Mortal Kombat 11: Let’s start off with showing y’all the trailers shall we?

Sorry had to do that, for all 3 of these Mortal Kombat game reviews, I’m not gonna talk about the story I want y’all to witness the story on your own….I won’t be spoiling it, what instead I’ll be talking about is-

1. Is the game worth it?

2. How good the game is based on its character rosters

3. Talk a bit about my handful of favorite characters

4. For one of these reviews I’ll be playing 1 clip for a DLC character but that’s it…I won’t say which one or which Mortal Kombat review I’ll be doing that in…..wanna keep some suspension..

5. Talk about the gameplay if it’s any good, mainly will mainly be talking about how pathetic I am at fighting games…plus then mention my fighting tactics, yeah prepare to be amused by my incompetence…

6. Lastly Talk about the level of gore each game has because the games are well known for being gory…

7. Ill also talk about character customization…..the amount of customization there is…

8. Ill talk about the types of games modes this game has

9. Ill talk about thr tone of the game

Also warning ⚠️ this game series is extremely grotesquely gory and graphically violent….so if any of y’all don’t like any of that, then this game isn’t for you and neither will this review….

With that out of the way Let’s get the rating out of the way so in case u wanna stop reading any spoilers from there and experience the game on your own which I wouldn’t blame u if that’s the case…

Overall I absolutely love this game like a lot, it’s loads of fun….now I get it most of the fan base will disagree with me and probably lynch me for saying that…but in my opinion, I have loads of fun with this game….it’s just fun popping in this game and playing with a friend….

I also love the character roster here….it’s perfect in my opinion….graphically this game is also gorgeous…… The atmosphere is a great blend of dark but not too dark either…

My only 2 downsides with this game are the way u get character customization for each character….u have to play lots of matches in the tower then afterward u have to go into the Krypt, and open up chests with the points u get from the Tower….and u get random items from the chests, u just have to hope u get an outfit u badly want for a character…if not? Well, ur gonna find yourself grinding months on months on months on end of doing the tower and constantly coming back to the Krypt….oh boy ain’t that fun?

Once again just like MK 1 the level of gore compared to MK X, has gone down again….it’s not too tamed down but u can start noticing that they’ve started taming down the gore…again compared to the first 10 MK games I think….because I never played MK 1-9…..

Yeah, this one is tame in comparison to MK X….which could be a shame or not… depending on how u look at it…but don’t get me wrong this game is still extremely gory….I mean in both MK X and MK 11 u can for example….

Slice open someone’s lower jaw and the entire front of their torso then proceed to slam it back into them which pushes out their heart and some their organs….

U can cut the other player’s limbs off depending on which character u play as…..

As I said still gory, but there are a lot and I do mean a lot more gory moments in MK X compared to this….

Honestly, maybe it is good they’re slightly taming down the gore because it recently came out that some of the devs who works on Mortal Kombat have gotten PTSD and had to seek out therapy to cope…

Because get this to emulate the gore to look as realistic as possible and the fatalities as realistic as possible they searched up mutilated corpses….yeah sounds like a fun job, right? Hey come work for us you will get paid and get some PTSD but still….

In their words they had to split up into groups, some of them looked up images of mutilated cow carcasses while the other group looked up brutal murder victims…..yeah this really seems like the type of job no sane person would want…..turns out some of them had to try to disconnect themselves from any emotions so they can make it through…….uhhhhhhhh

In all seriousness, though yeah that’s just disgusting, I can’t fathom how traumatic that can be to have to go look up and study in-depth hours upon hours upon days of gory brutal deaths….then program the gore and fatalities into ur game all while having all that imagery in the back of your head…yeah no wonder why they needed therapy…I’d need therapy as well if I had to do that..

