Little Nightmares

Little Nightmares: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Ok, where to start well firstly sorry I’m late to these 2 games. But I only recently played these games…..but I’m so glad to now get around to reviewing these 2 games, so this review will be different…we will first start with a rating, and then this is where things get tricky….since these 2 games don’t have dialog or cutscenes..

I’m gonna tell the story while going along with explaining the characters and their outcomes…..so I’ll be taking it piece by piece, but I also won’t spend too long on the review either…so the rating, I honestly enjoyed this game a lot, it’s both eerie, macabre and disturbing….heck I tensed up a lot, I’ll give this game a solid 10/10, so warning āš ļø spoilers ahead y’all have been warned….

So in this game, u play as this little girl named Six, who’s wearing a yellow raincoat…..so throughout this game, u make ur way through this giant macabre metallic place, and u will go through vents….hallways. Ladders, chains, down hatches…..through multiple locations…..I won’t talk about the monsters yet I’ll save that for when I do talk about the monsters…but what u need to know right now is that the monsters are these giant grotesquely macabre creatures…..

Throughout the levels, u will encounter these small Gnome kids wearing hats….also there’s something wrong with Six, at moments in this game she kneels over in pain….her stomach gurgling….her stomach stops hurting when she feasts on meat, so one of the Gnomes she meets through hands her meat do she can eat….

She eventually starts eating questionable things such as she later on eats a rat in a trap. Ah eew.

Now I’m gonna do a brief summary of the game because trust me when I say this the game’s plot may not be for everyone because a lot is left open in the air…

So there’s a reason why this game won’t be for everyone, well minus the fact that this game is a horror game. But also here’s the thing this game doesn’t hold ur hands at all, u wake up on a briefcase and u head right and keep heading straight….the game gives u no indication of where ur supposed to go to, what ur character motivation is….heck they don’t teach u the buttons u will have to use, u have to figure it out on your own….

Basically, the devs have hope in their audience that they can put 2 and 2 together, I don’t mind that but some of y’all might….for example u will be in a room where there’s a door u can’t reach but have to open and there’s a chair in the same room. The game doesn’t tell u but u will have to drag the chair to the door to open it…

Or there are other times ur in a room, and the door ahead of u is electrocuted….so ur only option is to go upwards. So u go left which is straight for u because of the angle the game at which this game is a side-scrolling game, so straight for u, the audience is the characters left….

So u go left, and u see crates and boxes u can climb….which u will have to climb….

Yeah, it’s puzzle solving like that which I can see how this would frustrate some people……

BTW in this game even though it doesn’t tell u what the objective is or any of that, u the player can put 2 and 2 together easily…at first, it seems ur character is trying to escape, but that’s given more merit when u realize the crates u have been seeing are cells that were carrying kids inside…well get to that later…

When u get past the first chapter u will get an achievement called escape prison, so it was a prison….u eventually find yourself accidentally going backward back to where u started….just then u enter a room with a cage and rats and a slice of meat inside….

Six gets hungry she enters the cage to eat the meat…just then this long arm comes out of the dark and then shuts the cage on her dunn dunn dunnn…

So u get put in a room filled with kids in cages, u escape the cage…u find yourself in a room where this guy called the Janitor who has these long arms, and small legs…wears a fedora, his skin over his face has collapsed downward which caused him to go bling…but unfortunately for u, he can hear very well so u have to sneak past him…

BTW remember how I mentioned kids in cages? Well, we see him putting these dead kids wrapped up onto hooks that start moving upwards to something…..so escape the Janitor through multiple tense moments….especially this 1 time in an elevator where a gnome attracts his attention away from Six so she can escape the elevator….

Anyway, the encounter with the Janitor eventually ends where u find yourself in another elevator but this time the door is close to shutting but a cage is in the way so there’s enough room for the Janitor to reach his long arms inside…..

So u end this by avoiding his arms, going to the cage yanking it until it collapses onto the Janitors arms which dismember his arms from his body….gasp

So u eventually find yourself In a kitchen where u see this cheif guy who’s this chubby ugly looking fella who’s wearing a human skin mask over his face, clearly whatever is underneath his face is worse than what we are able to see with the mask over his face…..do u sneak underneath cabinets and all that…at first the guy doesn’t pay too much attention to u, to him ur a rat basically…btw if u go underneath something he can’t reach u…

U eventually steal a key off a table, btw I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it yet but I’ll mention it now, but the way u grab things in this game needed working on…for u see to grab things u have to use the button to hold down on to grab things, then u have to continue to hold down on the hold down button all while walking to the place to open the thing with it…all while hiding or running from a monster…

Glad they fixed that in the sequel, anyways u make ur way upstairs into a hallway and then into a bedroom where u find out there’s a twin chief brother upstairs…. there are 2 of them?

Anyways eventually u make ur way out by noticing a curring table with a stacked pile of plates, u climb it u see these hooks hovering over u and moving…so u grab onto one of the hooks and ride ur way out all while the 2 chubby chiefs chase u and toss objects at u….

This chase ends very intensely, u eventually have to drop off from the hook, proceed to run…make your way to a ledge where more hooks are moving up towards, u have to climb onto a table…time the hook correctly jump, and grab onto it before the 2 chiefs come close to the table and grab u….it’s very tense….

So now we’re in the endgame, so we now find out this is a boat we’ve been on. We make our way across a chain towards the outside….where we see we’re on a boat that’s in the middle of the ocean…all while another boat is across this boat….we also see these giant chubby passengers exit their boat and enter on this boat…hmmm some kinda event is happening.

This is where stuff starts to happen, so Six makes her way into this dining hall place where everyone will be eating at…..just in the corner above a balcony she spots this tall woman who doesn’t seem deformed….she looks like the most normal out of everyone there.

This segment is kinda hard so u have to make ur way past these glutinous people shoving food in their mouths, if u get spotted they either try to grab u and put u in their mouths, or in some segments they fall on the floor and start crawling towards u while u are running away….

Getting bast hurdles and all that. Anyways u make ur way upstairs into the ladies’ bedroom where u see her looking at herself in a mirror, well she kinda is…the mirror is cracked, presumably, she cracked it herself….maybe she hates looking at herself…..

So u sneak into her room, u steal the keys…..u leave the room and go open a door across the hall…Then u find yourself in an attic room where she comes out of the dark and starts attacking u.

Six uses a mirror to defeat the lady, the woman falls onto the floor…Six goes up to her and sucks her energy out of her yikes, she then goes down to the hallways where everyone is eating at each table..Six passes by the people and sucks their energy out of them…..yikes..

She’s unstoppable and untouchable….so the game ends with Six walking out of the boat and that’s it….that’s the final shot of this game…

I hope y’all enjoyed this review, I’m glad I got around to reviewing both thse games, also here’s a tease for the next review I’m working on.
