Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?
Yeah probably gonna get some flag for continuing to review The Wizarding World Franchise, but also I bet I’m gonna get tons of Lego game fans here as well.
Here’s the main menu of this game,
So what’s the plot rundown y’all are wondering? Join The Wizarding World, and be immersed. Join Harry Potter and play as him, while u get to experience the first 4 movies in Lego format.
4 chapters, 6 levels each. Yeah, that’s a lot, but that’s not all. There’s the open world where u get to explore Hogwarts (both inside and outside).
Explore outside of Hagrid’s hut and the Quidditch arena.
Also explore Diagon Alley, along with Knockturn ally.
This game came out in the era of Lego games not having dialog btw, yeah I miss those Lego games can we go back to those?
Also in this game, it feels like the gameplay involves puzzles, which actually fits this franchise.
U will be using spells, and put together tunnels to spawn a rat or cat to crawl through. Also through this game, u will be unlocking spell by spell in a specific order.
I actually like that, I like the game doesn’t give u all abilities at first.
So now it’s time to discuss a few things. Mainly how difficult it is to unlock Lord Voldemort in both these games.
If any of y’all think it’s a walk in the park, let me just tell u it is not, so essentially u have to get all 200 gold bricks, then go to Knockturn Ally and u will see a golden door to build in a building and u must build it to enter it and do a bonus mission to get Voldemort.
Keep in mind the way u get all 200 gold bricks is by.
Getting 100% in each level.
Finding every gold brick’s in Hogwarts.
Saving students in peril.
Doing the bonus missions in the bank.
Purchase gold bricks in the store in Disgon Ally. (Which means u will be grinding for tons of studs).
So essentially u need to get 99.9% of the game complete to unlock Voldemort, oh good grief. But it’s worth it because Voldemort is the most powerful in the roster, btw Here’s the gameplay of the bonus mission.
Oh and once u enter the bonus level, which consists of u Voldemort, and a Death Eater going around London, u have to rack up 1 million studs to pass the level, so u will have to destroy every object in the level.
Oh goodie, but once again it’s all worth it.
Before we discuss rating I wanna discuss that one level I despise and always dread when replaying.
It’s the infamous Black Lake level, oh I hate this level, why? Well, it’s an underwater level first. But mainly why I hate this level is the camera angle is a side view, so u have to swim straight forward while the camera is aiming at the right side of your main character and the scenery.
All the while having to swim up and down to find all the collectibles, warning it’s difficult.
So now let’s get the rating out of the way, overall I absolutely adore this game, it’s worth the play. So I’ll give Lego Harry Potter Years 1-4 a solid 10/10.
Also here are the full cutscenes of the game,
Till next time, I have multiple reviews coming soon.
