Lego Star Wars the Video Game:

Ok so first I want to start off by saying, this was the first ever lego game I played when growing up ..its nostalgic to me….so anyways this game only takes u through the prequel trilogy  …and thats basically it….and the open world is a place called Dexter Dinner….my God im always gonna remember the music that plays in his dinner….here’s a link to it so u can hear it….

So anyways I should mention ups and downs….ups…its a dun lego game and also its star wars, downside….there levels that require u to use vehicles…nothing wrong with that…except that they add a timer in those maps so u have to complete that level at a certain time or u fail and have to restart….yeah those levels aren’t fun…luckily there is only 3 of those levels….oh if ur wondering if u can unlock Darth Vader…because he’s on the cover of this game….yes …yes u can…but….the way u unlock him is tedious….u have to basically get 99% in the game to unlock his bonus level to unlock him…..yeah not fun getting 99%…its brining back memories of doing lego Harry Potter years 1-4……so yeah if u badly want to unlock vader….well tough…gotta wait till u get 99% into the game or 98%.. but still…..also since this is a old game there is no open world…unlike modern lego games…so overall I really live this game and I recently went back and replayed this on my PS2…God I feel old for saying that.  .anyways I give this game a solid 9/10

Also side note old lego games had no dialog…instead the lego characters grunted…so old lego games revolved around physical humor…unlike modern lego games where they can talk and now revolve around  Verbal humor…..

Lego Star Wars 2 the Original Trilogy:

Ok so this game takes u thought the original trilogy only…and this is my least favorite game…because it doesn’t have a special character that I enjoy to unlock….and well the hub world is the bar on Tatooine……I mean its a fun game don’t get me wrong, u can relive ur favorite moments of star wars….if u want Vader…to bad u have to wait till the last episode in return of the jedi….also I barley remember this game…ok so rating….7.8/10

Lego Star Wars Complete Saga:

Ok now we get to my favorite….this is it…..this game takes u through all 6 movies….and there is like 10 or 8 bonus missions…..oh and u can unlock Indiana  Jones in this game….yeah it makes no sense but both are made by George Lucas….heck u can unlock Han Solo in lego Indiana Jones……so anyways the game play is the same…but now they took the stupid timer out of the vehicle mission’s….yes finally….and I don’t know why but in the bonus mission’s u can play those specific ones with the timer….just why, I hated those….but yes I really love this game…..its my favorite….and I have a feeling lego star wars the Skywalker saga is gonna well beat this game…..because lego star wars Skywalker saga supposedly gonna have…..500 characters to unlock,  40 vehicles,  26 planets to explore and free roam on, 45 missions, 986 minikits……Jesus…the highest amount of minikits we gotten in a game was 250….so anyways this game gets a solid 10/10….worth a play 

Lego Star Wars The Skywalker Saga 

I just wanted to start off by saying a few things…..this game was delayed so many times about 5 times, it almost lost its hype in the fan base….including me….the devs were like its coming in the summer of 2020….no scratch that gall 2020…..no scratch that spring 2021…no scratch that fall 2021…no scratch that now coming out April 2022….but when the game came out it caught my interest again. On a side note this game I’m completely mixed on this….I’ll explain why later but for now what I will say is this….this game is fun…..its the biggest lego star wars game we’ve gotten notice how I said biggest lego star wars game, not biggest lego game… that’s important for later….also this game has a way to Many issues that I and most of the fan base has……so without further a do….here’s the trailers….I’m gonna list them from which year they came out in

Yeah, are yall starting to notice how much this game was delayed? It’s ridiculous….but hey glad we got it this year although it was announced back in 2019…..Jesus lord…..BTW another reason I enjoy this game, because it reminds me of lego star wars the complete saga…..this game has some callbacks to that game which I enjoy…..I grew up with that game….but overall it is a 2/10. BTW I want to play the complete saga trailer here so u guys can have a comparison

Yeah this was the jam back when it came out and to this day I still really enjoy this game, it’s a tough decision but I Slightly prefer the complete saga over the Skywalker saga……I’ll explain why…….also here’s the trailers for lego star wars the force awakens, lego star wars 3, lego star wars the original trilogy and lastly lego star wars the video game…..I am making this review big….Because to Me, this game is a combination of previous lego star wars games and I love it for that

The reason I’m putting every lego star wars game trailer here is because I want yall to have comparisons…..I want yall to experience what it was like back in the days when the first 3 lego star wars games came out….plz enjoy, anyways 

So the Skywalker saga is a game that let’s u play through all 9 films…. that’s right all 9……each film has 5 levels so that comes up to 45 levels total….Jesus that’s almost up there with complete saga which has 36 levels

Anyway so back to the Skywalker saga…..yall know the stories, yall seen all 9 star wars films…if u haven’t then what are u doing here…go watch them….I’m not explaining the movies here…no I’m just giving my thoughts on this game…..and uhhh ohhh boy I’m mixed on this game like I’m somewhere split….I half like this game and half hate this game…it’s a love hate relationship……so let’s go into pros and cons so I can explain what I hate and what I love

