Astros Playroom: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?
That’s right folks today we’re talking about this recent iconic mascot for Sony, stay for the fun and feel the sensation from ur PS5 remote.
So what’s the plot rundown of this game? Well while the Astro Bots are flying in their PS5 spaceship, a group of aliens come and steal their power packs and circuits from within the ship.
The Bots crash land on a sand planet which becomes their hub world, where u Astro Bot must go through teleportations after unlocking specific areas in the hub world.
Where do these teleportations take u? To different levels where u essentially do climbing and jumping and fighting, think Mario but ur a Robot.
Where each main planet after getting past the maps in each planet u will then deal with a boss fight which then u will get a circuit back of ur PS5. Will Astro Bot be able to get back all the pieces?
Will they defeat the aliens? All will be revealed in spoilers, but for now, let’s talk about some cool elements in this game.
So what are those cool things? Well, Astro Bot is essentially a love letter to the Playstation era. So each level u can find old Playstation items and bring them back to the hub. Along with finding 5 puzzle pieces in each map.
These pieces are hidden, heck the levels have cool callbacks to old Playstation-related things, such as there are these bonus levels u can discover by rescuing Bots, yeah I forgot to mention u rescue Bots in each match, the Bots are dressed in outfits that are callbacks to old Playstation games.
Depending on the ones you rescue, you will get a bonus level that’s inspired by Playstation games such as
God or war
Uncharted
Horizon Zero Dawn
U the Bot gets to dress up as those characters and get their iconic weapons in those matches, now that’s a cool element to this game.
Now it’s time to talk about the best part of this game, the dual sense controller.
U can feel every sensation on the dual pad sense on ur control, down to u feeling the vibration in the remote when pulling an object, u hearing the tiny footsteps from the robot within in remote dual sense.
Also to blow windmills to get things to move u have to blow into ur remote, this game is truly next-gen gaming.
As for a negative, there’s a gadget in this game that gives u a monkey outfit that allows u to climb up walls, the issue is to do it u have to tilt ur remote left and right each time, and be prepared for your joints to hurt.
At least the sequel game fixed that by having it u have to press the R2 and L1 buttons.
Now let’s get the rating out of the way, overall yeah I highly recommend this game especially if u have a PS5, I know this game can just be seen as a mascot game but plz give it a chance.
Also here’s a kicker, this game (not Astro Bot, but Astros Playroom) comes free and installed on ur PS4 system and PS5 system, so ur getting a bank for ur buck, as in u won’t be spending money.
So I’m gonna give Astro Bot a solid 9/10, I hope y’all enjoyed this review, till next time.
