Little Nightmares 2

Little Nightmares 2: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Oh, I cannot wait to talk about this game, but where to start? Well firstly sorry I’m late to these 2 games. But I only recently played these games…..but I’m so glad to now get around to reviewing these 2 games, so this review will be different…we will first start with a rating, and then this is where things get tricky….since these 2 games don’t have dialog or cutscenes..

I’m gonna tell the story while going along with explaining the characters and their outcomes…..so I’ll be taking it piece by piece, but I also won’t spend too long on the review either…so the rating, I honestly enjoyed this game a lot, it’s both eerie, macabre and disturbing….heck, I tensed up a lot, I’ll give this game a solid 10/10 so warning ⚠️ spoilers ahead y’all been warned.

So in this game, u play as this small child boy named Mono, who wears a bag over his head….anyways throughout this game u will explore tons of scary locations, first location u encounter is a cabin in the woods where u will encounter this ginormous hunter guy..he wears a sack over his face, has taxidermy people in his house….

Also Mono finds a human girl locked upstairs whose name is Six…..she’s important btw like really important….anyways after u both escape the hunter….u make yourself towards this ginormous city that’s in the fog, yeah, unlike the first game which took place on a boat, this game takes place in a giant city.

Anyways time to do a brief summary of the game, so in this game just like the first game the game doesn’t tell u where ur supposed to go….well besides the options are only ever straightforward forward or upwards or down sometimes….but u will like the first game be doing puzzles to figure out how to proceed forward….

I won’t talk about that much because I mentioned it for the first game, what I will mention is beginning of this game the game does tell u what buttons to use and how to use them…I think this was a necessary change especially since I think the first game did not have that got backlash…

Also remember how I mentioned in the first game even though the story doesn’t make much sense, because they’re isn’t much context to be given….but the locations on the ship your character heads to seem clear enough on what their motivation was? Well here in the second game ain’t nothing makes sense.

The locations our 2 main characters go to don’t give any hints at what their motivations are, well which isn’t helpful….I’m starting to think the devs don’t know either because it seems they favorited Hey let’s do Spoopy locations because Spoopy….we will scare the audience…

Though in context to the locations we explore, doesn’t give our main characters any motivation…we don’t know what their motivation is, is it they’re trying to escape the city? Then why head to the city in the first place? Just saying….

Also did Mono go to that cabin in the woods on purpose? Did he go there to save that girl? Or was that on accident?

Who knows, the game sure as hell doesn’t want to explain anything….so eventually u make yourself into a school where the girl gets captured by these porcelain doll kids called bullies…there not scary just a bit of a nuisance…

So while u locate ur friend u find yourself sneaking past a classroom of these kids who are being taught by this teacher, btw The game hints that this teacher is abusive to these kids, she uses a ruler to smack her kids with…to smack down on the table to keep them awake, also if u pull down a painting in a hallway u locate a small room behind it with a chair…which implies at she puts the children in there for punishment…what an awful teacher.

Anyways u eventually sneak past rooms where the teacher extends her neck out like a snake… ew, u eventually find ur friend who’s hung upside down…u save her, and u both escape barely because u end up going into a vent but the teacher extends her neck out then proceeds to chase u through the vent via her head/long neck only….

Yes, this scene has tons of tension. Oh also u beat up some of the porcelain kid’s heads open with objects to get past them during this chapter segment…. Anyway so u make it out into the rainy town, and the girl finds this yellow raincoat and then puts it on…

So yes if u haven’t figured it out yet the girl we saved in the beginning is the girl Six from the first Little Nightmares game…this game is a prequel to that….oh I wonder how she ended up like she is in the first game…. Anyway no time for that now, u make ur way into a hospital…btw This entire chapter scared me because it’s the creepiest part in my opinion…I’ll explain why.

So in this segment of the game u have to go on ur own past a door that Six holds open for u until u get under, u have to go locate power piece to put in the circuit to open the elevator…u will need to find 2 of them, 1 u both do together by finding one in the belly of a stuffed bear that u locate via a X-Ray machine….so now onto the second one…

When u get past the door u see this mannequin person standing in the way, u have to pull down the lever to turn out the lights…this is when all hell breaks lose, for this entire segment of the game/chapter u have to get past these rooms with mannequin people….these grotesquely mannequins which some are missing heads…some only have lower mouth and not the rest of the head…

These mannequins only move when it’s in the dark, they will chase after u….u have to aim ur flashlight at them because they freeze in place when u do that…try doing that when ur surrounded by a room filled with mannequins, it becomes stressful and very very frightening…

