those films….before i continue with issues i have i want to mention that here we finally find out why Micheal Myers is shasing Laurie strode…..officer Hawkins says no he isnt after u, the only reason he attacked u this night is because that doctor dude drove him to u…..so Micheal Myers was never after Laurie duely noted, and this is where the film made me role my eyes, Hawkins said he was there that night when Loomis had the chance to shoot Micheal Myers in the head but i decided to stop him because what i saw from Michel was a lost kid who doesn’t have parents anymore….but I’ve learned now he needs to die……sigh yeah no shite he needs to die…further more why would u stop Loomis from shooting Micheal Myers in the head when he had the chance.. …sigh…..officer stupid over here am i right……anyways final issue is this film has u follow the entire town for this film and there just complete and utter idiots…to the point I said to myself Jesus ok im done….Micheal Myers plz come on screen and kill them all, if ur wondering how dumb they are let me give u an example so theres a scene where 2 gay men who brought and moved into Micheal Myers home (which is stupid btw) get attacked by Micheal Myers in his own home and one of them says i got this and takes a chesse cutting knife to fend himself  sighh…..and they split up which does lead into the boyfriend dying which then his boyfriend comes in and this is where i say everyone is srupid….hes standing 40 meters away from Micheal Myers the door is wide open in that room hes standing right near the door ans Micheal Myers is distracted with killing the other dude, now u would think best thing to do is run out and escape and go get help…but nah instead he says Micheal?….and Micheal turns around and starts walking towards him and he just stands there and screams ahhhhhhh…….this is stupid this is where i said u guys have this coming u people are just stupid in this film….oh and final example of the people being stupid well multiple times Tommy Doyle keeps telling people where stronger in numbers….then a scene after that he says ok now where gonna split up…..wha? What? Is this a freaking Scooby-Doo episode? Thats just nooo!!….oh and I do have a small minor nit pick the beginning of this film was jumbled up. .u would think right away it would pick up from the ending of Halloween 2018?…yeah I wish…instead the beginning for the first 10ish min we get a back story back flash to a young officer Hawkins who was apparently there that night to arrest Micheal Myers after he killed those teens that night in Haden field in 1980…..that back flash scene didn’t need to be a full 10 min could been cut down, but then u would think huh so then after the opening theme do we pick up where Laurie is ..no because then we have about another 6ish min reintroducing us to Tommy Doyle and Lindsey Wallace who are at a bar drinking with other people……can I just say the way they reintroduce them felt kinda weird…..Tommy Doyle gets on stage and greets some specific people such as Lindsey Wallace and he literally aims a spotlight onto her ans begins to talk in a way that’s not normal but more like a way to thr audience so they know who she is..he says something like, over there is Lindsey Wallace she was one of the girls Laurie strode baby sat that night all those years ago before Micheal Myers came and tried to kill them…..like I said straight to the audience at that point…oh and each time he put spotlight in each specific character a back flash to thr first film starts playing just to show us which characters is who….then then after that about uhh 16 to 17 min into thr film is where we get to see Laurie strode and her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson still driving away in the back of a truck to the hospital….17 min in……sigh ok then I did say it is a minor complaint but it’s just I’ve never been a fan where openings have been so long before it gets to showing where the story either picks up or is starting at…..

There that’s my positives and negatives from the film….now I do warn  u guys from here on out the rest of this review is gonna be a massive spoiler to the end of the film so if u want to walk away now u can but if u sticked around this long and wanna find out how this film ends then plz stick around…

So the way this film ends……so Allyson and her ex boyfriend who she broke up with in Halloween 2018, both go search for Micheal Myers alone and they get ambushed by him which ends up in the death of her ex boyfriend….yikes…..then all a sudden Karen shows up and rips Micheal Myers mask off ans tells him u want it come and and get it and she runs out into the middle of thr street where he follows her…..then headlights on cars start to turn on and this is where Micheal Myers gets surround by a lynch mob, there holding bricks and bats and pipes…..then Sheriff Brackett aims a gun at Micheal and says everyone is entitled to one trick a year….or something like that ….oh and forget to mention another guy is holding a shotgun….anyways they start bashing him across the head with there bricks and baseball bats and the cop dude shoots Micheal Myers in the chest multiple times with a shotgun…..for then all a sudden Micheal Myers to get up put his mask on then go ahead and slaughter these 20 people all by himself and walk off those injuries as if they where a flesh wound…..yeah sure ok I guess Micheal Myers can absorb bullets and head trauma as if he’s a sponge……anyways then he finally kills Tommy Doyle and the cop dude…..congratulations producers u brought back legacy characters to make them dumb and canon fodder…..jeez wow….. here’s soundtrack that played over this scene…

So then after we get a narration from Laurie telling officer Hawkins that Micheal needs to die and that evil doesn’t die and all that something like that…whatever that means…lol….then we see Allyson and Karen sitting outside of Micheal Myers house while the cops and ambulance are there……then we get a very stupid ending…so Karen walks up into the second floor of Micheal Myers house and stares out thr window then Micheal Myers shows up behind and her ans stabs her multiple times, then she bleeds out to death and that’s our ending…..yeahhh firstly why would u even go into his house by urself and stare away from the wall or door where anyone can just come up behind u? Secondly there’s an extended version of the film where the ending is different in that version Laurie strode gets a call and she hears Karen’s scream on the end and Micheal Myers breathing…..and the extended version ends with Laurie walking down the hallways of the hospital holding a knife as if she’s gonna go kill Micheal Myers….but ill explain in my Halloween ends review why that doesn’t come to be…anyways so that’s my review on this film overall a very mediocre film, not the worst no not at all in fact where about to get to my opinion the worst Halloween film…..trust me ur about to be in for a ride…but yeah overall not bad film just has baffling decisions overall if u ask me….now originally when I saw this film I considered giving this film a 2/10 but now after watching the recent installment Halloween ends…that film has now given me a new fond respect for Halloween kills because….well I’ll explain why in that review…but my point is I think I’m gonna bump my review up for this film to a 4.8/10 like I said not the worst Halloween film…but there u guys go that’s my opinion I hope u guys enjoyed this review….plz let me know ur guys opinion on this film if u saw it…..Did u like it or not?
