Resident Evil Welcome To Racoon City

Resident Evil Welcome To Racoon City: Let’s start off with the trailers before I get to far.

Can’t believe it took me this long to get around to this review, oh wait a minute, yes I can because I’ve been trying to avoid this film.

And for good reasons btw, the first sin was them combining the first 2 games into one film, the second issue was well everything else about this film.

So what’s the plot rundown you all are wondering? Well in this modern adaptation of 2 beloved games, we follow this contrived mess of a film that feels like it’s stitched together like Frankenstein monster.

Were we following our main characters

Albert Wesker (Played byTom Hopper)

Chris Redfield (Played by Robbie Amel)

Jill Valentine (Played by Hannah John-Kamen)

Leon S. Kennedy (Played by Avan Jogia) (who’s treated as the butt end of every joke in this film)

Claire Redfield (Played by Kaya Scodelario)

Ada Wong (Played by Lily Gao)

Yeah if this sounds like too many characters then y’all are correct, anyways the zombie outbreak happens and the gang splits up where some of them explore the mansion from the first film and the other visit the police station from the second film.

See why I say this is a Frankenstein of a film? Anyway, all the while we got our mustache-twirling villain named William Birkin (Played by Neal McDonough).

In the game, he’s just a father who works for Umbrella. One day the group sends their men to kill him and take his information away.

But this is his research so he injects himself with the experiment and over time he mutates into a monster, also his young daughter is in the hands of Claire Redfield and Leon S. Kennedy, she’s the tie to William Birkins’ ink of humanity.

Here in this film, he’s just a mustache-twirling villain minus the mustache, fantastic u nailed that character perfectly.

Wanna know how perfect they nail down Leon? Well in the games he’s a charming fellow who’s a first-day cop but since the world goes to shite on day one, he now has to adopt.

He might be flawed but he gets the job done, here in this film he’s a doofus, that’s the nicest way of putting it. He doesn’t know how to use a gun, he goes throughout the film always looking confused.

He’s the literal doofus of the story, anyways that’s all I’ll say about the film without getting into spoilers. For now, let’s get the rating out of the way, this film gets a 1/10, the only reason it’s getting a 1 is because the film works, it functions. But besides that, it’s eh.

Also, there’s a scene of a person who enters a bar where the main characters are at, and this person starts bleeding out of the eye (this is s symptom of the zombie virus starting).

The bartender asks them if they are OK, which the person is like oh this yeah this is normal, sorry what?

Bleeding from the eye is normal? Oh yeah, all good here definitely checks out, because people just usually bleed from the eyes.

Last thing, just like the MK 2021 film, the movie thinks it’s being faithful to the source material because they are adding references from the source material into the adaptation.

I mean we get a zombie who writes the words “Itchy Scratchy” on a glass door with blood, ahhhhhh they said the thing! So this must mean it’s faithful! See guys we’re faithful! Fuck right off movie.

There’s also some side stuff I neglected to mention but it doesn’t matter, anyways warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned ⚠️.

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revaluations spoilers there are no revelations. So come the third act, Mr mustache’s Twirling villain decides to inject himself with the serum.

Why? Don’t ask me why, so he mutates into this horrible CGI monstrosity, I wish I was kidding but the CGI looks god-awful.

Looks like something straight out of the PS1 era, yeah not PS2 but PS1, offfff, anyways film ends with them defeating Birkin CGI monster, Wesker betrays the group and he gets blinded in the eyes, at the end credits this mysterious woman gives him his iconic glasses so he can see.

Who cares, anyways the end, hope y’all enjoyed this review, till next time.