Pros: this game is so damn freaking gorgeous looking….the fact that if u stand on sand or snow, or mud…..then the mud and or snow or sand will get into the crevices of ur character…that small touche of details is what makes this game look and feel realistic…..for a lego game keep that in mind….lets see oh right this game has the biggest character roster of all time….the base game has get this 380 characters….Jesus christ….then if u buy the dlc packs then the characters add up to 455 characters….which is much closer to what the devs promised with this game before, that this game will havw almost 500 playable characters……..yeah thats alot of characters to unlock, Goodluck to anyone who plays this game…..oh btw if yall wanna see the trailers for the dlc pack seasons then here they are

Yeah that’s a good amount of great characters from the packs in my opinion…..lets see what other compliments I can give this game……well I mean it’s star wars so if u enjoy star wars then of course u would enjoy this…..I also like how this game takes elements from Lego Star Wars The complete saga…which was this games predecessor….so it makes sense to make callbacks to that game…also on some specific locations u can find lego cover books of the first 2 previous lego star wars games….ok I really like that small touche to the game, that’s a great way to pay respects to what came before this game……also I fo like that u get some cool interactions between characters…..let me give u 3 examples of my favorite interaction between characters

Chancellor Palpatine: I am the senate.

Jar jar: hi Senate, messa called Jar Jar Binks

Emperor: have u ever heard of the tragedy of darth Plagues the wise?

Darth vader: ahhhh we can’t keep doing this, u have told me countless times.

Darth Vader: Calrissian I’m altering the deal, I wish to have one of ur capes.

Lando: no way, hands off my capes.

Lolololo 

…..yeah these interactions are my favorite…..they make me laugh……..lets also see….In this game u can have player 2 be a Astro mech and or a Gonk Droid and u can ride them…..I love this mechanic, I will constantly ride on R2D2 as Vader…..just for the lolos…….also speaking of Gonk droids, oh boy have they hit meme level in this game….u can unlock 3 different Gonk Droids (one by a cheat code only), a Gonk Droid shaped ship (just because), and u can have a golden Gonk Droid companion along with a Porg companion….kinda like pets if u will…and yes u can ride the golden Gonk Droid, this game is that great…also there’s an extra where u can turn all the civilians into Gonk Droids….ok hands down that’s my favorite it’s just too goofy, plus it turns all the characters on each pause screen into Gonk Droids….so for example instead of like if ur on Tatooine and u press pause and u see Maul, emperor, Dooku, grievous, looking at Obi-Wan, anakin, mace windu, Yoda….u will instead see Gonk Droids……yeah lots of details went into this game….then my final compliment is this….in this game u can mind trick animal’s…u can either control them or make them dance or scare them off using the force….like I keep saying small details like this make the game enjoyable…..and now onto the cons and oh boy there’s alot

Cons: oh boy where do I even start with the negatives….well let’s see,

Jango fetts gun noises are completely inaccurate….and they’ve still not fixed that

Outside of hoth isn’t explorable…..that still hurts me the most…because I’m a huge fan of snow, I wanted to play outside of hoth in the snow…dangit

Starkiller base isn’t even explorable…..which is baffling for a game that is supposed to have all the star wars planets….but I found out that’s not true, because theres 5 planets missing in the game to explore on

The main levels are way to simplified, as in there’s vaguely any puzzles…..which makes the levels both semi-boring and to quick…..the levels last around 5 to 10 min each…….yeah not a great at sign, and on top of that the lack of puzzles in the main missions takes out the difficulty of previous lego games…which now the levels just have is go from one location to another and shoot enemies…..that kinda got tedious 

The dlc packs don’t have any voice lines…which is a shame….

The dark moments got way to dumbed down….in the previous lego star wars game like the complete saga…the dark moments were still there, but in this game? Not at all….take for example the zam wessel death scene……remember how in attack of the clones she gets shot with a toxic dart and dies…well not in this game, she gets shot and just get knocked out…also she hands the needle to Obi-Wan kenobi so she’s clearly still alive…..then the general grievous vs Obi-Wan battle is tamed down…..I mean we see grievous dabbing before he starts fighting Obi-Wan…then how the battle ends is Obi-Wan cuts general grievous in half then says ur move…and his severed legs starts dancing ans fall of the ledge…..oh joy 

Even though the characters get put into different classes…it doesn’t give an excuse that the bounty hunter classes guns are inaccurate…..the gun shooting in that class is all the same but it ain’t accurate…its rapid-fire multiple bolts at once…which last I checked Jango fett sure as heck didn’t have that with his guns…..and neither did mando from the mandalorian…..

