Halloween Ends

Before I officially ramble off at all because I’m about to and we’d be here for a while, but first I want to five a warning …wanting this review is filled with spoilers if u want to stay well then stay but if u don’t and haven’t seen the film then don’t…anyways here’s the trailers

Oh boy guys where do I start with this…this film is a huge mess in fact I’m gonna say it this film Is a let down…but I don’t want to get to far ahead…. let me tell u the plot….

So the plot of this film is, it’s been 4 years since the events of Halloween night in 2018 and Micheal Myers hasn’t been seen in these 4 years….during this a new character named Corry Cunningham is babysitting a kid, who he accidentally murders by opening a door and not realizing the boy was on the other side which ends in the boy falling off the railing to his death…so he gets blamed for the kids death and everyone in Haden field turns on him, until Allyson bumps into him and she falls in love with him, then become a couple in the spam of like 1 day…oh if ur wondering what Laurie is doing well she brought a new house in Haden field (idk why her ans Allyson just don’t move out of Haden field but still), oh and Micheal Myers house been torn down…finally, but then Corry Cunningham accidentally stumbles into Micheal Myers in the sewers and when he emerges from the sewers he returns differently (him being Corry), he is now a murderer…..….his first victim is a cop he lures into the sewers and asks Micheal Myers to show him how he kills people which Micheal Myers obliges technically for some reason….so then they both team up and go kill a woman in her house and yes this scene was dumb, it felt like a warped buddy cop episode…..later after Corry tackles Micheal steals his mask and wears it goes around murdering his bullies who bullied him….he goes and tries to kill Laurie and he slits his own throat to make it looks like Laurie killed him because he’s nuts…the real Micheal shows up and a final fight happens between Micheal and Laurie and it lasts all of 4 min before she kills him easily and the film has a 3 min resolution….yeah wait what’s that? Who’s this Corry character? Where’s Micheal Myers in this film? Ans where Laurie?…well for u see Micheal Myers gets all of 6 min of screen time in this 1 hour and 50 min film and Laurie once again gets side lined because why not….and this is supposed to be the final end to the 40 year saga between Micheal and Laurie….ohhhhh ok remember when I said this was a mess yeah no kidding….lets talk about the issues…..both meaning issues with behind the making of this film and issues with the plot of this film

The first major issue is the producers blame covid-19 for the script being different, the original idea was to have this film take place on Halloween 2018 night as the other 2 are bur thanks to covid-19 they changed this script around to havw a 4 year time skip to take place after covid-19 ..though idk why they did that because there’s no reference to covid-19 in this film…I think they thought about having covid-19 being referenced ans having a bit of a role in this film and decided on not doing it…smart on them…but then it begs the question why the 4 year time jump then? Yeah idk either…..second major issue no one on this film acts correctly….Allyson for some reason acts like a bratty teen yet she’s in her early 20s, and Laurie just doesn’t act like Laurie …she acts more like a drunken Jamie Lee Curtis ..and finally Micheal Myers he got it worst he doesn’t act like Micheal Myers or the shape as we know him…no instead he acts like a fragile old man…..well get to that in a small bit…and my other issue is the advertisement, the way the 2 trailers, the ads heck even the poster would have u believe that this film is gonna be about Micheal Myers and Laurie strode but it isnt, instead its about tbjs new random character named Corry Cunningham……talk about false advertisement, granted if they put him on the poster there be barley anyone who would go see this film….so i guess woo hoo i guess?…..sighhhh……now let’s talk about the positives and negatives with the films plot

Positives:

Well uhh I really liked the end credits song its don’t fear the reaper by blue oyster cult….yeah it’s an odd pick for this film kinda corny if u ask me…but hey I now have a new favorite song….but it just doesn’t fit the Halloween vibes…BTW here’s the song

Yeah weird pick I know but hey it’s catchy……second positive well I like the idea of just being close to Myers for to long and looking in his eyes will transfer the evil to someone else who looks at him directly…its a idea taken straight out of Halloween 4…only issue is there it was done a whole lot better…yeah did I mention I only like the idea in this film on paper because it wasn’t executed that well….uh yeah thats where my positives end, and that second one was barley a compliment…heck the first compliment was a back handed compliment…now onto the negatives…there’s a whole lot

Negatives:

