Star Trek The Search for Spoke: So let’s get into this film review shall we? So in this film, we pick up shortly after the events of Wrath of Khan….which saw the defeat of Khan and the creation of Genesis planet but those were empty victories…Spock is dead and McCoy has well gone insane like he’s no longer making sense, to the point where he’s saying dialog that Spock use to say…welp can things get any worse? Well I’ll get to that in a small bit but for now, the crew gets paid a visit from Spock’s father which Is a surprise visit…..he checks McCoy out and this is where things get interesting, turns out McCoy isn’t insane no apparently get this Spock put his entire memories including and not limit to, his time at star fleet, what he’s done with Kirk and the rest of the crew…basically everything in his life up till his death…..jeepers but also get this
Apparently, the ship tracks a lide signal different from the other life signals down on that planet….Kirk jumps to the conclusion it is Spock…..but to make sure well 2 people volunteer to go down and that be the female Vulcan from the last film and Kirk’s son……so Spock’s father points out that if Spock is indeed alive then what I can do is take ur friend McCoy and transfer all of Spock’s memories into Spock, I must go back home and get the stuff ready for this ritual……yeah that’s right Spock might be back….that’s great news…..now it’s time for the bad news a group of Klingons get the word about the genesis planet and want to go after the planet to get something from the core that can help them annihilate planets easily…so now it’s become a race against who can get there first…
So anyways down on the planet Kirk’s son and the female Vulcan do end up locating Spock except here he’s a baby, yeah they located baby Spock…..yeah turns out the planet reborn Spock but from infant stage…….so now they have to try to find a way of the planet but they try contacting Kirk and the crew but due to some communication error they can’t reach a signal uh oh…..if that’s not dire enough well by night time Spock turns into a 5-year-old kid…..yeah so it turns out the planet is rapidly aging Spock as well, which isn’t good because it means he isn’t learning anything like how to speak and all that so his mental development will be basically at infant level while his body will be an adult…..so now they really do have to get him off this planet fast…..
Unfortunately, while this happens the Klingons make it to the planet, where the captain of the Klingons and some of his men teleport down to the planet and then proceed to hold young Spock, Kirk’s kid, and the female Vulcan as hostage uh oh….btw keep in mind while they’re down there being held for captive well Spock is aging fast, now he’s a teenage boy yikes……also while this happens, in space Kirk and his crew are dealing with the rest of the Klingon fleet who are trying to get aboard there ship……uh oh, which they successfully do but while that happens Kirk and his men secretly escape the ship and land on the planet also they leave the Klingons a parting gift…..they set the enterprise to blow up as soon as the Klingons enter on board wooooooo…..which does mean yep that’s the end of the USS Enterprise for now hopefully….heres the clip
So yeah Kirk and his men are standing on a mountain cliff on the planet watching the Enterprise crass out of orbit while Kirk says Bones what have I done?…..yeah what have u done Kirk? Anyways so while they head the way to Spock and the others Kirk’s son, unfortunately he tries to play hero by trying to save Spock while he’s being toyed at….so he tries saving Spock but what ends up happening is one of the Klingons kills Kirk’s son…..Dunn Dunn Dunnnnnnn, so yeah now Kirk’s son is killed
Anyways shortly after well Kirk arrives, which he sees the Klingons…..his son dead on the floor, and an adult-aged Spock on the floor hurdled up moaning and groaning……so Kirk is upset his son is dead so he fights the Klingon leader btw here’s the scene
Also, I forgot to mention the planet is cracking and exposing lava yeah the planet is dying for some reason idk why and I forget why….so anyways the fight ends with the Klingon leader holding on the ledge of the crack in the floor over lava whwre he asks Kirk for his hand to help him…..Kirk being the noble man he is tries to save him but instead the Klingon leader just decides to grab ahold of Kirk’s leg to try to drag him down with him but he fails at that which then Kirk starts kicking at the Klingons head while saying “I have had enough of u”…..lolo I agree Kirk we all have
So as the planet starts collapsing the group must teleport out with Spock……so anyways our group takes Spock to his home world with McCoy to transfer Spock’s memories into Spock himself…..btw here’s the clip enjoy
So as we see the tradition worked, they get Spock’s memories back into Spock, but it takes a quick moment for him to realize Kirk’s name….we see him walking out in a robe with a crew of Vulcans, and then he goes up to Kirk and says my father told me u have been my friend…..he also told me u came back for me, why would u do this? Which Kirk says because the needs of the one, out ways the needs of the many…….which does spark something inside Spock because also after Kirk says don’t u remember u saved everyone on the ship? Which then Spock says Jim, ur name is Jim
Yesssss yess Spock is back he finally remembers…..happy ending, yayyyyyy……happy reunion…..so overall I had some problems with this film but I did enjoy the film granted not as much as Wrath of Khan but still so I’ll give this film a solid ehhh 8/10 I still highly recommend it
