Batman Arkham Knight: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailer shall we?

This is the one I’ll be talking about for a while, I have a massive rant to go on with this game…so sit tight folks… and without further due let’s get into the review shall we?

So what’s the plot rundown? Roughly 1 year after the Joker died, Gotham seemed to have gone back to normal. Until one night Scarecrow announces on live TV that he’s gonna drown the whole town in his fear toxins.

Which scares the entire folks of Gotham out of the city, so now the city is vacant. Except for the enemies, Batman (voiced by Kevin Conroy, RIP).

Gordon has one night to fix this mess before Scarecrow destroys Gotham City, it just also so happens the same night this mysterious figure named The Arkham Knight comes out of nowhere and is working with Scarecrow.

This guy has immense hate for Batman and knows everything about Batman, hmmm I wonder who this guy is? Such a mystery.

Don’t worry I’ll get to that in spoilers, I have a small rant about this character but I’ll wait.

Oh and in one night Batman has to get the criminals back into their cells. Quick thing I do wanna point one thing out there’s a side quest where ur just grappling and gliding.

All of a sudden u climb up the side of a random building and u get jump scared by Man-Bat.

Won’t lie that got me, granted it got everyone as well, so I ain’t alone. I wanted to bring that up to scare y’all, because I’m nuts, now join the sanity.

Hehehehehe jk, anyways Batman does have to get the help of Poison Ivy to help him out, also Batman is absolutely sure this night is his last night, so why?

I’ll tell u in spoilers, so why does Batman say this is his final night? Will Batman stop Scarecrow? Who the hell is the Arkham Knight? All will be revealed in the spoilers.

Now it’s time for the rant, sit tight we’re gonna be here for a while, these are the reasons why I hate this game (also yeah I’m just gonna spoil now who Arkham Knight is because need to, it’s part of the reason I hate this game).

Firstly they gave us the batmobile for the first time in this game series, great on paper. The only issue is it was executed poorly, u will be finding yourself 9 times out of 10 during missions having to use the batmobile too.

Grapple and pull objects down.

Charge up an electric door.

Fight enemies in tanks.

Get around the city.

Put enemies in the back of the batmobile and drive back to the JCPD.

All great and all but can we plz focus more on playing as Batman himself? Gliding around and grappling?

Speaking of the tanks, oh boy the tanks. So get this Arkham Knight knows Batman’s one rule is to not kill people so he instead has no person I’m those tanks.

They are AI controlled, right here’s a question, why? Why have they been AI-controlled? Oh was this the developers get around to Batman not killing people? Is it because people would say hey wait a minute Batman doesn’t kill!

So why is he blowing up tanks? Yeah fair enough but it’s lazy. Now let’s talk about the goddamn Arkham Knight, oh where do I even begin.

Well, the devs lied their teeth off, and fans right away were able to figure out who the Arkham Knight was as soon as he was announced, spoilers it’s Jason Todd. Gasp who would have thunk!

But the devs said no that’s stupid, we would never consider that, he is not Jason Todd. He’s a new character, Spoilers it is Jason Todd, also double spoilers The Arkham Knight is Red Hood.

So not a brand new original character that Rocksteady has been saying he is, got it? Thanks, Rocksteady, we ain’t stupid.

Also this quote on quote new character being Red Hood, seriously? New character? So yeah if u can’t tell this game takes heavy inspiration from the death in the family when Jason Todd gets murdered by Joker and comes back as Red Hood.

Only now hea Arkham Knight instead because the devs had no other bright ideas for a plot twist, so as soon as I figured out it was Jason Todd, the impact of the twist didn’t hit me at all.

I was like, sigh ok sure why not. Let’s just now add Red Hood for no reason, because I guess Scarecrow wasn’t enough.

Speaking of Scarecrow, his motivation oh lord his motivation is dumb, there’s no easy way of beating around that bush. His motivation sucks.

It doesn’t make any sense. So get this his motivation is he wants to destroy Gotham City, so he plans to by releasing his fear toxins onto the city.

Ok ok, I’m with u so far, so with ur brilliant mind what do u plan to do? Oh, what’s that tell everyone on live TV that ur gonna do it. Giving them ample amount of time to escape the city? Then what’s the point of releasing fear toxins into the city?

The only people left are the criminals and the cops, u planning on making the criminals more insane? If that’s even possible. Because remember folks these are Batman’s Rogue Gallery.

Ain’t no one sane in his Rogues gallery, ok so the execution is making no sense, but this all will make zero sense when I tell u what motivated him to do this in the first place.