Oh right the most important complaint there is no character customization in this game…..sighhhh…..the staple of lego games and its none existent in this game? Look devs I understand u guys had to cut corners and couldn’t finish up specific things but what’s stopping yall now from adding into the game? 

There’s just stuff taken out of this game and replaced with boring things…for example we don’t get to play the battle over coruscant…..no instead its a cut scene….but what we do get to do instead in tbis game is have a segment of us helping dexter out by serving food to customers at his diner…..wow so thrilling……next thing u know this game is gonna have us play as darth vader and just have us go do shopping errands for the emperor? Oh wait that doesn’t happen? Well gee wiz I was almost half expecting that since we get a pointless segment in this game? BTW they didn’t even get the dexter scene correctly….in attack of the clones its day time when Obi-Wan goes and talks to him but in this game it’s pitch black out….uh huh…..devs do u not know thr difference between day and night?

This is a minor issue but it’s one I can’t over look….for some reason in revenge of the sith level…when u go face against Palpatine as Yoda u get captain Typho ad ur partner and the next level is Obi-Wan going to locate anakin and u get Bail Organa as ur partner….yet in the film its Bail Organa who saves Yoda and Master Typho who escorted Padme onto her ship so she can go visit Anakin on Mustafar……sighhh…..once again, devs how do you mess up small details like this? How hard was it to just switch both roles around? Give me a break

Oh BTW I have a sneaking suspicion that co-op was not considered all to well when this game was being made….for example in lego star wars the complete saga during the Anakin vs Obi-Wan level u and player 2 get to play as both characters and try to survive the base that’s sinking till u reach a rock platform at the end and fight…see thata how u make the game flexible for 2 players…but in this game? Nah…instead u as player one gets to play as Obi-Wan while player 2 gets to play as C3PO or R2D2…..oh lovely, and if that isn’t worse part of it….u player one gets to fight while get this u player 2 has to use panels to help player one….ah gotcha, so basically player 1 gets to have fun while player 2 gets to do chores…..yep sounds like a boat load of fun huh? Hey pal do u wanna come over and play the new lego star wars game with me? Don’t worry I’ll get to have all the fun while u do chores for me in the game…how does that sound? Ughhhhhhhh….BTW if u think that’s bad take the grievous and Obi-Wan battle….u as player one gets to fight while player 2 player as commander Cody and just stand there and watch….wow that’s boring as all heck….did u guys consider 2 players at all when creating this game?…..devs?

Oh oh how could i forget this complaint I have with the game….so let’s talk about the battle of Geonosies level….in the complete saga and lego star wars 3 the battle of Gwonosies had like over hundreds of droids on screen and 50ish jeids on screen it was a massive havoc battle I loved it…..and I was excited to see how this game would do better then those 2 games….abd it did nothing better, instead in this battle scene all we see is 20 droids on screen and uh 5 jedis on screen….wow, u had one job…..and u have failed ur job!!…..u where supposed to bring us battle of Geonosies…..but what u brought us was a half fast watered down version that feels incomplete….bravo devs, ur making me think a 15 year old game is better then ur modern remake……and yes complete saga is 10 times better then this game in my opinion……this frustrates me

Also for some reason this game has 24 planets, but I’m calling bullshite because there’s only 23 planets in the game….and what do I mean by that u maybe wondering? Well the 24th planet for some reason isn’t even explorable nor can u land onto it….so it begs the question why it’s even on the map? Was this an incomplete leftover? I’m starting to believe that’s the case….which in that case this then feels lazy…why keep that there? Why not get rid of it? Or better yet go ahead and finish it and make it explorable….heck while ur at it make outside of hoth and the entire of starkiller base explorable….huh? Devs!!…huh?

Unfortunately there were levels that could have been in this game but they cut them out……we didn’t get the battle of coruscant….instead it was a cutscene, also Palpatine vs Mace Windu isn’t even a level it’s a cutscene….sighhh see here’s the issue thr devs focused to hard on making the open world aspects really detailed and good and fun…and they forgot to make the levels fun….instead the levels feel way to short to be enjoyable…….as I stated there’s no challenges in any of the levels…so the levels go hy fast, I miss the days where the old legos games had puzzles in them….but them game cut those out I’m favor for shooting and shooting…..

Also I refuse to get 100% in this game because each level has 3 challnegs and oh boy do the challenges sound wayyyy to difficult…for example one challenge said complete the Sam weasel level in 4 minutes…..uhhhhh yeah no I’m fine….I’ll be sticking at 84% and I’m fine with it….and remember how I complained about there’s no puzzles ans I’m complaining about challenges….well there both different, lego game puzzles are one thing….challenges are a whole different thing…so get off my back!!

I feel better after getting out of my system all the complaints I have with this game….maybe now I can enjoy this game…..

Overall I’m split on this game…there’s stuff I love hut stuff I hate…as u can see….I’m gonna give this game a solid 5/10…I think that’s reasonable….anyways I still recommend the game especially if any yall grew up with the complete saga…