BTW before we move on, I’d like to quickly mention that there are things that have been coming out about how the gaming industry is kinda terrible…..they force their employees to crunch and do overtime without getting paid for the extra amount of work or hours….plus then on top of that u got the Mortal Kombat devs getting PTSD from there job…which isn’t good at all…

Heck here’s another example of why I couldn’t nor would I ever want a job as a game developer…let’s look at the game Outlast, a little while back a dev spoke out about…get this “I had to digitalize and create realistic renders of a pile of dead babies for this game, that wasn’t a highlight for me”….well no kidding…

I mean yikes, that’s graphic, I do think we sometimes as an audience take the devs and their games for granted, we don’t have to stop and think too much about the graphic brutal gore in games like this, not nearly as much, and in details the devs had to make this game…..

Anyway idk what else to say there except that I respect u devs, u work hard for your fans so they can have fun with the game……

Personally I use single-player, Klassic Towers and the Krypt…..

Now to say I fight badly is an understatement, like idk how to fight properly at all…I barely know how to do combos….the only move I know to do is well to spam the Y button and jump at the same time to jump then hit the enemy 2wice to knock them down on the ground…

Also, I know how to spam the button to crouch and spam kick the enemy to the floor…yeah I’m one of those annoying players unfortunately….but I’m just not good at these fighting games….but that doesn’t mean I can’t have fun with it either

So now let’s talk about my personal favorite characters I like playing as…..

Raiden

Those characters I love playing as….now bet yall wondering what specifically about Raiden in this game, out of all 3 of the games I’m playing…why Raiden in this game?

Well glad u asked it’s because there’s a DLC style u can buy for him (since I got the deluxe edition that came with the game) u can get the Christopher Lamberts version of Raiden….

Hands down he’s still my favorite version of a movie version of Raiden in my opinion so of course I’m gonna play as that version in this game….

Same thing with Shang Tsung, he has his classic movie appearance…which became the iconic staple version of his character….heck this game gives him that iconic line from The original MK movie….remember the line? “Ur soul is mine!”…

Yeah that line, God I love that movie, it’s so corny….

Also, why do I like playing as Kabal? Well, 3 things stick out to me…

1. He has a cool-looking mask

2.  He’s the Mortal Kombat equivalent of a speedster

3. He and Kano have a bit of history, for u see Kabal got badly injured to the point he’d need a life support machine….luckily for him, or unluckily for him Kano found him and repaired him…gave him the mask that helps him breathe…

Yet somehow Kabal hates Kano, and he blames him for and I quote condemned him to this inferno mask……well gee wiz ur welcome I guess…..yeah my opinion he and Kano are 2 cool characters….granted they’re both F***ked up characters who have little to no Moralities…..

They aren’t the type of people u should be rooting for or caring for….yet I do, I think I admire the messed-up characters in general…..

Also when I play as Scorpion and Sub Zero fighting each other I again pretend they’re the original versions Bi-Han and Kuai Liang….I also use their Klassic outfits once again….because nothing beats those classic outfits

Also if yall wondering what the tone of this game is like? We’ll I can safely say it’s still dark….well kinda, they toned back a bit on the bleakness, and changed the color pallet to a bit more brighter sceneries….but it’s not over-the-top bright happy vibes…..unlike MK 1 which we will get into In that review…

Now let’s talk about the Kustomization….well I am happy to say the amount of Kustomization in this game is a great amount….for each character u can change 3 different gear appearances which includes…

There mask

There weapons

A small piece on their chest or belt (depending on the character)

U can change the appearance of the outfit they are wearing

U can also change the final posses ur characters use

U can change the character banner

U also can pick a handful of fatalities and brutalities to use

Unfortunately as stated to unlock any of those u have to grind and grind on hours of hours on doing the tower then go into the Krypt, open up chests, and hope u unlock something good at random or a specific style u want at random….yeah that is a thing I hate about this game…

Finally, let’s talk about the story, is the main story worth it? Yes, in my opinion, in my opinion it is….granted once again if ur not invested in multiverse type shite then this won’t appeal to u….because the main thing revolving around this game’s story is that younger variants of specific characters get teleported from their universe and now team up with there future versions of themselves….

Once again if multiverse-type stuff like that is becoming old and overused for y’all then this story won’t do it for u…..no Bueno……

So overall do I recommend this game, yes like absolutely yes, it is so much fun….especially if u have a friend to play with…..I hope yall enjoyed this review and plz share it with people u know….thanks