Wanna know why he wants to release fear toxins into Gotham which will destroy Gotham? It’s because in the Batman Arkham Asylum game he got attacked and mauled by killer Croc, now his face is all mangled and he wears a mask to cover his skeletal look.

And he is vengeful that Killer Croc did this to him, ok so then why don’t u just go after Killer Croc then? U looney! What does Killer Croc mangling ur face have to do with infecting the entire city of Gotham with fear toxins have to do with anything?

Oh but don’t worry it all gets worse, because when Batman has the help of Poison Ivy to use her plants to counter his fear toxins he releases, which ruins his plan. He moves onto plan B I guess.

This involves him wanting to expose to the world who Batman is, so he does so by kidnapping Robin and Gordon so he can lure Batman to him.

Again, why? What’s any of this? Also, why does Batman listen to Scarecrow? He tells Batman to leave his gadgets behind and go to a specific building, right again why?

Also when he gets to the building u would think he would beat up Scarecrow because he’s strong while Scarecrow is scrawny and can’t take on Batman.

But nah he just allows Scarecrow to tie him up to a gurney and roll him inside and force Gordon to take his mask off so everyone on live TV can see who he truly is.

SMH, Batman why? Why didn’t u just beat up his scrawny ass? It ain’t that hard, oh what’s that he has a gun pointed at u. Oh, woe is me.

Do u see yet what I mean by Scarcrows whole plan sucks? BTW only bright side I can say about this game is the soundtrack is gorgeous and the game itself is gorgeous.

Plus I still stick to what I say, the designs of the villains in this game and the heroes are the definitive versions of the characters.

Also as always, the voice acting is phenomenal, Kevin Conroy will always be the definitive version of Batman and Mark Hamil will always be the definitive version of the Joker in my opinion.

There’s one downside to this entire Trilogy, those darn Riddler Trophies, oh boy those Trophies. Hard to get, pointless to get 100%.

This time in this game get this, u will have to use the batmobile to fo the Riddler challenges when u locate him because I guess those Trophies weren’t enough and painful already.

No we have to add on top of all that a car mechanism? Also, side note, how the hell did the Riddler know Batman would bring his batmobile?

This reminds me of how even the Dark Knight trilogy kinda ended on a dud of a film, hey at least we have the first 2 games and first 2 films in both trilogies.

Why bother with the 3rd installment? Usually, the 3rd one isn’t the best.

One last thing and this has nothing to do with gameplay, but in this game and the previous game u could change outfits for Batman, in this game there’s the 1989 Batman outfit. I pick that outfit and use it because I still stand by what I say, Micheal Keaton Batman is my all-time favorite.

Now let’s get the rating….so yeah I ain’t gonna soften this…this game I don’t like, like at all, well besides 1 or 2 to 3 elements but besides that still…heck I look at this game as the Dark Knight Rises of the Dark Knight trilogy….so overall 3/10

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revelations, so Poison Ivy dies after using her life to use her powers to enhance her plants to fight back against the fear toxins by wiping them away.

Yes, the Arkham Knight is Jason Todd, he’s pissed at Batman because Joker brainwashed him into believing he abandoned him.

Also why Batman keeps saying this is his final night? Well, remember when Joker infected him with his blood in the last game?

Yeah turns out that the fountain of Youth vaccine didn’t cure him even though it’s the Fountain of Youth! Nah instead batman is still dying.

Now hea hallucinating Joker everywhere, yeah Joker is back but in the form of a hallucination, I won’t lie he’s the best part of this game. He’s absolutely funny.

So Batman has been finding people who have been infected, been locking them up in a container facility and he plans to lock himself up after the night is done.

Oh goodie, anyways so as for the 3rd act, batman has his mask taken off now the whole world sees two he is, batman gets injected with fear toxins and has to fight his inner demons which is the Joker serum.

Batman gets saved by Red Hood, so Batman grabs Crain and injects Crain with his own toxins, womp womp.

Now everyone knows who Batman is, bet to say half of the people including the GCPD aren’t happy that it’s Bruce Wayne. But why though? He’s been helping u guys out.

Anyway game ends with him going back home and telling Alfred to activate a protocol, while everyone is outside Wayne Manor trying to talk to Wayne and the news people there.

Just then Wayne Manor blows up, boom. The end, and we ger. Atwase of a mysterious new bat figure Haunting the criminals in the streets, the end. Here are the full cutscenes of the game.