Oh boy where do I begin well I mean let’s start off with, if ur making ur supposed last film in ur saga that’s supposed to wrap up the characters that were introduced in the last few films…..why would u decide to bring in a new character and focus around him for about 90% of the film?….its stupid and doesn’t begin to make sense……thats one of my main issues with this film…..secondly this film butchered Micheal Myers….he basically acts like an old crippled man who can barley stand up when he’s knocked down…..yet this is thr same guy who in the last film took out 20ish people by himself after getting shot and hit in the head…..guess the injuries caught up to him….Also the fact he only gets 6 min of screen time is kinda insulting….I know what ur wondering wait of he gets 6 min of screen time and this is an 1 hour and 50 min movie then what happened during majority of the film?….easy this is what happens about little over an hour of screen time is of Allyson and Corry Cunningham making goo goo eyes at each other and being rebellious, oh and dating each other……doesn’t that at all sound intriguing to yall?…..then there’s a new element in this film that gets introduced where if Micheal Myers stares at someone for long enough, the evil will transfer to someone else….yeah where did that come from? Make up ur guys mind. Over there at blumhouse…..u guys say Micheal Myers isn’t supernatural at all in this time line yet he now can stare at someone and a bit of his evil transfers to them? And not to mention he survived gearing Shot multiple times, get stabbed multiple times and oh yeah smashed in the head….yet yall say he isn’t supernatural in this film…..u guys get out of here with that nonsense…..oh and if ur wondering do they handle that new element well? Oh hell no….the first time we see Micheal Myers is When the bullies come back to beat up Corry Cunningham…they toss him over a bridge, which glad to see now this film is ripping off of IT…..nice job fellows…anyways he fells onto the ground unconscious, Micheal Myers is in the sewers so he drags Corry inside…..doesn’t kill him for some reason, Corry then wakes up starts walking out of the sewer….but Micheal Myers is there hiding in a Crack in the wall…he grabs Corry by the neck then proceeds to look at him for all of 5 seconds and see into his soul……somehow, and this makes Corry Cunningham into a bad guy somehow…..so now Michael Myers has The powers to transfer evil to someone else all a sudden…..yeah sure why not…at this point I’m about ready for this film to end and where only 40 min into the movie…..oh BTW another issue….so Micheal Myers is a completely wanted human and there’s a Micheal Myers watch party in Haden field making sure to keep an eye out for Micheal Myers, and somehow he disappears for 4 years ans isn’t caught….now I’m gonna give 3 options to how and if u guess right then u deserve a pat on the shoulder…..did he not get caught because?

A. He took off his clothing and wore normal clothing, then get a job/live amongst everyone?

B. Go live in a man whole pipe leading into the sewer that’s underneath a busy packed bridge?

C. Did he die and his body is rotting somewhere?

If u guys guessed B then u deserve a pat on the shoulder, and yes that also seems dumb doesn’t it…he’s not even hiding deep in the sewers his hiding in a man size pipe leading to a sewer underneath a packed bridge…..oh and get this some people gone missing in that area……ok seriously how Inept are the cops in Haden field? Wouldn’t they look in that area? Especially if people went missing? Idk just at this point I stopped caring and I think some of my brain cells died trying to find logic where clearly there’s none to be found…..oh and remember how I said this film doesn’t care about character arcs….well I ain’t wrong…because the most glaring issue is u would think Laurie strode would be on some seeking revenge quest to kill Micheal Myers for him killing her daughter Karen…but nah instead she’s moved on acting like things from the last 3 movies didn’t happen….uhhh ok then….further more remember how I said Halloween kills set up officer Hawkins to have a back story that ties to Michael? Well u would think they would continue that right? Nah instead he’s barley in this film he’s got 3ish min….1 and a half of those minutes if os him flirting with Laurie in a grocery store…..…well I mean good for them they deserve each other she deserves to be happy but seriously? This is all ur gonna use him for in this film? Yeah ok I guess…sighhh…..then we got the worst characteristic in this film….Allyson….dear lord she’s the worst in this film, ohhhh christ yeah so she meets Corry Cunningham for one day….one day and Laurie tells her hmm I don’t know about him, I see evil in his eyes…and Allysons response was basically….well f***k u, ur like everyone else…I’m gonna do what I want and date him heck I’m about ready to move away from u and Haden field…BTW I blame u for my parents and my friends death……..the hell? Where did this come from?…..firstly Laurie isn’t to blame for that….blame Micheal Myers….and secondly is the script trying to convince me all a sudden they’re having an argument where now she wants to leave her grandmother forever yet that never happens during the 4 years? Yeah I am calling bullshite on that mate……..oh and I still can’t figure out why this film focuses on Corry Cunningham so much, they tried making him the next Micheal Myers and the next Laurie Strode…..and this is there explanation, Corry rhymes with Laurie and Corrys name and last name have the same letters just like how Micheal Myers abbreviations have the same letters…..ohhhhhh…….BTW last issue the way Micheal Myers is treated, he gets tackled by Corry then he takes his mask off and leaves with it to wear it and go on a killing spree….sighhh I’m sorry what? This is the same guy who killed 20 people by himself in the last 2 films…..but here he gets his A$$ handed to him by a 24 year old……plz lets move on im getting frustrated…plus my head is hurting……warning , from here on now I’m spoiling the ending of this film so whoever doesn’t want to read this leave now…

