Lego Batman The Video Game: Firstly I wanna start by showing y’all a trailer….plz enjoy

Yeah I grew up playing this game, it’s a game I hold close to my heart……I occasionally go back and replay this game….this game I grew up playing, so I have tons of attachment to this game and nostalgia…let’s see if it stands the test of time or if it is outdated….but first let’s get the rating out of the way so we can get into some mild spoilers.

BTW this game had one of the best opening logos for a Lego game.

So what’s the plot rundown? Essentially Batman and Robin must go around and send the criminals who escaped back to prison, these prisoners consist of

Mr. Freeze

Joker

Harley Quinn

Mad Hater

Clay face

Two-Face

Riddler

Poison Ivy

Penguin

Catwoman

Bane

Killer Croc

Man-Bat

Killer Moth

Scarecrow

BTW each Killers are split into factions, u have

Faction 1:

Leader, Riddler

Two-Face

Poison Ivy

Mr. Freeze

What’s Riddler’s goal? To rob the Gotham Bank of course. He’s gonna need the help of these villains along with the items they acquire.

Faction 2:

Leader, Penguin

Catwoman

Man bat

Bane

Killer Croc

What’s Penguins plan? To use a machine at the zoo to mind control the people of Gotham City.

Faction 3:

Leader, Joker

Harley Quinn

Mad Hater

Killer Moth

Scarecrow

What’s Joker’s plan? Idk, to wreak havoc? Possibly, in all fairness, it’s hard to tell what his real motivation is outside of doing chaos.

Also, there’s this iconic scene of the villains breaking out of Arkham, plz enjoy it.

What I love about this game is the maps all have that Tim Burton vibe to them along with the classic animated Batman series, Robin is also a complete goof in this game.

Also unusual this is where the game would end after Batman and Robin defeated each boss and sent them back to Arkham.

But the game devs did something amazing, something creative, they gave the villains their own levels.

If u go to the control panel in the Batcave u can switch to the villains who are in Arkham and play the levels but this time the levels take place before Batman and Robin show up.

Oh ok, I like that a lot, I like the idea of getting to play as these iconic villains.

BTW there’s something strange I have to mention, bane has a playable level where u play as him, yet in the good guy missions u never fight him.

Yeah, talk about a missed opportunity. I have to mention my favorite characters in this game specifically (based on their designs and abilities) are,

Yeah, they are my favorite to play as, also if ur expecting any spoilers. There’s none, it’s hard to spoil a game where there’s no voice dialog and the story just involves Batman and Robin going to locations beating up enemies, and sending them back to Arkham.

So I will take this time to talk about some cool mechanics in this game, mention the extra content then I’ll give a rating. Also I’ll post s link to the soundtrack and show y’all my favorite soundtrack from the soundtrack.

So let’s talk about the ambiance, for a kid’s game this is a dark game. I mean take out the fact ur essentially fighting against mentally ill people who are mentally/physically scarred.

But if u enter the Arkham part of the free roam ans u decide to go into the settings to turn off the music, u get to hear the true horrors. U can hear inmates screaming.

Dear God this is a kids game keep in mind. Now let’s talk about the soundtrack, here’s the full link to the soundtrack

Now let’s talk about the negatives, don’t worry this one is quick. Essentially the one thing that didn’t age well is the vehicle missions, granted I love the vehicle missions. They consist of

A car mission

A boat mission

A flying mission

The reason why I say they didn’t age well is because of and I can see the argument of people not liking this, but those 3 missions are from a kinda bird eye view, kinda. All the while this game doesn’t have a split screen so if ur playing with a friend and ur driving in one direction while ur friend isn’t moving or is moving in the opposite direction.

Then ur stuck and out of luck, yeah the thing this game not having a split screen kinda does hurt this game, heck it kinda hurts old Lego games but I ain’t complaining. I love the old Lego games.

Also final thing I want to bring up, in this game at each level u get to change outfits for Batman and Robin, they have different tech suits that are helpful for different things.

I will mention that Batman gets the cool gadget suits while Robin gets some lame suits, for example, he gets a suction suit that allows him to suck up Lego pieces.

Actually speaking of, once I played this game with my sister, to quote her “This isn’t fair, why does Batman get all the cool gadgets while Robin gets a glorified vacuum cleaner!”

Hahahahaha she isn’t wrong, that suit is just a glorified vacuum cleaner, ah my superpower are sucking up garbage, I’m saving the city one garbage at a time. Lololo, sorry can’t help myself.

Now time to get the rating out of the way, I absolutely love this game, plz if y’all get a chance plz go play this game. If ur a fellow Lego lover, a DC lover, or a Batman lover, u need to play this game.
