The House of The Dead: Let’s firstly start by showing y’all this trailer, which i also guess is the opening credits as well.

Ohhhhhhh yep y’all are in for a banger today, if u don’t think that trailer is much of a banger then let me represent y’all with the main menu music

Then let’s hit u with this epic music that comes after the main menu song when u start the game

Yeah, try telling me this isn’t epic. BTW this game is made by Sega, yes that same Sega who would go on to make Sonic The Hedgehog, that’s a fun fact for today.

Also, I remember when me and my sister went to a pizzeria as a kid, The House Of The Dead game was in the back, me and her would go play this game. Why were we allowed to play a zombie game as a kid is beyond me?

Why did we both played this game as kids is beyond me, I mean in all fairness we also read Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark as a kid.

So what’s the plot summary? Well ur main character makes their way to a creepy mansion in the mountains that’s filled with the undead, u have to save ur lady friend who gets kidnapped all the while saving scientists who are inside.

Also, unravel who’s behind all this, spoilers it doesn’t matter who it is. Not like ur meant to get connected to these characters, this game is just a first-person shooter zombie arcade game.

But the villain’s name is Kyrian, now time to talk about what I liked about this game and didn’t, then we will get the rating out of the way.

Positives: look at this goddamn opening, try telling me of something better than this opening.

“Others are still inside, save them”

Negatives: it unfortunately required 2 people to play at the same time for the game to even work. No don’t ask me why, but this made it harder to play the arcade game.

Also, this isn’t an issue but me and my sister never got past the first chapter, it was hard as heck. But many years later I got to play it fully when the remake came out so now I know the whole first game story.

Also throughout this game u fight different variants of zombies such as.

Frog zombies

Leech zombies

Monkey zombies

Panther zombies

Zombies with axes

Fat zombies who throw barrels

Robot zombies

Yes robot zombies, this game is truly one of a kind in its weirdness.

I will say this though there are 2 boss fights that took me off guard for a zombie game, which I’ll mention in the spoilers.

Also, I feel the new changes to this remake hurt this game, now instead of the zombies having a pre designed death animation, they now have ragdoll physics.

For some reason the zombies fly in the air when u shoot them, yes it’s weird seeing flying dead zombies that bend and contort in itself.

Also since this game is mainly a shooting game where u have to rapidly press a button with ur finger, by the end of the game u will have Carpentongal.

But first, let’s get the rating out of the way, overall I absolutely adore this game. I have so many fond memories and nightmares because of this game.

Also, this game might been the game that got me somewhat interested in the zombie genre, do I have this game to thank for that?

I guess the only issue I could see from this game is it’s very much a copy of Resident Evil, but hey I ain’t complaining.

So overall I’ll give The House of The Dead a solid 10/10, warning spoilers ahead y’all been warned.

Time to spoil the 2 boss fights, essentially the 2 boss fights that threw me for a loop was. U fighting against a gargoyle creature on the roof of the house, which is a cool fight.

Then our final battle u fight against a wizard being who throws orbs at u, all the while having the ability of super speed to avoid u, oh and he only flies.
