Amnesia The Bunker: Let’s start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?
Ok so where to start, well firstly let’s get the rating out of the way then we can go into spoilers…overall in my humble opinion, I wasn’t too impressed with this game, to me every Amnesia game that came after the first game has paled in comparison to the first game…
Now that’s not to say this is a bad game, it’s just underwhelming…..I was able to predict the plot twist within the first 5ish minutes of this game, not a good sign when ur able to do that, especially for a horror game….and what a shocker my prediction came true….I’ll get to that in spoilers. The game does have gorgeous visuals though..
So overall I’ll give this game a solid 6/10… Anyway warning ⚠️ spoilers ahead y’all has been warned….
Ok, where to start, well the beginning of the game shows our main character on the battlefield of a trench in like World War 1 or 2….anyways ur character makes his way to a friend of his, and u both try getting back to the base…on the way u find a giant crater with a pond in it….u both almost die, heck ur friend bleeds our because y’all get a shoot in the air because a bomb goes off near u both….again this is a war field.
Anyways ur friend is near death so u scoop some water in the hole up in ur canister for ur friend to drink, u then fall unconscious….u wake up in the hospital bed in the bunker, u now have amnesia…ur friend is nowhere to be seen
Anyways if u pick up a note in a room, it basically gives away the plot twist….basically the note says ur friend for some reason was strong enough heck even stronger…to the point he takes u to the bunker while ur unconscious, they ask him how did u do that while in your state near death? Which he responds with idk…
Oh also another note says this mysterious monster that showed up and slaughtered everyone appeared shortly after our main character got brought back to the bunker…
Right so let me get this straight.
• ur friend was near death yet he somehow got the strength of ten and took the main character back to the bunker?
• u the main character fed ur friend some mysterious blue glowing liquid from a crater.
• u wake up to find out a monster came and slaughtered everyone, but this monster only recently showed up after u got brought back to the bunker by ur friend.
Yeah, the monster is ur friend, yeah wow gee wiz what a shocker….what a twist, except as I stated I figured out the plot twist as soon as I read those 2 notes….that to me isn’t really good for a horror game when u can figure out the plot twist within the first 10 min of the game…
Anyways u find yourself a light that only turns on if u yank on its wire multiple times, and u have to keep repeating that to keep the light on otherwise it goes out…
BTW I forgot to mention this game barely feels like an Amnesia game, it feels more like a Resident Evil game…where in that game u have a safe room with a chest where u can store items to not overfill ur inventory…same here, it’s the exact same mechanisms..also there’s really no save slots so if u die u have to restart….luckily it’s not a long game….
So anyways I wanna quickly talk about the monster then I’ll talk about the ending…..so this monster that u see small hints of during the game, u eventually will see the creature…it’s this big green creature in all 4s, with this demonic looking face…big black eyes, sharp teeth.
So come to the end u try to make your way out of the bunker, u go through the lower parts of the bunker where u get attacked by a whacko doodle guy holding a machine gun trying to shoot u……u have to duck and all that and try to kill him, with the gun ur given….btw did I forget to mention ur given a gun in this game? Because you are…and this is the first time for an Amnesia game….
Anyways u finish this odd by blowing up the room down here which kills the guy and the monster, u make ur way out of the bunker outside in the open where it’s safe right?
Wrong this is a warzone, so instead ur character gets shot and dies….the end. We’ll are y’all realizing a pattern here? These games end in a bleak way, which I guess is perfect for horror…
Anyway hope y’all enjoyed this review, also here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on.
