Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

That’s right folks it’s time to strap on in because today we’re reviewing Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart.

BTW full disclosure, this is the second Ratchet and Clank game u ever played, the first one was that 1st game remake. The one that no one likes, but since I ain’t a die-hard fan. I actually found myself enjoying that game.

So what is the plot rundown y’all are wondering?

Ratchet, Clank, and Dr. Nefarious are transported to an alternate universe after Dr. Nefarious attacks Ratchet and Clank at their parade.

Where the Dimensionator explodes, damaging the fabric of space and time and separating the three. Clank awakens to find himself alone and now missing his right arm from the blast. He is discovered and picked up by a female Lombax named Rivet.

There’s mode then one Lombex now, also Ratchet eventually locates a female Clank named Kit.

She a shy robot because she has a traumatic story, what is that traumatic story? Will Ratchet and Clank reunite with each other? Will Ratchet and Rivet meet each other?

Will they stop Dr. Nefarious who in this world is the Emperor, will they make it back to their dimension? All will be revealed in the spoilers.

I do quickly wanna talk about the gameplay of this game, in this game throughout the game u will be collecting bolts that fall out of enemies u kill. These bolts are used to purchase new weapons.

I recommend collecting every bolt as possible because the different guns u can unlock are always improved and better than the other one.

Heck, u can buy special abilities such as infinite ammo, that one I love because who doesn’t love infinite ammo?

U also can purchase different skin styles for ur wrench and hammer, can also purchase bolt appearance, such as u can change them to look like gems.

Also, u can purchase skins for ur spaceship u have in this game.

My favorite gun in this game is a rift portal gun that summons random objects which kills enemies.

My second favorite gun is a rocket launcher.

When u play as Rivet u have this new ability where in her missions u can enter through portals, one that takes u to the past when there’s life and enemies, and the other portal is to the future where things are destroyed and there are no enemies.

U will have to use this mechanism on occasion during her missions, one of my favorite mechanisms both Ratchet and Rivet have is hover skates where they can skate on air throughout the map to help u get to one location faster.

There is one downside, I can see the argument that Ratchet and Rivet are way too similar, down to the fact Rivet has the exact same tools and gadgets that Ratchet has.

Including his iconic wrench, no wait Rivet has a hammer, my bad. That’s the only difference between them.

Oh last 2 things I wanna bring up, there are multiple outfits in this game for Ratchet and Rivet that u can collect and have them wear.

Each of their outfits is exactly the same, heck if ur leaving a segment where u play as Ratchet and are about to go to Rivet. She’s wearing the same outfit u have on for Ratchet.

Again that’s lazy, but hey I can look past that, also if y’all don’t know both Ratchet and Rivet have a grapple ability so they can swing across platforms.

Also final note, on specific planets u either get to play as Ratchet or Rivet, there’s not a lot of planets u play as Rivet or Ratchet. Wish they let u pick ur character on any planet u want.

Also yes there’s free roam after the story is done, so u don’t have to be finished yet with the game.

So now let’s get into the rating so we can spoil the 3rd act and any revelations.

Overall I absolutely love this game, folks this might be my new favorite Sony game. On a side note try telling me I’m wrong but I truly believe Sony has the best video games when it comes to their system.

Yeah dare u to tell me Xbox has the better games, well besides the recent Indiana Jones game because that was a banger for Xbox (soon to be for PS5 this year).

BTW this game is only a PS5 game, u can’t play it in PS4 unfortunately.

So overall I’ll give Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart a solid 10/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned ⚠️.

Time to spoil the 3rd act and any revelations, so what’s Kit’s traumatic story? Why doesn’t she trust people? Well turns out she was accidentally made by Dr. Nefarious (just like Clank) both robots ended up being the bad bunch out of the group.

Meaning they came out cute and small, as if there was a flaw in the system, but the only difference with Kit is she was programmed to attack any threats.

So one day she bumps into Rivet in an alleyway and Kit turns into a giant killing robot and slaves off Rivet’s arm, oh no.

Yeah, bet u can see where this goes when Ratchet introduces Kit to Rivet when they both locate each other. Rivet isn’t happy with Kit because she cut her arm off.

Kit leaves in shame because she understands, ugh. Don’t worry she comes back to help in the 3rd act. The 3rd act consists of both Ratchet and Clank and Rivet having to take on Emperor Nefarious.

So how do they Defeat Emperor Nefarious? Glad y’all asked, for u see Rivet strikes Emperor Nefarious out with her hammer, cracking his cranial shell.

This happens after Kit comes back to help out, yay she finally matured.

Dr. Nefarious then deals the finishing blow, dropping Emperor Nefarious into a portal. With the threat vanquished, the dimensions return to normal.

Hurray the day is saved, now u can free roam to your own heart’s content, btw Here’s the full soundtrack of this game.

Overall yeah I highly recommend this game especially if u have a PS5, I know this game can just be seen as a mascot game but plz give it a chance.