Heck if that’s not enough the segment also introduces another enemy which is a severed mannequin hand, that crawls on the floor….also it can crawl up the side of walls and into the vent u try to escape from the first time…btw I hated these hands…

There’s a part where u and six reunite, u both get to a door that’s barricaded, while she’s pulling the barricades off u have to defend u and her against the mannequin hands with a metal pipe…

This was abysmal, so when u swing the pipe and slam it into the ground it is kinda slow so while that happens the hands can grab onto u ans u will die, so u have to time ot correctly…also it takes 3 hits to the hand to kill it…all while 2 hands are attacking u, so u have to do that slam mechanism 3 times each while timing it correctly…

Also the hands can dodge ur attack making it more hard….awesome I died 20 times before figuring it out, I hated this part….anyways so eventually u get the elevator working, u make ur way up to a room where u finally encounter the doctor…this grotesquely big guy crawling upside down from the ceiling, his face being slightly droopy…..and has a big belly….

BTW this segment is hard, since he crawls on the ceiling he can see u a bit more, heck if u go hide under a bed he can lift the beds up trying to grab u….I did say this entire segment is downright unnerving…they did a great job.

Anyways u eventually lead the big loaf into a furnace where u sneak out of it…then close the lid on him then set him on fire all while Six sits down and warms up from the fire….well this turned dark….

So now our duo heads out where they find these town folks with deformed faces with no facial features….just wrinkly lob-sided faces…..they’ve been consumed by the TV broadcast…..for u see every TV here in this world is controlled by the tower, the tower controls all…heck the tower is hinted at that it takes there soul…..

So after making it past some of them, u find yourself in a room with a TV, Mono goes up to the TV places his hand on it….gets teleported into this hallway where he sees this door across the hallway….the door opens up revealing this tall thin man wearing a business suite and a fedora….

What does this guy want? Does he want to sell us something? Anyways Six pulls Mono out of the TV….unfortunately, the lanky figure known as Thin Man makes it out of the TV, and y’all start running upstairs to a bedroom to hide all while he walks up slowly to catch up to y’all….also he can teleport slightly…

Anyway, they run up to the bedroom, Mono hides under the bed, but Six gets kidnapped by the Thin Man…so now Mono runs away, he plans to go save Six….he bests she’s been taken to the tower…

But first, he has to escape the Thin Man, he escapes him by jumping from one train cart to another….he makes his way past civilians who are attached to watching their TV….we now learn the ability to teleport through a TV to get onto another side of a platform…

This required some thinking, it was a puzzle….. Anyway Mono makes it downtown where Thin Man teleports in front of him and Mono uses his powers to defeat Thin Man….by shoving him into the ground…

Anyway, he teleports himself in front of the tower after he kills Thin Man…..he then enters the building, where he goes up multiple flights of stairs that seem very artistic…..the stairs go swirling around the entire square building hallway upwards…

Also, there’s a puzzle where u are in a hallway with multiple doors where u have to enter the correct doors by the music u hear from the door…if u hear a music/sound come from a door u enter it…

That means u have to have ur volume up.

Anyways u make yourself into a room where u see a giant-sized Six in a yellow raincoat….holding a music wind box, your goal is to take a hammer and smash it to save her….it gets hard because she’ll be guarding it….u have to go through doors to get to the closest one near her without being caught…

So eventually u smash the box, and it turns Six back to normal size….y’all run away while the walls start collapsing and chasing u, revealing piles of legs and eyeballs underneath….yep that’s the tower, it’s a fleshy being that takes a form of a watch tower….

So u both make your way to a landing u have to jump up towards, Six jumps up and gets up….Mono then jumps but barely makes it, Six grabs u…as u think ur about to be pulled up…she instead drops u down and leaves u for dead….what? I thought we were friends Six…

Yeah, I take this off either 3 meanings..

1. She’s mad at us for destroying her box and didn’t want us to do that or save her, maybe she felt safe there.

2. Maybe she feels betrayed that she got kidnapped and we didn’t try hard enough to save her.

3. Maybe she always had alternative plans that were using Mono as a means to an end…

Who knows. Y’all pick which u think it is…so anyway game ends with Mono in this fleshy pit and he sees a chair that he goes sits in….then over time we see him turn into the tall Thin Man wearing a fedora…..plot twist…

So Mono is Thin Man? What a twist, also that probably means Thin Man was trying to save Mono from Six…as in he was trying to get rid of Six because he knew what was gonna happen….also the implication here is there’s time travel, idk how I feel about that still…

Anyways I hope y’all enjoy this review, also here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on.