So the way this film ends is….just baffling and will split the fan base that’s for sure…..he decides to come to Laurie’s house dressed as Micheal Myers so he can kill her….she shoots him and he falls off the railing and falls to the ground then he decides to slit his own throat so he can pin it on Laurie to make it look like Laurie killed him…..sighhhh what the hell was the point of this character? We had to endure him for 90% of this film just for him to kill himself…..uhhh I I well ouchhhh my head it hurts……trying to find logic for this…..why??…..anyways then Micheal Myers shows up as if the script told him he needs to be here……and he snaps Corrys neck….then this is where my only reaction was ok that kill wasn’t even earned, he was gonna die he was bleeding to death already….not earned definitely not earned….anyways so then the final fight between Micheal and Laurie start and it lasts all of 4 min…..now I know what ur thinking…4 min? Seriously? That’s not enough and ur not wrong…it aint…….of u wanna know how this fight ends well she gets the upper hand by pinning him to the table with 2 knives then knocks a fridge onto his legs to hold him down, then proceeds to take a knife and cut his throat and wrists….ladies ans gentlemen our boogeyman…the guy who survived getting shot in the neck, get shot six times!!, inhaling smoke for long enough, get shot in the chest with a shotgun multiple times and oh yeah smashed against the head with bricks and bats….and somehow cutting the throat and wrists was just to much for him?….

….anyways so Micheal breaks arm loose and chocks Laurie…..then before he can kill her, Allyson comes running in and grabs Micheal Myers arm and snaps it backward and then Micheal and Laurie for some reason hold each other hands then he dies…..wow this just felt underwhelming….anyways then the cops including officer Hawkins shows up she says Micheal Myers is dead then they tie his body to thr top of there car while some of the cops are saying wait this isn’t protocol this isn’t right….just for then the sherif dude to come riding in…and this is the only scene the sherif dude gets he gets all of 5 seconds with 1 piece of dialog….the cops say this isn’t protocol ans he says well Tonight it is….can we just take a moment to consider how much of an affect this sherif dude made to this trilogy…he appears in Halloween 2018 to investigate the new murders happening, in Halloween kills he gets pushed aside by the mob and ignored by the mob…to the point he just sits it out as if he’s thinking u know yall do whatever u want….then he just shows up for 5 seconds in this film….wow, what a waste of what could have been an interesting character….anyways they then escort Laurie and Allyson to the dumpster where everyone in Haden field is waiting there to witness the end of Micheal Myers…..and this is where I say this can be divisive…..Allyson turns on the car crushing machine then Laurie climbs up it and tosses Micheal Myers corps into it and we see his head and body turn into mush basically…so thats the end of Micheal Myers oh lovely….if ur wondering how Is this divisive well because alot of people including me think the town folks should be arrested because they basically just committed a crime…..by lynching Micheal Myers….granted I give them a pass because of how much he’s put them through…anyways then after this we get a 3 min resolution and once again not enough time, so the resolution Allyson is no longer mad at Laurie ..she tells her she was right she knew that Corry was killing people for a while…..sighhh well if u knew he was killing people for a while then why would u try defending him and get all mean at ur grandmother?…..


…..moving on!! Then Allyson decides to drive away from Haden field….and I’m wondering why they didn’t consider this in thr first place? Huh….I mean Laurie brought a new house in Haden field why not at that point think yeah maybe should buy a new house outside of Haden field….so Allyson has the right idea…I think…granted she’s leaving her grandmother so eh….then as for Laurie uhh the film ends with officer Hawkins dropping some veggies off to her and she walks outside and days to him u where telling me about those poppies? And she sits down on the front porch, he joins her and they both sit there….then the film cuts to inside her house and we see Micheal Myers moldy mask sitting on her table….ok why I’d that there? Why she want to hold onto that? It’s moldy and secondly it’s infected both by mold and Prob by the evil it was worn by for 40 years…..sigh anyways the credits pop and up and don’t fear the reaper starts playing….I’ll post the link again…also heres the end scene of the film….or the final shot of the film

And I still think why this song? Such a weird pick….it doesn’t fit for Halloween in my opinion ….anyways the end thank the lord God I hated this film….its not a good ending…it fails at being a final entry in the 40 year decade saga of Micheal Myers and Laurie strode….fails at being a slasher film because Micheal Myers only shows up for 6 min and gets only 2 kills in this film…wow thats vaguely anything….the film feels more like a dark romance film…which isn’t what we the fans brought tickets for….heck I didn’t buy a ticket I saw this on Peacock thank the lord because I didn’t want to go to theaters for this film….yeah this was just a disappointment it makes me have a new fond respect for Halloween kills because at least that felt like a Micheal Myers Halloween film….this doesn’t feel like a Halloween movie it feels like a hallmark movie with Halloween elements side lined into it…it has all the ingredients of a hallmark movie….heck theres one scene that has laurie burn a pie…why? Just why? Is that necessary? It aint….sighhhh

final verdict….1/10…horrible film I don’t recommend it at all…..thanks for sticking around
