Mortal Kombat XL: Let’s first start by showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Sorry had to do that, for all 3 of these Mortal Kombat game reviews, I’m not gonna talk about the story I want y’all to witness the story on your own….I won’t be spoiling it, what instead I’ll be talking about is-

1. Is the game worth it?

2. How good the game is based on its character rosters

3. Talk a bit about my handful of favorite characters

4. For one of these reviews I’ll be playing 1 clip for a DLC character but that’s it…I won’t say which one or which Mortal Kombat review I’ll be doing that in…..wanna keep some suspension..

5. Talk about the gameplay if it’s any good, mainly will mainly be talking about how pathetic I am at fighting games…plus then mention my fighting tactics, yeah prepare to be amused by my incompetence…

6. Lastly Talk about the level of gore each game has because the games are well known for being gory…

7. I’ll also talk about character customization…..the amount of customization there is…

8. I’ll talk about the types of game modes this game has

9. Ill talk about thr tone of the game

Also warning ⚠️ this game series is extremely grotesquely gory and graphically violent….so if any of y’all don’t like any of that, then this game isn’t for you and neither will this review….

With that out of the way Let’s get the rating out of the way so in case u wanna stop reading any spoilers from there and experience the game on your own which I wouldn’t blame u if that’s the case…

Overall i absolutely love this game, I remember watching my cousin playing this game… I and he would play it together, and I’d always lose because I suck at fighting in this game….yeah I’m that bad at it…to the point where I only spam 1 button constantly…yeah I’m one of those players…lolo.

I love that the atmosphere and tone of this game are a lot more darker than the other 2 that come after this one….the DLC characters are so much fun which I’ll get into In a bit when talking about the character roster….

Also for a nearly 10-year-old game the graphics still look spectacular….

BTW the amount of gore this game has is brutal as hell…for example

U can use Kung Lao’s hat to cut a player’s head in half…

U can slice a player’s face straight off

U can cut a player’s jaw and arms off

U can rip out their heart and then slam it back through their chest leaving a hole through the chest

Yeah, I’d like to list more but we’d be here for a while, plus don’t want to gross some y’all out straight away…..

Frankly, I use Single Fight, Towers, and lastly the Krypt…

There’s a cool tning about the tower mode….in all 3 of these games I’m reviewing, if u play as a specific character in the tower mode, and u make it up to the top to fave against the boss fight and defeat them….

Ur character gets a specific end cutscene meant for them, it also works for DLC characters as well

Now to say I fight badly is an understatement, like idk how to fight properly at all…I barely know how to do combos….the only move I know to do is well to spam the Y button and jump at the same time to jump then hit the enemy 2wice to knock them down on the ground…

Also, I know how to spam the button to crouch and spam kick the enemy to the floor…yeah I’m one of those annoying players unfortunately….but I’m just not good at these fighting games….but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with it either…

So now let’s talk about my personal favorite characters I like playing as….

Those characters I absolutely love playing as…..

When I play as Sub Zero and Scorpion fighting one another I like to pretend that they’re the original ones Bi-Han and Kuai Liang….I also use their Klassic outfits on them…..

Heck, I use the Klassic outfits on Ermac and Reptile, spoiler Alert all 4 of those character’s Klassic outfits are the same just recolored….

Scorpions Klassic suit is a ninja suit colored yellow

Sub Zeros Klassic suit is a ninja suit colored blue

Ermacs Klassic suit is a ninja suit colored red

Reptiles Klassic suit is a ninja suit colored green

But I absolutely love playing as them in those versions of their outfits….

Now I do wanna quickly mention something so remember how I said this game is darker? Which I’ll get too soon because I’m gonna talk about the tone of this game…

Well, there’s 1 clip I wanna share with y’all…it’s a cutscene in the tower if u play as Leather Face….dear lord this ending of the story is dark…like extremely dark….if any of y’all are squeamish look away…

Yeah, so where to start, we’ll Leather Face ends up having a crush on Cassie Cage so he brings back to her her camp Shinnoks cut off face as a gift to her….but she doesn’t like the gift, she wasn’t being nice to him….

So Leather Face cut her up into pieces then cut off her face…because if she wasn’t gonna be his girlfriend, she could be his in other ways…..

Yeah if any of y’all were not certain about how dark this game’s tone is then look no further than at that clip….that clip right there explains it all….also the tone of the game as in the color pallet is bleak….they toned down the color pallet in the sceneries, yeah that really helps u realize this is a bleaker game….

Now let’s talk about the Kustomization…well this one will be quicker than the other 2….because there’s not much here….instead here when u click on a character the game gives u already 3 to 2 options of different suits u can change from…

Also, each character has 3 different character types u can pick from…for example Sub Zero…1 version of his character powers focuses more on ice weapons….2nd version focuses more on punching and kicking…the 3rd version focuses around weapons….

Yeah, that’s the amount of Kustomization there is in this game…..like I said not a whole lot, but hey still I still like this game…

Finally, let’s talk about the story…is the main story worth it? Yes, I do think it is…that’s all I’ll say about it, I don’t want to spoil it for y’all…I’ll say one more thing about it, the ending is great in my opinion it leaves u slightly in shock, and wondering how MK 11 story will continue where this story ends off on…

Too bad MK 11 story didn’t really continue with the thing at the end of MK X story….because MK 11 decided to bring in a new villain halfway through that game…..oh whoopee freaking doo….

Anyways getting ahead of myself….

So overall do I recommend this game, absolutely yes,it is so much fun….especially if u have a friend to play with…..I hope yall enjoyed this review and plz share it with people u know….thanks
